Trump: The Carnival Barker Backtracks On Trade War (Winning?)

Trump Tweet (early March)

When a country (USA) is losing many billions of dollars on trade with virtually every country it does business with, trade wars are good, and easy to win. Example, when we are down $100 billion with a certain country and they get cute, don’t trade anymore-we win big. It’s easy!

Have you ever, when you were a preteen or teen, paid the fare to enter a carnival? How about one in the carnival your young mind could not resist the temptation of seeing one of those freaks of nature (or fake made-up freak) exhibits inside the tan colored tent?

In the end, the exhibit was either a major disappointment or it outraged you due to the level of its cheap see-through trickery. You wanted to either suck it in and absorb the ripoff or your decision to show a bit of outrage to the carnival barker who sold you the ticket. Upon leaving the tent you can not find the barker anyplace. He or she have run off to safe zones when other barkers await their turn in front of the tent.  Ultimately, you would have been better off to simply bare the loss (money, time, and ego) while moving on to the Cotton Candy stand or the Corn Dog concession. There would be no saving grace with the carnival barker; you were simply sold a bag of nothingness while your ticket spending became revenue for the slight of hand.

"....trade wars are good and easy to win." stated the barker.

Let's move to April of this year. The level of vacuum suckling from Trump on the Chinese leader is worry of infomercials on cable TV.

Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed numerous examples of Midwest farmers retailing about China efforts to avoid paying Trump's tariffs. Their "rural" president hit them right where it hurts most: sells of goods in Chinese markets.

China aggressively responded to our shallow president and the farmers also responded. The New York Times early April. Beer brewers (yes BEER brewers) and car manufacturer also do not find Trump and his economic team's brainchild tariffs palatable. The list of producers is as long as Scott Pruitt's list of administration scandal.

Now jump to this morning on the safe havens of Fox News Sunday.

Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin
Politico excerpt
The administration had threatened $50 billion to $150 billion in tariffs on Chinese goods as a way to deter the theft of U.S. intellectual property and forced transfers of technology. Beijing countered by threatening tariffs on $50 billion worth of U.S. farm, chemical and other exports.

But Mnuchin said Sunday that the two sides agreed on a framework for reducing the U.S. trade deficit with China and addressing technology trade irritants during high-level talks on Thursday and Friday, although more meetings are required to finish the deal.

"We're putting the trade war on hold," Mnuchin said in an interview on "Fox News Sunday." "Right now, we have agreed to put tariffs on hold while we try to execute the framework."
"We're putting the trade war on hold."

Trump has an administration boiling over in corruption. Some are now saying that Trump not only didn't "drain the swamp" he raised the swamp levees to allow for more corruption than any administration in US history. Trump is personally dangling over an abyss of (alleged) pay-for-sex partners (AKA porn stars.... without confirmation of protected sex). His family members seem to the person have some form of money malfeasance floating atop their heads. Even a Trump wife cohort is reported to be associated with inauguration funds which have disappeared.  Trump has yet to build a wall along the southern bored He has also not pulled out of NAFTA.  Do you recall any Treasury declaration of China as an international money manipulator?

Campaign promises which now seem much more like this guy (Video is a bit dark, but carries the point well).
