We pay tribute where tribute is due. The Arkansas Republican Party has denounced and separated itself from three Arkansas racist who have in the past won elections in the state. We reported one case earlier in the week and another case earlier today. Link 1, Link 2.
TIME...
Three Republican lawmakers in Arkansas are in hot water following the release of their remarks about slavery, Jesus and Muslims over the weekend. The Arkansas Republican Party immediately distanced itself by denouncing their comments as offensive and pulling their campaign funding.
All three men — state representatives Jon Hubbard and Loy Mauch and candidate Charlie Fuqua — published their comments in books or blogs. Excerpts from their writings were published by online newsmagazine TalkBusiness.net and the ArkansasTimes, an alternative weekly in Little Rock.
While we give credit where due, one has to realize and accept that had the GOP performed such interventions and corrective actions prior to the 2012 election year, these bigots may have avoided public exposure. The GOP has ignored manifestation of similar (or worse) acts since President Obama took Office in 2009. The Party is working today to put-forth a face of decency comparable to Romney's Campaign attempting to remake their candidate for effect. The Party is doing same!
The American people have to realize, these measures are uncharacteristic outside the norm for the Party and election year fakery.
