Romney Goes "Etch-A-Sketch"...Champion of the Poor and Middle Class!

Mitt Romney has "Etch-A-Sketched" the core of his coming announcement for his run for the GOP nomination for president in 2016.

From complete indifference to the impoverished and the middle class in the 2012 campaign (47%) his (epiphany laden) 2015 mantra in support of ending poverty and helping the middle class.

"Etch-A-Sketch" may work on GOP rank and file, but Romney's record of lying, misinformation and misrepresentation is politicking at its worse. Do you recall this August 2012 piece from Vanity Fair? One former employee of Bain Capital recalls a "boss" who was "nice" but one who encouraged "falsifying."

person who worked for Mitt Romney at the consulting firm Bain and Co. in 1977 remembers him with mixed feelings. “Mitt was … a really wonderful boss,” the former employee says. “He was nice, he was fair, he was logical, he said what he wanted … he was really encouraging.” But Bain and Co., the person recalls, pushed employees to find out secret revenue and sales data on its clients’ competitors. Romney, the person says, suggested “falsifying” who they were to get such information, by pretending to be a graduate student working on a project at Harvard. (The person, in fact, was a Harvard student, at Bain for the summer, but not working on any such projects.) “Mitt said to me something like ‘We won’t ask you to lie. I am not going to tell you to do this, but [it is] a really good way to get the information.’ … I would not have had anything in my analysis if I had not pretended.

“It was a strange atmosphere. It did leave a bad taste in your mouth,” the former employee recalls.

The salient point of the brief excerpt for the lengthy Vanity Fair piece: Romney will not hesitate to lie and mislead. In 2012, his serial lying was surpassed only be his vice presidential candidate, Paul Ryan's (e.g., record marathon, camera laden food pantry invasion) complete devotion to misrepresentation.

A few months before the Vanity Fair piece, the elitist Top .05% (er) spoke to a group of five figure per plate Boca Raton upper-crust and he went "elitist" to the  max.

“I think it’s about envy,” Romney told NBC’s Matt Lauer. “I think it’s about class warfare.”
Asked if “questions about the distribution of wealth” are fair or unfair, “I think it’s fine to talk about those things in quiet rooms,” Romney said, adding that for Obama to make this a campaign issue is “envy-oriented.”

From "quiet rooms" in 2012, to full central campaign theme in 2016? The ultimate of in congruent and validation of Romney's life as an uber wealthy elitist who quietly relishes his wealth like a modern day Silas Marner in quiet rooms with other uber wealthy elitist.

I posit there are very few uber wealthy elitist (like Romney) who during the course of four years reverse all vestiges of their elitist paradigm. Unless, and of course the elitist vying for the GOP nomination for the 2016 ticket.

Your GOP at work! From Bobby Jindal in London making a complete fool of himself quoting Fox News mantra (No-Go Zones) to Romney changing his colors with the hope of a nomination. I should use a different characterization of Romeny's "Etch-A-Sketch". He deployed a "change of color" in the 2012 visit with Uni-vision.
