The Daily GOP Ignominious: Michael Grimm, R-NY (Felon)

In February 2010, New York Congressman and former FBI agent Michael Grimm published a press release about "unethical" money from Charles range, New York Member of the House of Representatives.

Way Back Machine

Staten Island, NY—February 26…Michael Grimm, a Republican candidate for Congress in New York’s 13th District today called for Congressman McMahon to return tainted money he received from Congressman Charles Rangel.
“The House ethics committee report finds Rangel guilty of violating House gift rules by accepting corporate-sponsored trips to the Caribbean in 2007 and 2008, a clear violation of House rules. And, there is still more to come,” said Grimm.
Grimm indicated that there is a much larger ethics investigation focusing on Rangel's use of official stationery to inappropriately raise money for a college center and worst of all, Rangel’s belated financial disclosure of hundreds of thousands of dollars in previously unreported assets and income.
In 2008, the Rangel Victory Fund made transfers to McMahon’s campaign account of $46,582.68 on August 20, $6,002.54 on September 8 and $1,797.26 on November 3. Rangel also gave McMahon $4,000 from his own campaign account on June 24.
Grimm continued, “At best Mr. Rangel has proven himself to be incompetent of administrating the tax code and at worse, he was cheating on his taxes. Either way his actions are unforgivable.
This is a time to stand up and do what is right. It is time for Mike McMahon to reject Washington’s business-as-usual ignorance of ethical failings. McMahon must return the $58,382.48 he received from Rangel’s campaign committee and victory fund.”

The Hill is reporting on Grimm's recent plea of "guilty" to charges of tax evasion.
Excerpt
Grimm called on McMahon to “stand up and do what is right” by returning more than $55,000 of donations from Rangel.
“At best Mr. Rangel has proven himself to be incompetent of administrating the tax code and at worse, he was cheating on his taxes.  Either way his actions are unforgivable,” Grimm’s press release said.
“It is time for Mike McMahon to reject Washington’s business-as-usual ignorance of ethical failings.”
As you probably know, Grimm has indicated he will not resign from Congress, thus proving he has the ethics comparable to The Scorpion and The Frog parable.

A scorpion asks a frog to carry him over a river. The frog is afraid of being stung during the trip, but the scorpion argues that if it stung the frog, both would sink and the scorpion would drown. The frog agrees and begins carrying the scorpion, but midway across the river the scorpion does indeed sting the frog, dooming them both. When asked why, the scorpion points out that this is its nature.
Why The Scorpion and The Frog parable?

According to the WIKI Writer:

"The fable is used to illustrate the position that no change can be made in the behaviour of the fundamentally vicious."
Grimm at his most vicious.....

Threatening a reporter with death or maiming via "throwing him over" the Capitol Building balcony.

If the Scorpion parable doesn't work for you, think in terms of extreme hypocrisy. Maybe this works better, and it totally embodies what I see all too often from the Right.
"Do as I say, not as I do."
