Nevada Rancher Clive Bundy; Violates US Law, Garners Support From Conservative America

“It’s a freedom issue. It’s not about cows. It’s a state rights issue.”
Clive Bundy exemplifies the fallacy and wrongs of the conservative America's "state's rights."

A few days ago while flipping across news networks, I inadvertently committed a cardinal sin. I wasn't paying proper attention to my remote device choices and settled on a running account of the Nevada farmer with (crying daughter) who has stolen from the US for years. Some media are reporting Clive stopped paying grazing taxes. After eight minutes watching the segment, I was horrified when Sean Hannity cane upon the screen. For the first time ever since its inception, I exposed my self to Fox News far longer than sanity would permit. The after-experience was tantamount to dentist removal of a rear molar as the full effect of Novocain starts to wear-off.

The Koch brothers Americans for Prosperity (AFP) has come-out in support of Clive Bundy, Fox News has joined the anti-US government kerfuffle and all right-wing social media has joined the fray in support of the "taker."  Of course, white supremacist groups and hate groups are showing their alliance with Far-Right America via stepping up support for Bundy and using the confrontation (and Bundy's breaking US law) to recruit in the Las Vegas area.

The Raw Story,  the Nevada View and Huff PO have published articles on Clive and his Anarcho Militia and anti-administration supporters.

Excerpts
Bundy, 67, doesn't recognize federal authority on land he insists belongs to Nevada. His Mormon family has operated a ranch since the 1870s near the small town of Bunkerville and the Utah and Arizona lines....
The fight between Bundy and the Bureau of Land Management widened into a debate about states' rights and federal land-use policy. The dispute that ultimately triggered the roundup dates to 1993, when the bureau cited concern for the federally protected tortoise in the region. The bureau revoked Bundy's grazing rights after he stopped paying grazing fees and disregarded federal court orders to remove his animals.
Kornze's announcement came after Bundy repeatedly promised to "do whatever it takes" to protect his property and after a string of raucous confrontations between his family members and supporters and federal agents during the weeklong operation.

Sean Hannity inflames brewing ‘range war’ between feds, militia over NV cattle roundup (via Raw Story )
Sean Hannity promoted a stubborn Nevada rancher as a right-wing martyr Wednesday night on his Fox News program. The conservative pundit hosted rancher Cliven Bundy, who has threatened a “range war” over the roundup of more than 900 of his cattle…

The Nevada View's Justin McAffee published a piece on Friday, April 11 that more than adroitly defines Bundy's misconception of US Law and sheds a telling light on people and movements who quickly jump to the aid of certain people who break US Law. Linked.  McAffee simply nails it!

It’s a state rights issue!

And there-in lies the very core of our contempt for all things "State's Rights." The phrase is nothing more than mantra facilitate and validate the wishes of conservative America.

Update: more perspective
