Trump: Cubs, "Surprise Lies", Comey Tapes, Twitter Sleaze

Trump and his Chicago Cubs!

Now, why did the Cubs have a second opportunity to meet with a US President in the White House? We realize the Cubs owner is a money man for Trump's campaign but could there be another reason? Could the Cubs owner place a premium on having his team meet with a white US President?

OK, so here we go again with over-the-top blustering Bull crap from the world's most prolific carnival barker and con man. We have been down his path before and we went down the path very recently.  Remember the Comey tapes?

When asked about the alleged Comey tapes during his Rose Garden appearance with the Romanian President Trump let loose another case of cognitive flatulence which smelled like a lie.

"I’ll tell you about that, maybe, sometime in the very near future."
"“You are going to be very disappointed when you hear the answer.”

Well, rational Americans, and even a growing number of Trump supporters, were not surprised. We might have actually been surprised if he delivered actual tapes.

If you need perspective and a reminder of Trumps serial lying, view this short segment from CNN's Anderson Cooper.

While seemingly off topic, we cannot resist visiting with this morning's example of the child with his IPhone.

After viewing the Morning Joe Show and consistent criticism of the child president, Trump burst with a couple of tweets which are well beyond sad and pathetic.

CNN's Brian Steltar published a piece with video of John Berman and Poppy Harlow's CNN segment. link.  If you are a Trump supporter and find the guttural attack even close to palatable, well, you are a "deplorable."

If you are one who disfavors clicking links, here is the CNN embed.

It is impossible to ignore the serious cognitive deficiencies of Donald Trump, regardless of your political ilk, regardless of your favor or disfavor of Trump or regardless of your real or self perceived status as a "deplorable" or non-deplorable.

As Barack Obama told us. " He is unfit to be president."

Conservative Talking Heads, TV Cameras And The Big Lie

We have long held a position conservative TV "presstitutes" and the lesser cable talking heads deploy a form of over talking, interruptive and never yield the microphone as a derivative of the debate Gish Gallop technique. They use a form of the technique Mitt Romney used to successfully administered a debate defeat on President Obama during the first 2012 Presidential debate.

Image result for gish gallopOnce the camera rolls and the show host initiates dialog the technique commences.

Questioned more than 10 answer.

December 2016 Unvetted Refugees

Yet, there is non-better than Trump's cadre of Attorneys who ae paid well to appear on camera with lies to cover Trumps lies and missteps.

The dynamics are real TV hosts have prescribed to the minutes scripted segments. They also have 'hard' satellite; breaks for advertisements. With each dynamic, the talking head (presstitute) has the opportunity to talk through the segment as a strategy. Watch as conservative CNN contributor, Matt Lewis, attempts to slow the Gish Gallop.

The technique works if the show host allows the "galloper" to run roughshod over a segment.

Trump's newly hired attorney without benefitted from the gallop session in which Matt Lewis challenged him to shut-up. As I watched the segment I felt the attorney was auditioning for a contract with Trump and company. He has to become the latest mindshare on the team.

Yesterday, Jay Sekulow, visited four news Sunday shows. While he received mixed interaction from the various hosts, Fox News's Chris Wallace performed a real credible interview replete with pinning down the shifty attorney.

With this guy, it is easy to find reinforcement of why many attorneys are not held in high esteem. He is obviously lying about Trump's status with the Special Counsel.

Trump's Number Two Talking Head Vs. Anderson Cooper (And A Glance At Trumpism On The Beach)

No automatic alt text available.

When the Trump inner cabal sends its number two "presstitute" out to speak with media after an unfathomable event, the interaction is noteworthy.

Anderson Cooper suffered the displeasure of exposure to a professional liar who exhibits the optics of a deep sea Anglerfish (not only physical appearance).

Huffington Post posted the full 13-minute interview with a series of noteworthy Cooper non-verbal reactions.

Additional GIFs are viewable here. In order to fully appreciate the HUFFPO piece you really should visit the link to know Cooper's question and hear Conway's in some cases written responses.

Brief Digression and a look at Trumpism.

During the 2016 campaign, Hillary Clinton used the word "deplorable (s); do characterize a sizable portion of Trump's supporters. While PC America shuddered at the thought, recognize her metaphor was point-on. Herewith is an example of such.

CNN Trumping It Up!

"The big fight"
"The Big Game!"
"The gloves are off!"
"The Man-Event"

Reading the exhalations above, one would think we are approaching Super 50 or a bit prize fight. We are approaching a CNN sponsored an airing of the next GOP presidential debate and CNN writers are over doing the hyperbole.

CNN is devoting the full scope of today's programming to the GOP Debate. Maybe such pre-debate programming is to be expected as we consider the current state of US media.: Post-1996 Fox News media. Let's face it, all media today is about ratings that coincide with revenue. News worthiness long ago melted into the world of reality TV along with multi-millionaire entertainer hosts sitting in on each show.

With the 2012 hiring of Fred Zucker, CNN became a Fox News media wanna be with a bib. Yet CNN has not taken the jump to entertainer news alone. MSNBC has joined the quest for attention and with its progress on "de-lefting" its programming could very well relegate CNN to a permanent third place among the "cable three."  Zucker will not go to the bottom tier of the 'cable three' without a fight. CNN's hyperbole laden programming is an indication of the extent to which ratings drive US news. Fox News is reported to have drawn 24 million viewers to its "sillifest" last month.  Can you imagine the debate audience, CNN is drumming-up today?

We should have deep concern about the carnival(izing) the debate. WWE like promotion of the debate supports the current manifestation of the GOP's race to the top as a reality TV event.  With WWE style entertainment, the networks literally turn the GOP race over to the narcissistic and ego-maniacal Donald Trump. A person who draws sycophant viewers and bottom dwellers "for momentary ratification."  We at the TPI refer to the Trumpites as the "giggle constituency'; low information voters who seek the giggle while feeling comfortable in their respective states of  subservient pawn-ship.

As we move towards the CNN "fight tonight",it was refreshing last night to see and hear Anderson Cooper cut away from the highly touted Trump event (that turned into a non-event). (See Mediaite below). The Trump team apparently convinced media the carnival barker would climb up to a naval vessel and speak about international affairs. Well, Trump approached the event from the same non-scripted perspective that has given us repetitive rhetoric about "China", Mexico", "Bush", various disparaging remarks about women, US leaders" and accompanying garbage talk. The New York City (talking-head) mogul has even moved to incorporating the common urban vernacular of "whateverin his remarks.

Within the week AoL and other media have reported growing mal-content among CNN staffers regarding incessant coverage of Trump: CNN Is Really Tired Of CNN's Trump Coverage.
Kudos to Anderson Cooper!

Anderson Cooper Cuts Away from Big Trump Speech After Hearing No Actual Specifics

cooper trump
CNN tonight cut away from Donald Trump‘s big foreign policy speech tonight, and not because there was breaking news or anything. Anderson Cooper explained it was because he wasn’t giving any specifics.

Trump was speaking in broad terms about doing good things for the military and veterans. Now, normally whenever Trump’s speaking on TV, cable news can’t resist it. But it appears this speech may have been a final straw of sorts, as Cooper just cut into the speech and very blatantly said they were told there will be specifics.

He informed viewers if Trump started giving specifics, they would cut back to his remarks. They did not.

And it didn’t even end there. At various different points throughout the evening, Cooper made a point of highlighting how Trump gave no specifics, which apparently people were led to believe would be in this particular speech.

Women Issues Are KiIlling the GOP

Trump as Opportunist Liar

After making shameful remarks about Republican candidate Carly Fiorina's looks, Trump, as usual came back with an insulting lie. Insulting that he would actually feel the collective intellect of the nation is similar to those who support his every move and utterance his celebrity worshiping sycophants.

A response when questioned about the personal attack on Fiorina:
“The writer actually called me and said, ‘I’m so upset, I wrote this great story and Jann Wenner screwed it up,'" the mogul stated.
The problem with such a deep lie, the perpetrator fails to properly assess the reality of a cable news host asking the writer if the statement is true (See Anderson Cooper 360 below)

Let's first visit with a quick video of Anderson Cooper with CNN's Brian Steltar.

CNN Brian Steltar with Anderson Cooper; 1:25 minutes on the Trump's horrific (latest) attack on a woman.

CNN's Chris Cuomo attempts to speak rationally with an irritations Trump (who was covering a lie).

The real sadness associated with Trump is the extent to which Americans are buying into the bull. I have recently read comments from people who I know are progressive both socially and politically, who ahve comment about an affinity (albeit it momentarily fleeting) form Trump's bull-crap rhetoric.

Trump is only the tip of the Iceberg.....We offer a quick visit with another GOP candidate who seems to be wearing a cloak of the charlatan.

Huckabee as charlatan opportunist

There is something seriously wrong in the GOP and Reince Priebus's mission seems to have failed. These are not "fine candidates" as he recently stated on national TV.

CNN: Keeping Them Honest?....""He who is without sin can cast the first stone?"

As you watch Anderson Copper's segment of "Keeping Them Honest", think...the man would be President of the United States.

Why do Right-wing politicians only consider Fox News and publications like the Drudge Report as viable news sources?
As in the past, there are times when CNN criticizes Fox News and fails to look in its "closet." Apparently, CNN has also broadcast "No-Go" Zone reports.

And CNN via Anderson Cooper "Clarifies.'  I find CNNs headline a mockery of reality. "Clarify?  A more aporpos title would have read with an admission of finger pointing without self-vetting.

Anderson Cooper clarifies coverage of 'no-go zones'

There-in lies the reason I assert cable news has moved well away from journalism.  We find much more pure entertainment and the entertainment is often superfluous to put it simply.

Last night MSNBC's Chris Hayes opened ALL IN with a segment on deflated footballs. A newsworthy item as we approach the Super Bowl, but top story on an international news show?

As to CNN and "Keeping Them Honest?"

"He who is without sin can cast the first stone?"

GOP: Anti-LGBT, Anti-Woman, Anti-Muslim, Anti-Minority......And Then They Came For Me!

As we end the week let's not overlook conservative aversion to and bigotry against the nation's LGBT community. A week that experienced a GOP congressional leader lose his seat in the House of Representatives. GOP politics leaves yet another mark on US History, as never before has a Congressional Chamber Majority Leader lost their leadership roles via loss of a district primary.

US conservatives, their political party and right-wing media tug at the fabric of a world of supposed freedom. We know conservative America regarding social matters (GOP party make-up relative to race and ethnicity). It isn't possible to avoid awareness of the GOP's "War on Women." You would have to be locked in a room with no electrical outlets to avoid knowledge of GOP's aversion to brown-skinned people Latinos who may attempt to enter the US via our southern borders (AKA "Immigration"). As evidenced via our news media (certain media...MSNBC), GOP voter suppression stands as a beacon regarding the party's concerns for African-Americans. Did I mention GOP concern for African-Americans?  Before you grow irritated and click off the site, check this out..... Mitt Romney GOP Outreach.

If you missed the point of the Mitt Romney link, you really should consider clicking-off the site. What follows may not be of interest to you. You may not have interest in, nor concern about, the GOP "War on the LGBT."

He joked about his frequent habit of luring California companies to Texas and called the competition between the two states healthy for both, as well as the nation.                                                                                                                              (Video bleow via Youtube)

Oklahoma candidate OK with stoning gay people?
Talking Points Memo                                                                                      Gkzkcaawsyr9z6wwb5gc                                                                                    CATHERINE THOMPSON –
A Republican candidate for the Oklahoma state House who boasts that he's looking forward to "applying Biblical principles to Oklahoma law" is okay with gay people being stoned to death -- even if he won't legislate the practice himself.                                                                                                                    , a local news website, surfaced a series of Scott Esk's Facebook posts in a story published Tuesday. The posts, dated July 2013, cited scripture in response to an article on Pope Francis telling reporters "Who am I to judge gay people?"                                                                                                                "Men were commanded to put guilty parties to death who were guilty of certain acts, like homosexuality," Esk wrote, according to screenshots archived by the news site.                                                                                                                                                “So just to be clear, you think we should execute homosexuals (presumably by stoning)?” another commenter asked.                                                                                                                             "I think we would be totally in the right to do it," Esk replied. "That goes against some parts of libertarianism, I realize, and I’m largely libertarian, but ignoring as a nation things that are worthy of death is very remiss.”                                                                                                                                                                                      Asked whether he really believed homosexuality ought to be punishable by stoning, Esk told that he had "huge moral misgivings" about the behavior but had "no plans to re-institute [stoning] in Oklahoma law."

Anderson Cooper, CNN, apparently had enough and went about taking to task Texas State legislator, Rep. Bryan Hughes (R). And, Cooper his mission accomplished with precision uncommon in CNN hosts and un-observable in Fox News hosts.

Crooks & Liars.. McCain and his political ilk.....

John McCain: Chameleon and Disengenius

As expected the political Right is "up in arms" (excuse the pun) about last Fridays Gitmo and Sgt. Bergdahl prisoner swap.

The Chorus is as steady and loud as a Baptist serve on a "First Sunday."  Of course, there is no one louder and more "put-off" than John (I want more wars) McCain.

Remember when McCain was exchanged for other Communist North Vietnamese POWS in 1973 by then President Nixon? Don't you hate when Republicans negotiated with terrorists to free an American Serviceman?
The Senator from Arizona appeared on his ("oh so") relished Sunday morning (conservative news) Shows with an appearance on CBS.  Face the Nation host Bob Schieffer turned the platform over to McCain for a full 3:40 minute diatribe.

The Project Vote Smart  has linked back to a February 18, 2014 McCain/Anderson Cooper, 360 Degrees, interview. The link takes one directly to a transcript of the inimitable McCain commenting about prisoner swaps (in Syria) with a focus on his 2012 agreement with swapping prisoners.

COOPER: Would you oppose the idea of some form of negotiations or prisoner exchange? I know back in 2012 you called the idea of even negotiating with the Taliban bizarre, highly questionable.
SEN. JOHN MCCAIN (R), ARIZONA: Well, at that time the proposal was that they would release -- Taliban, some of them really hard-core, particularly five really hard-core Taliban leaders, as a confidence- building measure. Now this idea is for an exchange of prisoners for our American fighting man.
I would be inclined to support such a thing depending on a lot of the details.
COOPER: Of anybody on Capitol Hill, you know better than anybody what this young man must be going through. Obviously it's a very different time. How do you get through something like this? I mean, for somebody in this situation?
MCCAIN: Well, I was fortunate in where he is not that I had fellow POWs that even though I was a long time in solitary confinement we would tap on the wall to each other and stay in communication. If it wasn't for that, it would have been a very different story for most of us. And this is why I feel especially sympathetic for Mr. Bergdahl because he is all there by himself.
COOPER: So if there was some -- the possibility of some sort of exchange, that's something you would support?
MCCAIN: I would support. Obviously I'd have to know the details, but I would support ways of bringing him home and if exchange was one of them I think that would be something I think we should seriously consider.
McCain's chameleon(ism) is no surprise. So these people have no respect for modern technology that include electronic archives? How can we experience any level of concern for issues from McCain after even brief consideration of his thought processes and his decision-making?  I offer this......

Palin would have served one accident or illness from the Presidency!

Just a bit more on McCain as decision-maker and leader.  A man who would have sat in the White House a few feet away from Sarah Palin!

Mother Jones image. Article linked here.

And, frankly, McCain is simply a loud anti-Obama symptom of a bigger GOP problem. The GOP loves war, but cares far less about issues after the firing stops.

While a digression, I cannot close without a tribute to the 2012 Mitt Romney Campaign.

Four Jurors Disavow The Words Of Juror B37, Angela Corey, and Tim Wise

Juror B37: There was one holdout

Four of the six jurors in the George Zimmerman trial issued a statement saying that Juror B37's interview with CNN does not reflect their opinions. FULL STORY
 For Immediate Release
July 16, 2013

We, the undersigned jurors, understand there is a great deal of interest in this case. But we ask you to remember that we are not public officials and we did not invite this type of attention into our lives. We also wish to point out that the opinions of Juror B-37, expressed on the Anderson Cooper show were her own, and not in any way representative of the jurors listed below.
Serving on this jury has been a highly emotional and physically draining experience for each of us. The death of a teenager weighed heavily on our hearts but in the end we did what the law required us to do.
We appeal to the highest standards of your profession and ask the media to respect our privacy and give us time to process what we have been through.
Thank you,
Juror B-51
Juror B-76
Juror E-6
Juror E-40

Juror B37 stands out as the embodiment of all that was wrong in the Zimmerman murder trial.

Watch this video

Do you want to read about a robot who made it on the Zimmerman Jury? Programmed by the defense and averse to anyone but "GEORGE."

"I believe he played a huge role in his death," she said about the teenager. "He could have ... When George confronted him, and he could have walked away and gone home. He didn't have to do whatever he did and come back and be in a fight," she said.

Zimmerman did not target Martin, who was African-American, because of the color of his skin, she said. The juror believes he profiled him because of the suspicious way he acted. "I don't think race had anything to do with this trial. I mean just because he was black and George was Spanish or Puerto Rican, I don't think it had anything to do with this trial. But I think people are looking for things to make race play a part," the juror said.

And, this woman cast character aspersion against Rachel Jeantel? Yet, she shows a serious lack of understanding sociology and ethnicity in its most basic form..  "...George was Spanish or Puerto Rican...."  People who live in glass house should not throw stones.  B37 exercised a paradigm of 'white privilege' common to millions who have spent their lives avoiding interaction with people of color.  Watch as "white privilege' exercised from Juror B37 a person who did not want to be part of the cast of Zimmerman's killing.  Also watch as Ms. Jeantel , as calmly as possible, avoids calling B37 a "Bitch."  B37 "feels sad for her."

Cooper with Anegla Corey, prosecution team Chief Prosecutor.  Corey is at the very root of the "Not Guilty" Verdict and she shares that distinction with Florida Law.

Anderson Cooper will milk rating on "verdict" as long as he has attorneys willing to join him on panels.   He will air B37 as often as possible to ensure crushing MSNBC and Fox News during his show time period.

There is agreement the prosecution team was inept beyond belief. In an earlier segment, Cooper interviewed Angela Cory, Prosecution team Chief Prosecutor.

Respected race relations consultant Tim Wise joined Don Lemon: Role of Race in the Zimmerman Trial.
