Do you recall the shame associated with political campaign strategies that actually helped GOP candidates win the Presidency? The two most notable were the Roger Ailes Willie Horton Ads against Michael Dukakis and the Swift Boat Ads against Jon Kerry. Yes, both ad campaigns contributed to wins for GOP candidates; both also appealed to the lowest levels of human emotions and adduced insidious levels of political underhandedness and indecency.
Underhandedness for the GOP is acceptable as long as it yields results. Since, supporters of the GOP and gullible independents vote to place republicans in office, one can only assume my early use of the word shame is not shared among millions of voters. Voters who unbelievably and consistently reward the GOP's unscrupulous acts with votes. They vote for candidates who far exceed expected politicking; candidates and campaigns that practice outright and never-ending lies and 'for effect' tape editing for ads.
BuzzFeed reported on another guttural low from the GOP.
A reader in Ohio emailed this photo of his free copy of the film Dreams From My Real Father, which claims that the Chicago activist Frank Marshall Davis is actually President Obama's father. He received it in the mail this week.
The film's director and producer, Joel Gilbert, said that the film was sent out to more one million voters in Ohio; 200,000 after a mid-summer conference, and a million after that. He said that 50,000 copies had been sent to voters in Nevada and 100,000 to voters in New Hampshire.
"We're sending out bulk mailings to many states," Gilbert said. "Probably Illinois, New York, Florida, Arizona, Louisiana, we'll hit every state if we can to stimulate and force the national media to cover the story."
It appears the GOP learned much form the likes of Andrew Breitbart and James (the fake pimp) O'Keefe. The video also by fact of production and mailing, salutes the film-making model of Denish D'Souza. And that model is, make any assertion you want, fabricate a story-line like creating a novel, pay a few needy fools to appear on camera (albeit it far distant half relatives), and bundle all around film-maker's conniving and unsubstantiated lies.
Let's visit BuzzFeed again.
When asked questions that are focused on intent and motive, although disguised as questions related to funding of the fabrication-laden video, BuzzFeed reports the following.
Gilbert declined to say how much his company, Highway 61 Entertainment, is spending to distribute the film for free, but said that the film was making a profit through online orders. He also wouldn't say how the company is funded and how they come up with the money to distribute so many free disks.
"We’re a private media company, a journalistic company that’s privately held and we don’t disclose the nature or makeup of our finances," he said.
He said "We’ve made 12 successful films and we are also making current revenue on the current film" and compared the company to Citizens United, but said that it wasn't a political group and didn't have donors. (highlighted added).
I must ask readers, how does that sound like an example of absolute ridiculousness and a cheap shot evasion.
Rosie Gray of BuzzFeed finishes her piece with information about the wild-haired connection to an obscure Chicago activist, Frank Marshall Davis, an insane and illogical central theme of the video lie. She ends the work with specific information related to print media and attempts to run full-page ads to promote the shameful political advertisement.

Political maneuvering such as the mailing are examples of just how low the American Right has lowered itself. If yo can find serious difference in this strategy than those reported to have been used by Joseph Goebbels, respond please. It is an example of unarguable propaganda and it is obvious rooted in lies and misinformation. The real wonderment is why more who received the mailing are not speaking out as victims. someone helped themselves to mailing list, chose names (I dread the thought of the basis for which they chose names) and sent a possibly junk mail into to their homes.
Of course, if the recipients of the mailing are also Obama haters, the mailing is with doubt welcome.
The recipients will probably spend little effort in thought about why groups of people would spend so much underhanded efforts and secret money for producer and disseminate such trash. They will not contemplate beyond the 'basis' bigotry, fear and virtual racism on the surface of the work. They will not think deeper into the shadowy motives of moneyed plutocrats who want to sway the election to the Right for personal again.
No, they will stick with Fear and bigotry. The video is nothing more than another form of 'racial code' mixed with a heavy doses of Roger Ailes-like Willie Hortonism. It is a cancerous form of "Swift - Boat (ing) and a serious affront to anyone with an iota of intellect. How different is the video than Rick Santroum's BLAH People, than Romney's "free stuff", Gingrich's "janitors in inner city schools", and every Right pundit who spew the words food stamps when cornered in political discord.
If we think this I bad, think of how our politics will metastasize with coming elections. How will the developers of such trash become buoyed should Mitt Romney's poll results in Ohio even moderately change with a cut into Obama's growing lead? There efforts will be rewarded even without victory in November.
It is sad to say, but film production and mass mailings of such trash is a form of bullying plain and simple. Do you think anyone one the Right will speak-out against the affront to the parentage of the President of the United States of America? I know two who will not speak out: Mitt Romney and his young hitman Paul Ryan.
You call yourself a moderate or a conservative? Can you find even atom sized modicum of sanity and decency in the mailing?
