GOP :"Shock & Awe" against women: Florida campaign

Sexual Assault is a world problem.

Assault on the gentler and more vulnerable gender (and much more intelligent)  has been with mankind probably since man noticed a libido blissful difference in himself and his Earthly companion called "woman". Sexual abuse is a serious problem that has only started to ease out of the closet within the past quarter century. Over the past quarter century organizations for assistance to assault victims have proliferated and produced considerable success. Many agencies and programs have been successful in helping victims back from the dark depths of physical and mental shame and hurt, as well as providing education in sexual abuse. One such organization has just been attacked in the State of Florida. It was attacked by the Florida Governor. Governor Rick Scott, dealt a damaging blow to education towards and prevention of prevention abuse.

The National Sexual Violence Resource Center, Founded by the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape, established the month of April as Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM).  The SAAM  mission and goal is posted on its website as follows.

"The goal of SAAM is to raise public awareness about sexual violence and to educate communities and individuals on how to prevent sexual violence."

The month of April has been designated Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) in the United States.
This April, the 2012 Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) campaign centers on promoting healthy sexuality to prevent sexual violence.

As we move towards the end of Sexual  Assault Awareness Month, we are reminded of just how deeply the GOP perpetrates its "War on Women".  I actually believe "War" is an unfair and misrepresenting word; the GOP has perpetrated, and is perpetrating, pure "Shock and Awe" against women.  A war is like a dance; it takes two forces to involve in war. The GOP has no entity beyond women and the nation's progressives fighting back against its 'Shock and Awe'.

Tea Party Governor, Rick Scott, launches the latest "surge" against women.

Mother Jones' Adam Weinstein reported Tuesday on Governor Scott's latest act of the ridiculous.

Mother Jones: Florida Gov. Rick Scott Slashes Rape Counseling During Sexual Assault Awareness Month

With a flick of his pen, Florida's tea party Republican governor, Rick Scott, used a line-item veto to cut funding to the state's rape crisis centers last week—in the middle of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The state legislature had approved $1.5 million to help close the gap so the centers could keep serving the approximately 700,000 women in Florida who've been victims of rape. But in reviewing the state's $70 billion budget, Scott decided last Tuesday that the .002 percent slated for the crisis centers was just too much. He used his line-item power to veto the funds, alongside $141 million in other cuts targeting a wide range of projects, including an indigent psychiatric medicine program, Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County, the Alzheimer's Family Care Center of Broward County, and a state settlement for child welfare case managers who were owed overtime. The entire list of vetoed programs is available here (PDF).

Weinstein's article

After reading the Weintstien article, is there any doubt GOP regressionism is a mission for the Grand Ol Party?

Progressive, Independent and rational conservative voters must absolutely join in combating GOP Shock & Awe. The perfect battle ground  is the led up to November 2012.
