Anderson Cooper Ask Cortez If Trump Is A Racist

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AKA AOC) has been a sitting member of the US House of Representatives for less than one week. She has become a bit of a Nancy Pelosi Jr for rightwing demagoguery and it seems she will become a revenue cash cow for CNN (and in this case CBS's 60 Minutes). I personally would love to watch the young maverick ease more into the House seat and avoid what will certainly become a side-show carnival via Fox News, CNN and other networks for different reasons.

Before I elaborate on my point take a minute to each a portion of a 60 Minutes segment this past Sunday evening  As you watched the question from Anderson Cooper, ask yourself: What was the point or the value in asking the young Congresswoman such a question?

While I could be a bit off on my posit, I do not recall Cooper asking GOP members of Congress similar questions. He certainly has never posed such a  question to the GOP's top two well-documented racists: Steve King (R-IA) and Louis Gohmert (R-TX). for that matter, Cooper nor any of the CNN production managers have posed such a question to this CNN contributor.

racism

 noun
rac·ism | \ˈrā-ˌsi-zəm also -ˌshi-  \

Definition of racism

1a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race
2aa doctrine or political program based on the assumption of racism and designed to execute its principles

ba political or social system founded on racism
3racial prejudice or discrimination

Here is another description of the various shades of intolerance. No photo description available. It really does seem that Trump is a racist.  The vast majority of racists do not meet on Friday night in hoods and robes for cross burnings. Racism is pervasive state of mind and it exists in many shades. One shade is the business of being a party to court settled illegal housing destination.  Another example is an inability to clearly state that growing white nationalism is abhorrent and outside the scope of American values. The salient point of this post: why was it important for Anderson Cooper to "side-eye" ask Cortez a question about her perception of Trump as a racist?  StumbleUpon

An Under Current Of Disaster Going Unchecked

Whether you believe the US is developing a dangerous sub-culture of white supremacy or you don't believe such, there is growing evidence, if you pay attention.

Recall Charlottesville Virginia: "Jews Will Not Replace Us!"

Another existential reality. Growth and proliferation of such groups have increased over time, with what seems an exponential burst of supremacist social regression as Trumpism has developed.

Have you noticed the presence of a popular Internet caricature, Pepe The Frog, turned a symbol of white supremacy?

Another symbolic manifestation of US White is a hand gesture which delivers a message to any "knowing" observer.

We have seen the signal flashed among a few too many White House staffers to refuse to accept its flashing is far more than a coincidence or a "cool" gesture. https://youtu.be/NhknGCROhFU

Speaking of the White House.

Alas, someone caught the gesture at this past weekend's Trump Mar-A-Lago festivities.

brat at Mar-A-Lago New Year's Eve gala.
The following video segments are critical to understanding the reality of growing US white supremacy. The NBC news guest, Christian Picciolini, is a former white supremacist who has taken to appearing on national TV shows (e.g. 60 Minutes) to disavow, repudiate and posit against and reject his 8 years as a supremacist.

The segments represent a short one-minute version of the 13 minute NBC appearance. The second video is the full segment. As you watch NBC's nascent host Megyn Kelly, conduct the interview, you will notice a clear effort to question the veracity of Fox News as a purveyor of racism. Lest we forget one video segment of Kelly clearly espousing racism and a degree of supremacy regarding an African-American writer's comments about Santa Clause being black.  Comments which fall the realm of Santa as a mythical character from the minds of people who rejoice and celebrate Christmas. Thus the black writer had every right to speak to kids in her community from a position of pure mystic and perception via young minds. Kelly White Santa, white Jesus.  After a few days of unannounced "vacation", Kelly reappeared with what Fox News management must have felt properly addressed Kelly's racist comments about Santa. As you view the embed you will notice a few items which fit Fox News's business model to the letter.  Kelly feigned "tongue in cheek" remarks. Kelly offered the totally implausible regarding joking with kids. She would joke about "white" Santa at 10:00PM EST to what audience of kids? Do parents actually allow their kids to sit and watch Fox News at 10:00PM.  One other matter, notice the "in-your-face" advertisement for the "powerful" Fox News.

Kelly's defensive remarks spoke volumes about the underlying broadcast ideology at Fox News.

Racism and white supremacy aren't always shrouded in a white robe and hood. We offered Fox News as the nation's top purveyor of cable news mind-shaping which often touches on conservatism which in turn exist with much more intolerance of things nonwhite than other political ideology. Megyn Kelly defense of her former employer still sits as a psychic brand she will not and cannot shed.

Let's now visit with Kelly and her guest.  We hope you watched the 13 minutes 60 Minutes segment liked above.

Long Version

If you continue to shield your psyche form growing US racism and white supremacy, you actually enable its growth. It is unfortunate but your affinity for and closely aligned with US conservatism means you should take extraordinary steps to rid the nation of a disease which history shows contribute to nation killing.

While it isn't fair to say: "All Republicans are racist."
It is fair to say:"Racist who are political align with the Republican Party."

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Donald Trump's Met Putin? The Daily Show Encore

Why does Donald Trump have such total disregard for humankind?  How can anyone stand before cameras and ,or, audiences and outright lie without any regard for archived records and videotape.  During Tuesday night debate, Trump went braggadocious about having met with Russia's Putin. He implied he and Putin had consorted in a green room setting while a guest on 60 Minutes.

MSNBC's Chris Hayes
Trump's new positive adjective for a debate that was clearly focused on advancing certain GO candidate's agenda and campaigns.

"Elegant"

How out an excerpt from The Daily Show:  "Wrong but Adorable"

Excerpt
Correspondent Desi Lydic called out Ben Carsonon the minimum wage and found it a little sad thatDonald Trump thinks he knows Vladimir Putinwell because they both appeared on 60 Minutes. She rated that “wrong but adorable.”
She brought up Carly Fiorina contradicting herself on meeting Putin in a green room, which was “such a weird thing to lie about” that Lydic gave her a “Rachel Dolezal.”
Lydic ended by circling back to Carson again for neglecting to point out that part of the reason the U.S. was the #1 economic power 100 years after 1776 was slavery.

60 Minutes Gives McConnell And Boehner a "Soft" Stage (Didn't Work Too Well)

The charade goes prime time.

60 Minutes offered GOP Congressional leadership and opportunity to "shine" in the glory of last November's election wins.  They not only did not shine, they sat and spewed talking points ("patient centered medical care"; "ObamaCare costing jobs.") like Polly wanting a cracker while failing to thoroughly answer  question.

Watch as the two answer a direct questions from Scott Pelley related to GOP designs on repealing ObamaCare.

How about an alternative to ObamaCare since 20 plus million have received some form of benefit one way or another?

Whats your alternative? (Now Scott why did you ask that questions?)

The bottomline is...The Kochs are not supporters of the ACA, BIG Insurance and Big Pharma are not supporters and the GOP does not give damn about the millions who derive benefit from the law. Thus, the dark money is on the side of no ACA and that is an impetus to waste millions upon millions fighting a law that is working its way into all fabrics of our nation. Yet, the GOP Paleozoic dinosaurs continue to fight the inevitable.

The culmination of an interview from hell. "We have done everything we can to help this nation!" Really? How about wasting $86 million on repelling Oabamcare. How about a federal government shutdown that handed the national a $28 billion hit to GDP? How about a lowered credit rating via Stand & Poor's with Boehner stating on camera, he got 90% of what he wanted. How about not allowing a jobs bill vote over the full course of the Obama presidency? How about refusal to consider increasing the aluminum wage to benefit minority employees, women employees and older Americans who work to supplement federal aid programs?

Seriously how about this....The Daily Kos November 25, 2013.

The Caucus Room Plot
Newt Gingrich, "You will remember this day...you will remember this day the seeds of 2012 were sown."
......on inauguration night, 2009, during a four hour, "invitation only" meeting with GOP Hate-Propaganda Minister, Frank Luntz, the below listed Senior GOP Law Writers literally plotted to sabotage, undermine and destroy America's Economy.

FACT 2:Draper wrote the guest list included:
The Guest List:
Frank Luntz - GOP Minister of Propaganda
Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)
Rep. Eric Cantor (R-VA)
Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA),
Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX),
Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX),
Rep. Pete Hoekstra (R-MI)

Rep. Dan Lungren (R-CA),
Sen. Jim DeMint (SC-R),
Sen. Jon Kyl (AZ-R),
Sen. Tom Coburn (OK-R),
Sen. John Ensign (NV-R) and
Sen. Bob Corker (TN-R).
Non-lawmakers present Newt Gingrich - Failed GOP candidate for President

CBA provided a 13:37 segment of teh broadcast. You may find it interesting. I personal found it a sham and Pelley was nothing shy of "soft" on the Republican congressional leaders.

All said, progressive American and the Democrats are singularly responsible for the 114th Congress. Milennials are reported to have voted at the meager leve of 13%, African-Americans stayed home and Latinos literally boycotted the vote. Democrats who convinced Obama to avoid addressing immigration until after the election doomed the nation to a 114th Congress bursting at the seams with elected official who are beholden to constituents with deep pockets, not the voters.

"Where Have We Gone Wrong" Stan Brock Remote Area Medical (RAM)

Perspectives on Healthcare, the lack there of, and far Right resistance to help for those with pain and suffering!

Dr. Joseph Smiddy
RAM

CBS 60 Minutes July 2008.

The Remote Area Medical (RAM) volunteer corps (clinics) and its pilot' founder and principle driver, came into the light. Prior to the 60 Minutes broadcast my knowledge of the RAM was at the level of NIL. Of course, it should go without saying, but I will make the point the 2008 was well within my regular viewing of 60 Minutes. After the hire of David Rhodes, from Fox News, in 2011, 60 Minutes has become an entertainment relic of its past investigative greatness.  We will leave the hire of Rhodes for another screed.

60 Minutes July 2008
The 60 Minutes segment was an eye opener. A bit of irony for me; the RAM founder, Stan Brock, worked as an assistant to Marlin Perkins on Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom. Brock's RAM originally provided medical services across the globe in remote areas across the globe. Brock and his volunteers now focus their relief work in remote and under-privileged (via lack of medial services) in the United States.

RAM services have expanded beyond remote areas to areas with high concentration of the uninsured and chronic poor (e.g., Los Angeles Neighborhoods, Las Vegas and East St. Louis, Illinois). RAM in the media: Linked.

INGLEWOOD, Calif. — They came for new teeth mostly, but also for blood pressure checks, mammograms, immunizations and acupuncture for pain. Neighboring South Los Angeles is a place where health care is scarce, and so when it was offered nearby, word got around.
Excerpt
When Remote Area Medical, the Tennessee-based organization running the event, decided to try its hand at large urban medical services, its principals thought Los Angeles would be a good place to start. But they were far from prepared for the outpouring of need. Set up for eight days of care, the group was already overwhelmed on the first day after allowing 1,500 people through the door, nearly 500 of whom had still not been served by day’s end and had to return in the wee hours Wednesday morning.

The enormous response to the free care was a stark corollary to the hundreds of Americans who have filled town-hall-style meetings throughout the country, angrily expressing their fear of the Obama administration’s proposed changes to the nation’s health care system.

US Media: Broadcasters For The Right and Serves As Mind-shapers

10-11-Clear-Channel

If you are a progressive, liberal, or open-minded Independent, you may have noticed television media (news Media) is joining AM Radio as the domain of American Conservatism.

From Fox News through ABC News the year has been bursting at the seems with broadcast that were not only in error, the broadcast appeared have been developed to beat other networks to the airways.  When television media reaches for races to broadcast they do not fulfill a basic journalism standard: Verify story and double check sources. Of course, we exclude Fox News from the latter as that network is an obvious outlet for Right-wing propaganda and servers well as a communication division form the GOP.  We do not expect stories  with any intent other than erosion  of the Obama Administration policy, and practice.   We have to only consider the 60 Minutes debacle, the ABC Benghazi email screw-up, and

While not an established corporate media outlets, checkout this headline....

CBS News May Drop Benghazi Bomb On Obama - Free Republic

www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3082803/posts

Other than Fox News, corporate media other than would never publish nor broadcast with a headline like the headline above. Of course, the 60 Minutes Benghazi report was of "Dropping the Bomb."

The Global Movement Dot Info, published a detail piece related to the extent of consolidation of US media since 1999.

Am ugly picture!  We understand cronyism and uber wealth plutocrats. It is impossible to imagine the Kochs and ultra conservative like the Kochs do not have cronies at the highest level of the Boards of the six media conglomerates.

It shouldn't take much convincing for anyone to realize any industry with few corporate families have opportunity to shape US policy as much as any elected administration. Since, corporations have fiduciary responsibility to earn revenues and subsequent profits, along with CEO commitment to fulfill HIS multi-million dollar contracts, can we convince you can six corporate leaders and their Boards of Directors can act as mind-shapers.

If you are not yet convinced, keep in mind Both Gallup and Pew Research have reported survey results indicating we get our news from television. Did you notice that Fox News ranked highest in viewership according to the Gallup poll? We suggest that is a perilous thought. Fox doesn't broadcast news! The network broadcasts right-wing propaganda and is some cases (O'Reilly Hannity and Meghan Kelly) stories are fabricated or developed without total commitment to ethics.

If we consider the number of apologies, retractions, and Fox News fake story "busts" since the Democrats won the White House in 2008, our posit isn't a stretch. Actually, our posit is existential. The reasonable person would have thought the  Bush Years was a primer for a strong Left media lean.  Media never collectively leans Left.

The FaceBook Page FORWARD published a detailed review of what they called "Media Fail."

MEDIA FAIL

How Disinformation Has Become The Norm

The vast majority of the American media is owned & controlled by corporations.

Corporations now more than ever are using the media to shape public opinion.

In this age of reality TV & shock entertainment Americans have become desensitized.

Thus the same Republican Party that ruined the economy…

Murdered nearly a million people with their lies…

And literally robbed the tax payers blind.

Have been allowed to openly sabotage & smear the President for five years. Without being called out on their rank hypocrisy.

Republican’s brazenness comes from their faith. Yes faith in the enormous propaganda machine they have created.

60 Minutes And a Foray Into The Fox News Model

CBS News journalistic review is complete and the one network that reports on Obama Derangement Syndrome (ODS) continues to report on 60 Minutes and its failed reporting.

Chris Hayes, MSNBC, ALL IN, took a turn at reporting on today's report.  Eric Boehlert, Media Matters, joined Chris Hayes, and literally exposed 60 Minutes as having accomplished a major journalistic.

Boehlert stated Media Matters will continue to watch 60 Minutes and CBS management for evidence of "lesson learned."

Rest assured we will also watch for stories related to 60 Minutes going forward.  Why is that important you ask? It is important because in 2011, someone in CBS executive management made a decision to hire a Fox News executive : David Rhodes.  Rhodes started his new career at Fox New sin 1996.  There is no way the Rhodes hire was for reasons other than transforming CBS News to a model that resulted, two years later, in the Benghazi story.  Does it take a leap of imagination to come to the conclusion Rhodes was instrumental in hiring Lara Logan and her producer?  It is important because for whatever reason former reputable media executives are pandering around with people who have developed a style of reporting that is not true journalism.

Jeff Fager and his Board of Directors did not seek to hire an executive from NBC nor MSNBC.  Heck, they did not even reach to hire a News Division executive from the former "neutral" (their slogan) CNN.  The decision to hire Rhodes was as strategic and purposeful as decisions made by Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Rice and Powell to invade Iraq. We cannot say the eventual newsroom failure was equivalent to a war in Iraq. However, we can assert the decision to hire from Fox News was as flawed as faking WMD to go to war.

As you watch the embed segment, consider the following. MSNBC, Hayes, and his guest are consummate professionals.  While, virtually impossible to prove, we are experiencing real world dissonance as we try to imagine the Benghazi Report was not intentionally developed and broadcast.  Let's Face it Rhodes under Roger Ailes has a wealth of experience in crafting similar reports on Fox News.

Now that you gave Hayes and Boehlert a few minutes, think about another item.

We have people on the Right, Fox News, and just about every right-wing pundit clamoring for disciplinary action against Martin Bashir for his graphic reference to Sarah Palin. Yet, not one 'mouth-on-the-right" has spent a utterance on the "fake" 60 Minutes Benghazi Report.

What does that tell you about Right-wing America?

How many times have we asked the question, "What happens when people follow a path well traveled by conservative America?"  Failure is at the end of the path.
