As Trump's World Turns: Antics At The Casket (Of An Expired Hero)

Image result for lying in state

When you enacted five bone spur deferments to avoid the Vietnam War. More specifically, to avoid any form of military service...

When you brag about not fighting in Vietnam via brandish a personal perception of sexual prowess...

Trump and Stern then returned to the discussion after speaking about single life and dating.
"Hey, so wait a second, get back to my question," Stern said. "Let's say you're with a hot chick, right? But you're so germ paranoid, and I'm germ paranoid, do you say to them, 'look you've got to go take a medical test before I do you.'"
"Well, you'd like to say that, and sometimes you do," added Trump. "The problem is that sometimes your own chemicals take over and you can't wait."
"So you'll just have straight intercourse with a rubber with them right?" Stern asked.
"Well, I don't know, you know there's lots of different ways of doing it. It's a very complicated subject. They say that more people were killed by women in this act than killed in Vietnam, OK," Trump said.
"Yes, that is true," replied Stern.
"You know, you get criticized for that statement, but that statement is very easily true," added Trump.
Stern responded, "I even went as far to say that you're braver than any Vietnam vet because you're out there screwing a lot of women."
"Getting the Congressional Medal of Honor, in actuality," said Trump.
Later in the interview Trump and Stern again compared avoiding STDs to Vietnam.

"I'm having a good time, but Howard, you know the one negative: It's very, very dangerous out there," said Trump.
"Yes it is, it's your Vietnam," added Stern.
"It's Vietnam," added Trump. "It is very dangerous. So I'm very, very careful." simply do not have the right to do this.
In brief, the military-style salute at the funeral of an expired veteran is generally reserved for those who served in the US military. A current president offering a military salute during a period of a former US President lying in state, is well outside the realm of proper etiquette I offer it serves as yet another exhibit of the ineptitude of all things Trump. Trump should not have issued the salute and he offered an improper salute relative to the placement of his thumb. where are his handlers?

I offer a differentiation between lying-in-state and the final funeral resting place.

Planning & Attending a Military Funeral - Etiquette & Expectations

A traditional funeral is similar to a military funeral in terms of the ... duty in one of the various branches of the United States Armed Forces. ... While there is no rule stating that a civilian should not salute, if done .... Whether it is a casket or an urn, this will serve as the final resting place for loved one's remains.
..while there is no rule..... Alas, but It seems so shallow, phony and disingenuous for a well-known draft dodger to offer the salute to over the body of one who served so gallantly in World War II.

Lest we forget another very visible episode of Trump ineptitude regarding matters of state formality. He stands in front of a North Korean General and goes here...

As a veteran of the Vietnam Era, I find Trump's antics, phoniness, and shallowness beyond reprehension.
