FBI, OWS, And The Same ol Song!

For some unknown reason over the past week I inadvertently ran across video about a 1960s and 1970s FBI (and other intel agencies) monitoring and suppression program then called "COINTELPRO".  Two points related to COINTELPRO.

For point of reference and perspective here is the link to my post of yesterday. COINTELPRO: Too Young To Know...Watch.

Is it possible I was experiencing a clairvoyant experience?

Furthermore history really does repeat itself.

In late December 2012, The Guardian.UK's Naomi Wolf  reported the US Occupy Wall Street Movement was the victim of an organized and well executed plan of what I will call suppression. The Guardian.UK article links to a a secret FBI document from the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund. The document is embedded below and is available for viewing all 112 pages via pages, text or scroll through. You can also find the document form its original source via JusticeOnline Dot Org

Excerpts
I. FBI documents just obtained by the Partnership for Civil Justice Fund (PCJF) pursuant to the PCJF’s Freedom of Information Act demands reveal that from its inception, the FBI treated the Occupy movement as a potential criminal and terrorist threat even though the agency acknowledges in documents that organizers explicitly called for peaceful protest and did “not condone the use of violence” at occupy protests.
II. Documents show the spying abuses of the FBI’s “Campus Liaison Program” in which the FBI in Albany and the Syracuse Joint Terrorism Task Force disseminated information to “sixteen (16) different campus police officials,” and then “six (6) additional campus police officials.” Campus officials were in contact with the FBI for information on OWS. A representative of the State University of New York at Oswego contacted the FBI for information on the OWS protests and reported to the FBI on the SUNY-Oswego Occupy encampment made up of students and professors.

III. Documents released show coordination between the FBI, Department of Homeland Security and corporate America. They include a report by the Domestic Security Alliance Council (DSAC), described by the federal government as “a strategic partnership between the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security and the private sector,” discussing the OWS protests at the West Coast ports to “raise awareness concerning this type of criminal activity.” The DSAC report shows the nature of secret collaboration between American intelligence agencies and their corporate clients - the document contains a “handling notice” that the information is “meant for use primarily within the corporate security community. Such messages shall not be released in either written or oral form to the media, the general public or other personnel…” (The DSAC document was also obtained by the Northern California ACLU which has sought local FBI surveillance files.)

One must wonder if these intel agencies and monitoring collaborations were deployed at Tea Party rallies. Some Tea party rallies took place with armed participants! I personally cannot help, but reflect back to the time of COINTELPRO for perspective on how such activist groups were infiltrated, manipulated and generally suppressed. While I recall similar activities against hate groups, I wonder if efforts to disrupt the operation of groups with racism and murder at its core received the same level of intervention as COINTELPRO.
