Trump's Late November Diversion And Another Touch Of Racism

Painting depicting Pocahontas "saving" John Smith's life, at the Richmond, Virginia, Court Annex.

As Donald Trump shepherds us into a dark place decorated with national embarrassment, racism and over the sillinesses, we find it amazing the toils of conservative surrogates and paid CNN contributors.

The following segment is eight minutes at runtime, yet the segment truly embodies the depths and scpe of Trump's Pied Piper leadership into an abyss of soical disgust.

Of course, you know Trump returned from his Thanksgiving holiday with a hefty dose of conservative racism. Watch a CNN panel discussion fall to unhinged and typically Trumpian chaotic.

US History and Pocahontas

In this chromolithograph credited to the New England Chromo. Lith. Company, around 1870, Pocahontas saves the life of John Smith. The scene is idealized and relies on stereotypes of Native Americans rather than reliable information about the particulars of this historical moment. There are no mountains in Tidewater Virginia, for example, and the Powhatans lived not in tipis but in thatched houses. And the scene that Smith famously described in his Generall Historie (1624) did not take place outdoors but in a longhouse.
The Smithsonian Magazine and The Real Pocahontas.  She was a truly national shaping figure lost in US HISTORY and made a slur via a classless and evil president.
