Hannity Gives His Viewers An Abusive Interview; Not Backed-Up By Rivera

"IS HAMAS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION?! WHAT PART OF THIS CAN'T YOU GET THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD?" Sean Hannity

Last Thursday Sean Hannity sat with Yousef Munayyer — a Palestinian-American who is the executive director of the Jerusalem Fund, (AKA The Jerusalem Fund for Education and Community Development).  As should have been expected with Fox News evening hosts, their guest are either to the letter co-singers of the hosts comments, or they are a target of abusive tone and finger-pointing target if they do not agree.  Do you recall this episode with Bill O'Reilly unloading on Alan Colmes? Linked, here.

While I spend less time watching Fox News than the amount of time consumed in eyelash moistening the Cornea, I am aware of the role of guest for Hannity and O'Reilly.  Evening Host Megyn Kelly doesn't seem to use her guest as punching bags, but she certainly invites guest who tolerate the inane and insane, like this (white Santa and white Jesus). Did you notice the grinning and accommodating crew of "white people" to discuss the heartfelt screed of the African-American write at Slate? After a few days off and I am sure serious strategy from Fox News management, she comes back with this.  Humor, tongue in cheek, fun for the kids a few days before Christmas? How many kids are up watching Megyn Kelly at 10:00PM (eastern time)" Mind you, kids who have as much faith in Santa as the Tooth Fairy; true believers watching The Kelly File! Lest we forget.......Pepper Spray?  Did I say: "co-signing" stooge, above?

I digress!

The Fox News, (evening) gentlemen are noted for on-camera entertainment that rivals any WWE matches. Their show broadcast model seems crafted for an audience that thrives on angst, Obama derangement, at times doses of racism (O'Reilly, blacks nine year old boys and girls smoking pot), yelling and generally television host behavior that clones Limbaugh's radio model. Television offers opportunity for visuals, thus adding a dynamic to Hannity and O'Reilly's performances unnecessary for the ideology leader of the GOP (Limbaugh).

The current invasion of Gaza via the Israeli government and IDF, offered Hannity an opportunity to send his viewers off to bed as aroused as an 18 year old teenager with his or her sexual preference fantasy come true and within reach. Testosterone heaven! Yousef Munayyer served as the ideal punching bag for Hannity's performance and the perfect public sacrifice for hsi audience.

Hannity: "IS HAMAS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION?! WHAT PART OF THIS CAN'T YOU GET THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD?"
Munayyer: "Do I get to say anything in this conversation?"
What you are about to see is Disgusting and indecent!

Entertainment for some, contemptuous for others.

Russell Brand's Trews...and his take on the Hannity performance. The segment is intermixed with footage from the Hannity's segment; forgive the redundancy.

Now, what is another broadcast model for Fox News? When criticism ensues, grab a Fox News (paid) contributor for even deeper co-signing of acts that actually are as child-like or ridiculous as one can imagine. Hannity's response to Russell Brand? UUUUMMM, let's drag Geraldo Rivera out for this one. Well, the segment did not goes as anticipated, or should I say as planned. Rivera wasn't so accommodating. He went rogue on Hannity's segment with the Jerusalem Fund director.

If you want to get a feel for Hannity's audience, checkout how he introduces the segment. He uses the word "tirade" regarding Brand's video within hours of the most heinous tirade from Fox News this year.

Even for the Fox News audience, the Yousef Munayyer segment was so very over-the-top and well past civil. In fact, Hannity's demeanor was outright unprofessional. For most networks, unprofessional is unacceptable and to be avoided at all cost. Well, I have keyboarded myself into a corner. We are talking Fox News aren't we?
