US captures suspect in Benghazi attacks

Alleged suspect in attack on US consulate in Benghazi has been captured. 

Multiple media are reporting President Obama gave the "go ahead" to move on Ahmed Abu Khattala last Friday. he was capture by US Special Ops and FBI operatives on Sunday.

Khattala is currently on a one was 'cruise' via the US Navy back to the United States. 

Khattala has been reported to living a care free and unconcerned existence in Libya while for time to time claiming no operational involvement in the consulate attack. In August to 2013 he agreed to and sat for an interview with CNN correspondent Arwa Darmon.

Business Insider is reporting with as much detail as we can locate over the past hour. Fox News also appears to have detailed information related to the capture. We can only hope the Fox News information is accurate. Rest assured we will update the story as the day progresses.

• Native of Benghazi in eastern Libya
• Construction worker by trade
• Spent several years in Col Muammar Gaddafi's notorious Abu Salim prison in Tripoli
• Formed his own small militia during the anti-Gaddafi uprising
• Denies any links to al-Qaeda but has expressed admiration for it
• Also denies any role in the attack on the US embassy in 2012, but eyewitnesses report him being there
• US state department says he is a senior leader in Islamist group Ansar al-Sharia
