Ted Cruz Announces And Deeper Scrutiny Will Follow; "Imagine"

It is both sad and pathetic to see and hear Ted Cruz use the "Imagine" strategy for a political campaign that will fizzle like a Smoothie in Arizona's Death Valley. John Lennon in the early 1970s wrote and performed the most beautiful version of "Imagine" we can ever hope to experience.  As Cruz uses the mantra, I can only think of Lennon's rendition.

A midnight this morning Ted Cruz's staff tweeted his announcement to run for the GOP nomination in 2016.

Around mid-morning Crux (and his family) made the public announcement at a university founded by the late Reverend Falwell: Liberty University. Out of respect for the deceased, I will not explore the horrors of ultra-rightist Falwell, but we will be reporting on Cruz's strategic decision to secure political leverage via visiting the Falwell campus.

I have yet to validate claims (just reported on MSNBC's the Ed Show) of guest stating anyone on campus who did not attend the mega-church event would suffer a $10.00 fine.  Wow!

It appears Cruz will mantra  and moniker his campaign with "Imagine." Imagine the candidates first speech at a forced event and in front of a mega church crowd. If you read the TPI regularly you know my thoughts on mega-churches and their pastors.  If you do to visit regularly, see if you can find a mega-church pastor who doesn't live in mansion.  Enough said about that reality.

Imagine Cruz starting his speech with an iteration of his father fleeing Cuba for a life well north of the island.  Cruz leads with a person who has display over racism, and consistent bigotry under an umbrella of the church.

Imagine America electing a president who once led the GOP into a federal government shutdown that handed the healing US economy a $28 billion hit to GDP.

Better yet, imagine an electorate electing a president with a record without any appreciable degree of veracity in his oratory.

Republican from Texas

Ted Cruz, elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, is the former solicitor general for the state of Texas, previously serving as the director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission, an Associate Deputy Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice, and as a domestic policy advisor on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign, according to his campaign biography.

Only 18% of this rhetoric has any degree of veracity!

Let's hope Cruz's campaign does not decide to use Lennon's artistry as a backdrop for what will become an "imagine" campaign.
