Late last week, Alternet Dot Com published an article about allegations Mitt Romney provided "crony" testimony to help a friend during his divorce case. The case is well over twenty years past, but details of the case join past Vanity Fair information about Romney's strong penchant for and inclinations to lie.

person who worked for Mitt Romney at the consulting firm Bain and Co. in 1977 remembers him with mixed feelings. “Mitt was … a really wonderful boss,” the former employee says. “He was nice, he was fair, he was logical, he said what he wanted … he was really encouraging.” But Bain and Co., the person recalls, pushed employees to find out secret revenue and sales data on its clients’ competitors. Romney, the person says, suggested “falsifying” who they were to get such information, by pretending to be a graduate student working on a project at Harvard. (The person, in fact, was a Harvard student, at Bain for the summer, but not working on any such projects.) “Mitt said to me something like ‘We won’t ask you to lie. I am not going to tell you to do this, but [it is] a really good way to get the information.’ … I would not have had anything in my analysis if I had not pretended.
“It was a strange atmosphere. It did leave a bad taste in your mouth,” the former employee recalls.

Editor's Update: The Boston Globe reports: "Mitt Romney testified under oath in 1991 that the ex-wife of Staples founder Tom Stemberg got a fair deal in the couple’s 1988 divorce, even though the company shares Maureen Sullivan Stemberg received were valued at a tenth of Staples’ stock price on the day of its initial public offering only a year later. At the time the Stembergs split, Romney suggested, there was little indication that Staples’ value would soon skyrocket.
Romney’s testimony in a post-divorce lawsuit brought in 1990 by Sullivan Stemberg was unsealed on Thursday in Norfolk Probate and Family Court at the Globe’s request. Sullivan Stemberg sued unsuccessfully to amend the couple’s financial agreement after Staples went public in 1989 and closed its first day of trading at $22.50 per share, 10 times the value she had received."
According to the Globe, Sullivan Stemberg sold 175,000 shares of Staples stock at $2.25 per share, and sold 80,000 shares at $2.48 a few months later. “In my opinion, that’s a good price to sell the securities at,” Romney testified. "But on April 28, 1989, barely a year after Sullivan Stemberg sold more than half of her shares on the premise that they were worth less than $2.50 apiece, the company made its initial public offering at $19 per share and ended its first day at $22.50," the Globe reports.
There is much more.....
While flipping through cable networks channels yesterday, I lingered a moment as Howard Kurtz, CNN, interviewed and hosted a panel of two noted Internet bloggers and Internet reporters. The progressive reported ended a statement with a allusion to Romney's penchant for the lie. Kurtz immediately corrected the speaker by indicating, "...lie my be a bit strong." No, when it comes to Mitt Romney, it is obvious the lie is his first thought, and he has no problems laying "lie egg" around like a chicken lays eggs in the chicken coop.
I am guessing it violates so unwritten New standard to simply lay the truth out there. If Romney is a pathological liar, why should the host reach to 'clean-up' a factual statement via his host?
The 'crony testimony', again, as over twenty years ago. It would be a non-issue if Romney was not seeking the Office of the Presidency of the Untied States of America. The testimony is yet another example of just how Mitt Romney will work around the truth, even if it means telling a bold lie to facilitate something he wishes to facilitate I suggest, as was stated buy both Santorum and Gingrich during the primaries Mitt Romney is a chronic liar.
The first 30 seconds are key.....
