Romney's Says He Lost Because He Failed To Attract Minorities!

Romney and his front man, Sunnunu. A 1900's political disgrace, re-cycled for Romney.
The headline of 2013. "My Campaign Fell Short In Attracting Minority Voters"

Mitt Romney continues to reach for justification related to his landslide defeat.  Finally, the very flawed former candidate reaches into a bag and pulls out the reason he was trounced in 2012: minorities were not in his corner. After the headline, allow a bit of exploration of Romney's 2012 electoral reflection.

Mitt Romney: My Campaign Fell Short In Attracting Minority Voters

The Huffington Post  |  By

Hindsight is tough. The sad reality for Romney is he started out of the gate on the wrong track. During an age of internet proliferation comparable to home color televisions in the last 1950s, Romeny and his team failed to properly reachout. They failed to even give a faint of interest in African Mexican voters. When we use verbiage like "failed to reachout out," we are being benignant. The Romney camp did not give a damn about the black voter!
The Grio published a piece in August 2012 of the Romney Campaign webpage with a glaring omission of an African-American drop drown menu.

Black Republicans: Lack of Romney outreach to blacks ‘shameful’

Romney campaign website.
Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign website includes a category for “Communities,” under which you’ll find nearly every kind of demographic group: “Catholics for Romney,” “Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Romney,” farmers and ranchers, lawyers, Jewish and Polish Americans, veterans and military families, young Americans, even Hispanics, under the banner “Juntos for Romney” — which may or may not be ironic given Romney’s stance on “self-deportation.” But one thing you won’t find on the site: African-Americans for Romney

Romney's chief and most visible campaign manager was like a campaign 'forest fire' when one considers his support for diversity. John Sunnunu was the political train wreck of the 21st Century.

Obama "Lazy and Detached?" Sunnunu mentioned the economy and facts did not support his "coded' racist attack. President Obama's stimulus immediately stopped the nation's slide into a Bush/Cheney Great Depression.

Martin Bashir, MSNBC and a clip from Piers Morgan's show on CNN.  Our interest is the first minute of the clip. The segment goes on for 10:00 additional minutes. It offers good commentary, but nothing that will provide race baiting impact beyond Sunnunu's remarks.

Yes, Mitt Romney failed to attract the minority vote and his campaign team also drove him farther and farther from the 'decency" vote.

LONDON — Mitt Romney would do a better job than President Obama of highlighting the Anglo-Saxon relationship between the U.S. and Britain, according to the London Telegraph’s interview with two Romney advisers who declined to give their name for the story.
“We are part of an Anglo-Saxon heritage, and he [Romney] feels that the special relationship is special,”an adviser told the British paper. “The White House didn’t fully appreciate the shared history we have.”

Mitt Romney went on Univision. He then called undocumented immigrants "illegal aliens" as though they were an invading horde determined to destroy America. And then... well, we'd like to preface this by saying we would really like to actually cover important issues, but then Mitt keeps doing interesting things like, I dunno, intentionally darkening his skin to grub for Latino votes. Free campaign advice, Mitt. DON'T DO THAT. Also, don't call HUMAN BEINGS "illegal aliens."

How insulting and cheap a political ploy? We wonder why Romney did not apply a bit of equality and apply 'dark face' to appear at his ill-fated NAACP speech. Cheap political tricks such as the tanning of his face was an indication of contempt and disrespect for his (subject/victim) audience.

Let's now move to two very distinct reasons Romney continues to show he lives in a fantasy world.

Published on Oct 27, 2012
Colin Powell's former chief of staff condemned the Republican Party on Friday night, telling MSNBC's Ed Schultz, "MY PARTY IS FULL OF RACISTS."
Retired Army Col. Lawrence Wilkerson made the comment in response to Mitt Romney campaign surrogate John Sununu's suggestion on Thursday that Powell's endorsement of President Barack Obama's re-election was motivated by race. Wilkerson, who served as Powell's chief of staff when the general was secretary of state during the first George W. Bush term, told Schultz that he respected Sununu "as a Republican, as a member of my party," but did not "have any respect for the integrity of the position that [Sununu] seemed to codify."
When asked by Schultz what, if anything, the remark said about the attitudes of the Republican Party, Wilkerson said:
My party, unfortunately, is the basti on of those people -- not all of them, but most of them -- who are still basing their positions on race. Let me just be candid: My party is full of racists, and the real reason a considerable portion of my party wants President Obama out of the White House has nothing to do with the content of his character, nothing to do with his competence as commander-in-chief and president, and everything to do with the color of his skin, and that's despicable.
The retired colonel also said that "to say that Colin Powell would endorse President Obama because of his skin color is like saying Mother Theresa worked for profit."

Romney refuse to accept that he is (or was) and indicator  of the make-up of his party. The GOP is 92% white and the libertarian party is predominately white. How could he truly expect to reverse decades of political history and existential reality? Even if his campaign had accomplished a modicum of outreach, avoided traipsing around the nation spewing racist remarks and offending people overseas, he would still have fallen shy of winning the 2012 election.

The New York Times 2012 Exit Poll data is often linked (here) as evidence of Romney's frequent visit to the "Twilight Zones" of his mind.

And the former candidate laments...
