Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson at CPAC.....?

There was a time in my life when the very image of the man imaged above induced instant reflection of Al Qaeda chieftains. He possessed the look, he speaks religious dogma, and he appeals to a small audience of wacked-out sycophants who are as loyal as Al Qaeda fighters.

Actually, my contempt for the Bayou Bigot exploded like nuclear fission on reading a few 2013 comments from the man.

During an interview with GQ's Drew Magary:

December 2013

On the issue of black reaction to Jim Crow and southern oppression.
“I never, with my eyes, saw the mistreatment of any black person," Robertson is quoted in GQ. "Not once. Where we lived was all farmers. The blacks worked for the farmers. I hoed cotton with them. I’m with the blacks, because we’re white trash. We’re going across the field.... They’re singing and happy. I never heard one of them, one black person, say, ‘I tell you what: These doggone white people’—not a word!... Pre-entitlement, pre-welfare, you say: Were they happy? They were godly; they were happy; no one was singing the blues.”

The Right-wing demagogue in 2009 went here:

Huffington Post December 2013

“Make sure that she can cook a meal. You need to eat some meals that she cooks, check that out. Make sure she carries her Bible. That’ll save you a lot of trouble down the road," Robertson said.

He then went on to say that men should wed girls who are young.
“They got to where they're getting hard to find, mainly because these boys are waiting ‘til they get to be about 20 years old before they marry 'em,” Robertson said. “Look, you wait ‘til they get to be 20 years old the only picking that’s going to take place is your pocket. You got to marry these girls when they are about 15 or 16. They’ll pick your ducks."
Robertson married his wife Kay when she was just 16 years old...

Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson uses vile stereotypes to tell GQ his thoughts on LGBT people

“It seems like, to me, a vagina—as a man—would be more desirable than a man’s anus. That’s just me. I’m just thinking: There’s more there! She’s got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what I’m saying? But hey, sin: It’s not logical, my man. It’s just not logical.
And later in the article:
Start with homosexual behavior and just morph out from there. Bestiality, sleeping around with this woman and that woman and that woman and those men,” he says. Then he paraphrases Corinthians: “Don’t be deceived. Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God. Don’t deceive yourself. It’s not right.”

If the GOP was as socially sanctimonious as it purports a speaker such as the Bayou Bigot would never make the the invitation list.

Watch and listen to the Talking Points Memo piece below. As you view the piece, think about the current consideration of Scott Walker as president with a track record that includes a dropout from college with a 2.3 Grade Point Average. The issues is not an elitist position of college degree vs. non-college degree; the issues has more to do with commitment, perseverance and attainment of goals with the ultimate benefit:  an advanced level of education. Education matters.
