Nixon and Christe: Abuses of Power!

Most who read this screed may not remember the intricacies and detail of the 1972/1973 Watergate cover-up and scandal. All who read it know Richard M. Nixon was the first US President to resign in disgrace after complete revelation of his culpability in the Watergate cover-up. History hasn't definitively placed Nixon as an intimate planner of the Watergate Hotel break-in, and other associated political dirty tricks, but history has archived tid-bits that cast suspicion of Nixon as managerial imprimatur of the break-in.

As Chris Christe devoted 108 minutes self-proclaiming shame, sadness, and remorse about "what he found-out out yesterday," my leading thought was of the similarities in Watergate and Bridgegate.  As a matter of fact, Christe never once mentioned remorse for those who suffered through Bridgegate, nor did he express dismay regarding 'dissing' remarks for school bus (snarled traffic) hostage children or dismay at the bigoted reference to the Fort Hood Mayor as "Serbian."  The mayor is Croation!  Christe wrapped himself and over-sized vampire cloak and spoke of how he had been betrayed and mislead.

We have posted a few obvious similarities in the two "gates." Similarities most will not know both Christe and Nixon exercised respective forms of  "bully."  Nixon, we find out 40 plus years after resigning the presidency practiced Antisemitism and bigotry towards minority groups. He was far less bodacious than Christe with a preference for behind the scenes (particularly via his Oval Office desk phone) bullying through surrogates and direct reports.

Christe leverages that "All American" love of the tough-guy. Yes, even democrats like Chris Matthews, MSNBC Hardball, have expressed an affinity for Christe's "in-your-face" and frank speaking demeanor. Matthews like many others have completely ignored what you are about to see, while gushing over the over-sized "bully."  While very tempered MSNBC's Ari Melber made complementary remarks about Christe during an afternoon show that literally forced my jaw to my chest. Melber spoke about the positive associated with the courage and gutsyness (my word) of the appearing and revealing one's self to the extended press conference. As horrified as I was of Melber's affectionate remarks, I was overwhelming in my praise of a show guest who refuted Melber praised without a direct challenge to the new MSNBC show host.

We do not expect such 'gushing' regarding Christe from media host on the Left. We truly expect more scrutiny and less gullible affinity for American jingoism.

Christe as bully.  "Loving bully."

We can go on and on into the Christe facade that many in the nation find attractive, desirable, and enviable. And, those same people are gullible enough to have voted for George W. Bush TWICE!

Since, we have posited about the almost identical nature of Nixon and Christe, let's look at a few examples. You will find direct links with embeds in case the embed fails to show properly. We are certain within the week, you will see much more via liberal media.

But Nixon and his aides also discussed ways in which the President could use subterfuge to undermine his enemies and revenge perceived injustices. This became especially important to the President in 1972, when he was determined to win the election more comfortably than he had in 1968. (bold font added by The Pardu)
