Schumer On Morning Joe, Stands Like A True Democrat

Chuck Schumer on The Morning Joe Show

“The Koch brothers aren’t just sitting there innocently on the side,” Schumer said. “They’re spending $40, $50 million in ads that are not focused on their real agenda, which is just eliminating all regulation on corporations, cutting taxes to virtually nothing. And so that demands a response. So I don’t feel sorry for them.”

Despite Joe Scarborough's conservatism, I once started each weekday with my television sets on The Morning Joe Show. After a couple of years of close scrutiny, after an ad campaign that validated a sort of serious ego trip (The Abbey Road commercials,) and major groveling to Scarborough from Mika Brezinski and Chief Groveler Will Geist, my viewing habits took a 180 degree turn.

And, then there was this. The video is obviously from  a handheld device as it moves and rolls a while the sound quality is not good. Linked.

And, this during a Scarborough attack against the White House Press Secretary Jay Carney via use of the "F" Word. Linked.

As a conservative MSNBC franchise that garners $100,000 per week to the Scarborough, the show is certainly run with a focus of a slightly more professional platform than Fox and Friends.

The perfect characterization of Joe Scarborough and his "embarrassingly superficial" perspective on Israel/Palestine as well stated by Dr. Zbigniew Brezenski. Linked. (50 second mark to 1:20 mark).

On March 6th, 2014, Scarborough launched into "lovefest" over the Koch brothers while soliciting back-up from his Chief Groveler.  Scarborough rattled off a short list of "great things" the Kochs have done for New York City, the Arts and faded his comments into a pitch-off to Geist. See the 1:40 mark until Scarborough, buoyed by his groveling crew, launches into Harry Reid's characterization of the Kochs as "UN-American."
After the "good for America" co-joined attack from the Morning Joe crew, with Wille labeling Reid's "addicted to Koch" as beneath the office, Joe turns to the guest "blue-dog" Harold Ford with indicting remarks in support of the Kochs. How much could MSNBC possibly pay Ford to sit quietly and take the obviously staged presentation from the Joe show crew?

Joe towards the end of the segment asked Ford about the characterization of being Un-American when you are with the majority of Americans.

I doubt very seriously if Joe can substantiate his assertion that most Americans support the political meandering, social meddling and money trail of the Kochs. Next, inviting Harold Ford on the show to sit as a 'lashing; subject was as weak as it gets.  Ford has spoken on the Morning Joe Show in support of the Keystone XL Pipeline: a project the Kochs stand to gain billions upon completion and eventual production of Canadian Tar Sands. The show was a complete farce.

The Kochs unarguably support many causes. They provide funding for research, contribute to specific universities, and yes, they support the Arts (particularly in NYC).  We would be remiss if we presented from one perspective only. However, the MSNBC segment by design was overly biased and, frankly, almost sugary Saccharin(y) in its disregard for issues that affect large swaths of the population.

No one on the set even mentioned a few "UN-American" items from the Kochs. The brothers have funneled money through PACs and community organizations in support of segregation schools in North Carolina, and I have heard they are also working against public schools in a community in Michigan. If the Kochs are such great Americans as stated by Scarborough and his grovelers, why would they need a money tree such as this?

The following image shows the extent to which Koch money works to buy our elected officials.

The brothers are the catalyst behind and a foundation for the Tea Party.  If you are not a hardcore conservative you know the Tea Party and you know what the movement has done to US politics. If you are well read and up on current events, you know the Kochs gave birth to the Tea Party and the genesis reaches well back past the election of Barack Obama.  Linked.

The New Yorker Magazine's Jane Mayer published a piece in August 2010 from which WIKI extracted a relevant excerpt.

Jane Mayer article in The New Yorker In an article in the August 30, 2010 issue of the New Yorker, writer Jane Mayer wrote,

The Kochs are longtime libertarians who believe in drastically lower personal and corporate taxes, minimal social services for the needy, and much less oversight of industry – especially environmental regulation. These views dovetail with the brothers' corporate interests. ... Greenpeace issued a report identifying the company as a 'kingpin of climate science denial.' The report purported to show that, from 2005 to 2008, the Kochs vastly outspent ExxonMobil in giving money to organizations fighting legislation related to climate change, underwriting a huge network of foundations, think tanks, and political front groups. Indeed, the brothers have funded opposition campaigns against so many Obama Administration policies – from health-care reform to the economic-stimulus program – that, in political circles, their ideological network is known as the "Kochtopus."
According to Mayer: "The Koch brothers are known for their strongly conservative politics and for their efforts to finance a network of advocacy groups whose goal is to move the country to the right."[102]

We offer kudos to Chuck Schumer for standing tall and supporting the "NEW" Democratic strategy to go straight-out at the Koch brothers. If the deeply conservative libertarians will pump over half a billion dollars into anti-democrat campaigns, anti-Obama and ($200 plus million) Anti-ACA initiatives, the Democrats have an obligation to 'call-out' the Kochs.

It was sad to see paid progressive pundits sit with Joe, Mika and Wille to take a lashing about the wonders and virtues of the Kochs. The reality is much different than portrayed buy the Morning Joe crew!
