Rand Paul Plays Loose With Facts And Earns A Much Deserved Fact Check

Wonder why he was so quiet during the Bush Years?
Well, he wasn't a Senator but there is
no credible record of such words form 2000 - 2008.
Rand Paul rode the 2010 tide of Charles and David Koch's Tea Party and won a seat in the US Senate. That means progressive and liberal mid-term voting indifference, and conservative angst about the loss of the White House in 2008/09 handed the nation one of the most zany politicians in modern times.

We are paying the price via a US House of Representatives infested with people who's ambition in life is to return governance to "state's rights." State's Rights means complete delivered of all governance to the welcome oligarchy of the Kochs, Sheldon Adelsons, and their respective billionaire cabals. We are also paying the price via congressional approval ratings at the lowest level ever and exposure to a US Senator who often comes across as off kilter regarding mental acuity and personal veracity. Paul will climb up on any stage and literally say whatever comes to mind without regard for the impact and  honesty of those remarks.

This week, I heard Paul say the nation is in the midst of a recession.  Factually, the nation is far from working through a recession.

Huffington Post March 10, 2014....
The U.S. economy recovered from the recession quicker than every country except Germany, according to a report released Monday by President Barack Obama's economic team. The report offers a comprehensive look at the progress made since the financial crisis of 2007-08, which marked the worst recession since the Great Depression. The chart below shows the output per working-age person among the 12 countries that suffered most from the banking crisis.
us economic recovery
The chart shows that the United States is just one of two countries where GDP has returned to pre-crisis levels, the other being Germany. The report primarily attributes the U.S. economic recovery to Obama's 2009 stimulus package, known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The Council of Economic Advisers estimated in the report that the Recovery Act, at a macroeconomic level, saved or created roughly 6 million job-years, where a job-year is defined as "one full-time job for one year."
Granted we live in a precarious economic world that has the ever-present danger of slipping into recession. We are not currently in a recession and to claim such is callous and over-the-top dishonest. Is Paul showing proper mental acumen and honesty by railing about a recession that is not factual not reality?

Fact Check Dot Org probed more of Paul's comments. The fact-checking authority found his comments in other areas typical Paul: made-up, fabricated, and simply irresponsible.

Before the Fact Check piece, one last word about Paul's failure to grasp reality or his feeble attempts to misinform. Paul actually stood on the same stage and exhorted the GOP and the nations conservatives to become more divers and inclusive. Doesn't he realize US conservatism has moved to a place replete with fear and loathing of all things non-white? Why is it hard for Paul to recognize changing ethnic and gender demographics are stretching the comfort zone of a party that is 92% white and dominated by men? Paul is fully aware of such, understands his party will not change and is using the demagoguery to simply appeal beyond the GOP? I place my bet on the latter! Paul really isn't a very honest person.
