We all know Donald Trump lies beyond any level exercised by Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan in 2012. He is the "master" television entertainer, and he will not hesitate to attempt to lie his way into the hearts of people who will follow him
around like a pied piper.
As time passes his subjects are being offered more lies, while most progressives continue to warn the coming of the apocalypse if Trump continues to garner sycophants.
The most obvious and most recent example of an unequivocal "gotcha" Trump came today via CNN. Trumps daily attack on someone (other than Ben Carson) who will possibly provide competition for the GOP nomination led to a foot-in-mouth lie unbecoming in modern politics.
Watch as Trump's early morning comments led to a video that flat-out repudiates his Afghanistan war lie. Trump spoke two weeks ago about the disastrous war against The Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Today, he attempted to sing a different song. The very media that has provided the carnival barker a platform for millions worked against him: archive video.
Trump knows the following statement was a lie. In fact, Politifact should have rated the comment a "Pants on Fire."
Trump says U.S. has 'highest tax rate anywhere in the world'
By Warren Fiske, Louis Jacobson on Tuesday, October 20th, 2015
Donald Trump promised tax cuts to a cheering crowd in Henrico County during his first presidential campaign rally in Virginia on Oct. 14.
"Our taxes - we just put in a plan the other day - we’re going to reduce taxes tremendously because we have the highest tax rate anywhere in the world and our middle class is being absolutely destroyed," Trump said. "It’s being destroyed."
We wondered whether the U.S. really does have the world’s highest tax rate. We asked Trump’s campaign for clarification and evidence but didn’t hear back.
So we’ll evaluate Trump’s claim within the context of which he was speaking - of tax burdens affecting most people. That leads us to income taxes.
