Obama Joke; Hateful Conservatives Go Nuts

Re-post from The Daily Kos

Obama Jokes About Republicans’ ‘Poorly-Written Letter To Iran’ – Hateful Conservatives Go Nuts (SCREENSHOTS)

There are few things one can count on in this world: There will always be 24 hours in a day, what goes up must come down, and if President Barack Obama speaks the Right will spew its venom. The latter was demonstrated in the aftermath of — oh, what the hell, we might as well just call it Gridiron-Dinner-Gate-Ghazi.
The Gridiron dinner is an annual event featuring songs and skips that poke fun at U.S. politicians — and President Obama kept the laughs coming — laughs he predicted would roll in at a faster rate than in years past. “I’m not saying I’m any funnier. I’m saying weed is now legal in D.C.,” the President quipped.

Speaking on the manufactured right-wing “controversy” surrounding Hillary Clinton’s completely legal use of a personal e-mail account for communications while she was Secretary of State, Obama joked:
“If you think about how things have changed since 2008, back then I was the young tech-savvy candidate of the future. Now I’m yesterday’s news and Hillary’s got a server in her house! I am so far behind.”
Getting older is an issue everyone faces, and the President admitted he is getting older and crankier as time goes on. “Next week I’m signing an executive order to get off my lawn,” he joked.

The President was certain to mention Boehner’s decision to invite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address Congress, as well:
“Coffee really disagrees with me these days –which is why John Boehner just invited coffee to address the joint House.”
The President responded to criticism over his decision to take a (gasp!) selfie in a viral video promoting the Affordable Care Act by bringing up Republicans’ most recent embarrassment to the nation — the treasonous letter 47 of them sent to Iranian leaders promising that any nuclear deal would be sabotaged:
“You don’t diminish your office by taking a selfie. You do it by sending a poorly written letter to Iran. Really. That wasn’t a joke.”
The President has also expressed his feelings in a more serious tone, saying that he is “embarrassed” for the 47 Senators who, in violation of the Logan Act, sent the letter.
Obama even poked fun at Scott Walker for recently  “punting” on whether or not he believes in evolution — by “punting” himself:
“(Walker) punted on the question of evolution, which I do think is a problem. I absolutely believe in the theory of evolution – when it comes to gay marriage.”
The President, who once opposed marriage equality, has repeatedly said over the years that his stance on the issue is “evolving.”
Walker also “punted” when asked if he believes Obama is a Christian — and the President addressed that, as well. “So, Gov. Walker,” Obama said, “salaam alaikum.”

President Obama even took a jab at Bush acolyte and former Mayor of New York City Rudy Giuliani’s claim that he “doesn’t love America.”:
“If I did not love America, I wouldn’t have moved here from Kenya.”
President Obama may have been simply joining in the fun an spirit of an evening in which politicians are encouraged to take jabs at one another, but conservatives were apoplectic upon learning of Barry Soetoro Osama Bin Hussein Obama-Hitler’s words.

Over at Weazel Zippers, which proudly gleans its “information” from “the bowels of the internet,” readers trashed Obama:

Unfortunately, the current state of conservatives is that President Obama can’t so much as tell a joke without a bunch of insanely stupid white people throwing racist remarks in his face. Even more unfortunately these people, once every two years, take off their white hoods and robes. . . and vote.
