Anderson Cooper Ask Cortez If Trump Is A Racist

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AKA AOC) has been a sitting member of the US House of Representatives for less than one week. She has become a bit of a Nancy Pelosi Jr for rightwing demagoguery and it seems she will become a revenue cash cow for CNN (and in this case CBS's 60 Minutes). I personally would love to watch the young maverick ease more into the House seat and avoid what will certainly become a side-show carnival via Fox News, CNN and other networks for different reasons.

Before I elaborate on my point take a minute to each a portion of a 60 Minutes segment this past Sunday evening  As you watched the question from Anderson Cooper, ask yourself: What was the point or the value in asking the young Congresswoman such a question?

While I could be a bit off on my posit, I do not recall Cooper asking GOP members of Congress similar questions. He certainly has never posed such a  question to the GOP's top two well-documented racists: Steve King (R-IA) and Louis Gohmert (R-TX). for that matter, Cooper nor any of the CNN production managers have posed such a question to this CNN contributor.

racism

 noun
rac·ism | \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-  \

Definition of racism

1a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2aa doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles

ba political or social system founded on racism
3racial prejudice or discrimination

Here is another description of the various shades of intolerance. No photo description available. It really does seem that Trump is a racist.  The vast majority of racists do not meet on Friday night in hoods and robes for cross burnings. Racism is pervasive state of mind and it exists in many shades. One shade is the business of being a party to court settled illegal housing destination.  Another example is an inability to clearly state that growing white nationalism is abhorrent and outside the scope of American values. The salient point of this post: why was it important for Anderson Cooper to "side-eye" ask Cortez a question about her perception of Trump as a racist?
