Palin's Veteran Remarks To Cover Domestic Abuse Lingers

Do you recall this malarkey?

The Mashable
Speaking in Tulsa, Oklahoma, at her first campaign appearance since endorsing Donald Trump for president, Palin addressed what she called the "elephant in the room."
She said that veterans like her son Track come back "a bit different, they come back hardened" after deployments, and that they wonder if they're respected for what they "so sacrificially have given to this country."

"It starts from the top," Palin continued. "The question though it comes from our own president, when they have to look at him and wonder, do you know what we go through, do you know what we're trying to do to secure America and to secure the freedoms that have been bequeathed us?" she added. "So when my own son is going through what he goes through, coming back, I can certainly relate with other families who feel these ramifications of some PTSD and some of the woundedness that our soldiers do return with."ds

Yes, Palin attributed her son's social behavior (as reported only days before her Trump appearance) to the President of the United States.  When questioned by CNN's Don Lemon the day after Palin's failed oratory, Trump said he encouraged Palin to "bring it up." So, Palin's son was inducted into the Army, served in the Iraq, and was discharged before President Obama took office, yet he became a campaign tool for Trump?

Fact!  Palin's son was an Army reservist who served in Iraq during the Bush Administration. Also, he did not serve in a forward (grunt) combat role.

I won't revisit Palin's family history of violent social interactions; we all know about the history. It should be noted within days of her ignoramus remarks she attempted to walk them back. She rightfully stated she spoke about Obama's lack fo support for Vets healthcare. The point of her comments, however, was delivered with the full intent to slam President Obama, and by doing so deliver false oratory of a lack of support from a democrat.

Early this morning Plai sat with The Today Show hosts, Matt Lauer and Savanna Guthrie, and disavowed her remarks.  I suppose after a bit of coaching and deep pundit analysis, she feels the following will whitewash her remarks.

We offer a Occupy Democrats short version for those, like me, who can not tolerate too many seconds of Palin's oratory.

So, The Today Show invited Palin on their air, surely to draw viewers, but how dare the host ask about an issue that reaches the US Presidency. The all too willing conservative talking head should probably have leveled her comments to the US Congress.  While the GOP has a majority in both houses of Congress, Palin chose to slam a president who has an admirable record in working for bettering the lives of veterans and active duty members of our military.
