The Daily GOP Ignominious: Fox News "Yellow (Electronic) Journalism

Wayne (CIA Operative) Simmons, as fake as the come and arrested by the FBI. Additionally, Fox News hero talking head.

Alas, Fox News wasn't the only media that bit and hooked like and un-gamely Catfish. One noted conservative social media page was so runneth over with Wayne Simmons, site developers have spent hours scrubbing the site of references to Simmons. (See below).

Before we post and excerpt and link from Media Matters regarding AIM' scrubbing, let's take a fanciful journey across ii instances of Simmons work in "jobbing" Fox News.

Typical Fox News...

The shame of it all.

The only statement from Fox News regarding their "star" talking head was; he never was paid to appear. Well, of course not and "inhaling Pepper Spray is like ingesting vegetables (Megyn Jelly and Bill O'Reilly), and 'white Santa; white Jesus (Megyn Kelly).

I digress.....

The social media site referenced above is a veritable rock star of anti-Democrat, anti-Obama, and  pro-war "rag."  The web page's heading below offers the prospect of an actual accuracy in media site, comparable to the left-leaning Media Matters.  It was a misnomer to put it mildly. As is the case with Fox News, a visit to the site won't yield even a modicum of fair and balanced "media watch" reporting. The visit will yield an eclectic assortment of anti-progressive reading and references which provided a fertile platform for the con man (Simmons).

Accuracy in Media (AIM)

Media Matters via an apparent tip from an eagle-eyed progressive, published a piece regarding AIM's Simmons cleansing.

On July 29, 2013, AIM announced in a press release that it was launching the Citizens' Commission on Benghazi (CCB) "with some of the country's top retired military officers and national security officials," including "Wayne Simmons, former CIA officer." That press release is no longer online. Other deletions include:
  • AIM removed Simmon's commission biography page, which boasted of how he "spent 27 years working with the CIA to combat terrorism, narco-terrorism and narcotics trafficking, arms smuggling, counterfeiting, cyber-terrorists, and industrial and economic espionage."
  • AIM removed a transcript of Simmons' speech at a September 16, 2013, press event.
  • AIM removed a press release announcing Simmons' presence at a July 30, 2013, press event.
  • AIM removed a March 7, 2014, release announcing that Simmons and other CCB members signed a letter calling on House Speaker John Boehner to form a select committee on Benghazi.
  • AIM removed an April 24, 2014, release announcing the "Citizen's Commission on Benghazi Reveals Damning New Report."
  • AIM removed an August 1, 2013, column touting Simmons' remarks at the July 2013 Benghazi press event. The column criticized Media Matters for calling AIM a "fringe" group. From the since-removed column:
Fox News and its mission as a communications entity for the Right and its committed anti-Obama paradigm has again resulted in being bitten by a con man.
