Justine Sacco (Racist)... Only The Latest To Uncloak; Won't Be The Last

IAC Publicist, Justine Sacco tweets racist joke and is now fired.
Racist alert! Cape Town South Africa Airport..and soon to be former PR Director of IAC.
IAC/InterActiveCorp (also known as IAC) Public Relations executive tweets a racist statement that joins Megyn Kelly and Fox News in the proliferation of "I AM WHITE 'Ism.' While some of my readers do not care for the following image, the image absolutely connects to the very racist sentiments we are seeing, hearing and some are absorbing. We feel for those who are absorbing, as absorption can mean filling with the same seething matter until the witches' brew boils over and oozes from its host; much like a soaked sponge.

There is simply no difference in the increasing exhibitions of "white nationalism" that is manifest in self-aggrandizing "white privilege", than  image above.

Justine Sacco: the latest public figure to exposes an underbelly of racism and utter insensitivity of people who have succumbed to, or who have AIDS. It is important to know the offensive former IAC director worked in of all fields, "public relations." She was not assigned to a function or department where her racist views only affected employees with the misfortune of working in her department, or as peers, she worked in the most public of corporate fields.

Ms. Sacco

It seems Ms. Sacco has an air of "stuck on self. She also appears as a gun enthusiast. Isn't it amazing how 'isms' seem to show the same external manifestations. Ms. Sacco is also unworldly enough to not realize white people also contract aids. If her racist remarks were tweeted to assure white people she wouldn't be sleeping with a black person, she truly is infected with severe racism with pathology that resemble Fox News. There is little need to assure open minded people of your intent. In either case her remarks truly remind of just how far the nation has regressed into "It is OK to be racist." There are times in the past when people would never contemplate placing such remarks out for public view. She doesn't have typing turrets disease. The tweet was typed after a mental process and with intent to be "cute and cool" to those who find her as such.

USA Today

The tweet, "Going to Africa. Hope I don't get AIDS. Just kidding. I'm white!" sparked outcry online and spurred a hashtag that trended on Twitter.

IAC response

"The offensive comment does not reflect the views and values of IAC. We take this issue very seriously, and we have parted ways with the employee in question," the company said in an e-mail Saturday.
IAC is a New York media conglomerate whose brands include Match.com, Vimeo, Ask.com, UrbanSpoon, OKCupid and the Daily Beast.
"There is no excuse for the hateful statements that have been made and we condemn them unequivocally. We hope, however, that time and action, and the forgiving human spirit, will not result in the wholesale condemnation of an individual who we have otherwise known to be a decent person at core,"

An apparent apology with serious flaws.

CNN

CNN also reports as follows. Apparently, Sacco South African background has roots in a system of oppressive called apartheid. If raised in such an environment, one could possibly find the genesis for such callousness regarding such a serious matter.
She added that she is a native of South Africa and was upset that she had hurt so many people there.
"I am very sorry for the pain I caused," she wrote.

The sad part of these every-ready apologies. They are so shallow and seemingly insincere. And let's face it, the damage is done and really cannot be undone.  Perfunctory apologizes are not more than the political correct thing to do; they do not change behavior. I wonder if anyone has told Sacco that not only did she demean the seriousness of a diagnosis of AIDS, she offended many millions across the globe. And, finally her racism reached into all black communities across the globe. Focusing her comments on South Africa was as shallow and insincere as Fox New's efforts to cleanse itself of Megyn Kelly's racism.
