Trump Surrogacy When Not Allowed To Speak Or Incompetent?

...Or both....

A Senior press person who obviously has her job for reason other than competency. Remember, these people go the the Withe House with a Trump win this fall.

Twitter Ruthlessly Mocks Trump Spokeswoman: 'It's Like A SNL Skit!'

CNN viewers slammed Donald Trump's senior press representative, Healy Baumgardner, on Wednesday for a robotic interview that was instantly compared to a skit on Saturday Night Live. During a segment about Trump's pledge to speak with North Korea leader Kim Jong Un, CNN host Carol Costello asked Baumgardner what the candidate meant when he praised the…

Immigration Ugliness!

A Papal View

"This humanitarian emergency requires, as a first urgent measure, these children be welcomed and protected. These measures, however, will not be sufficient, unless they are accompanied by policies that inform people about the dangers of such a journey and, above all, that promote development in their countries of origin." Pope Francis. Pope Francis: Immigrant Children Must Be 'Welcomed And Protected'

While Pope Francis delivered his message, Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin spoke at Mexico's Foreign Relations Secretariat and urged clergy and foreign ministers to protect young migrants.
"Whether they travel for reasons of poverty, violence or the hope of uniting with families on the other side of the border," Parolin said, "it is urgent to protect and assist them, because their frailty is greater and they're defenseless, they're at the mercy of any abuse or misfortune."

And, a CNN segment that lays the ugliness out for all to see.

CNN host Carol Costello tackled once shameful exhibition of Americanism gone mad. The nine plus minute segment includes not only background on the Pinal County Arizona citizens protest, Costello secured an interview with the local sheriff. Sheriff Paul Babeu, was reported to have informed activist groups of the pending bus journey to a relief center.

These people are naive, this is America

We as a nation can rest assured people who are seeking to escape the horrors of their homelands, will not be welcomed in most US communities.

Wonder why we did not see the same level of disgust, chants of "USA, USA, USA" and ugly protest as the US migrated thousands for Eastern European wars and associated genocide?

Koch Brothers Shill Joins CNN for Talking Points Opportunity; Not Quite Like Fox News

Earlier today, CNN's Carol Costello discussed the new CBO report on raising the Minimum Wage with Heritage Institute's Stephen Moore.
www.rollcall.com
Whenever I see Stephen Moore on a news room marquis, I know what's to come.  He will spew a Cato Institute brand of Libertarian rhetoric behind his cloak of an economist. Of course, he is an economist. He is also going to view all data and economic analyses with a deep slant towards Koch brothers ideology (via the Cato Institute) and he will speak as do most libertarians.

In the late 1970s, the Kochs help found the Cato Institute, as their Father help found the John Birch Society. The two groups are diametrically divergent in mission and goals, but there is a common thread Conservatism. Conservatism with inherent dogma to achieve mission and goals. Despite the Institutes fight for some degree of independence regarding research projects and other critical organization focus, when a founder and major money-broker supporter wants, they have major influence.

It seems last month Moore joined the Heritage Foundation. Without any source data or reason or speculation I do wonder if Moore finds the atmosphere, corporate mission and personal opportunity at Heritage more to his ilk.  I think I am safe in that posit.

A peep at the Kochs and Stephen Moore's recent employment history.

WIKI

Political activities

Members of the Koch family have given to conservative and libertarian policy and advocacy groups in the United States,[17] including think tanks like the Heritage Foundation and the Cato Institute, and more recently Americans for Prosperity.[18] Americans for Prosperity and Freedom Works are organizations with links to both the Kochs and the Tea Party movement.[19][20][21][22]

According to the Koch Family Foundations and Philanthropy website, "the foundations and the individual giving of Koch family members" have financially supported organizations "fostering entrepreneurship, education, human services, at-risk youth, arts and culture, and medical research." [23]
Thus, surmising about Stephen Moore's punditry is as simple as taking a breathe of air.

Moore joined Carol Costello this morning for a segment on CNN's News Room. Even though I am well versed in Moore's punditry and the fact his political analysis will follow libertarian ideology and rhetoric, his use of the news platform to satisfy another Koch mission kind of floored me. He out-of-the-blue interjected "ObamaCare" as an issue in potential catalyst fore job losses. He "went there" in discussion of a Congressional Budget Office report that includes the prospect of job losses from an increase in the minimum wage. The report included far more positive data about quality of life for affected employees and far more about good and positive for the economy, but of course, those are not points Moore and his backers care to exploit. It should be noted, you will see Moore also attempt to reach back two weeks to another CBO report. The referenced report led to the need for a concise and corrective comment from the CBO Director, Elmendorf, related to Obamacare's impact on people forced to work multiple low paying jobs or people who work jobs simply for sake of medical coverage.

Fortunately, Moore was speaking with Carol Costello instead of Erin Burnett.

On the February 19 edition of CNN Newsroom, host Costello was joined by Wall Street Journal editorial board member and Heritage Foundation chief economist Stephen Moore to discuss the CBO report. Moore, a prominent right-wing media figure, rehearsed standard talking points about the alleged disastrous impacts of increasing the minimum wage for low-skilled and entry-level workers.

Despite Moore's efforts, Costello checked his spin at every turn, continually pointing to the positive impacts of increasing the minimum wage.

As we are exposed to people like Moore, is there any wonder 47% of voters in 2012 voted for Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan?

Leave with this point. While much of what Moore had to say should be filed away as Heritage talk, he used the two week old CBO report in an effort to mislead the viewing public. Moore is well read and intelligent enough to know full-well Elmendorf's previous comment relegated Fox New and conservative  talking-points about about work hour losses due to Obamacare into a mirage.

Veracity is not the issue with people like Moore. The victory is saying the words on television news to facilitate propaganda to low information people who believe without further inquiry.

Quick Hit: The Afterwash Of The CBO Report

 DEBUNKED
We started the week with a major tsunami for television and print media. The Congressional Budget Office had "let the cat out the bag" on ObamaCare (PPACA- AKA ACA) and the ..."hope"... scratch that, with the report of labor force hours reduction to the tune of 2.3 million jobs.  For those who like quick hits, the story was debunked by Doug Elmendorf, director of the CBO, and laid squarely in the realm of family needs for medical coverage and the availability of the ACA will reduce the need for some parents (or heads of household) to work multiple jobs (for medical coverage).  Media with one exception (actually in reality two or three exceptions) jumped all over the story and in some cases with absolute glee.

Others like CNN's Carol Costello worked to set the record straight.  I have been very critical of Costello during a couple of past  interviews with the likes of Wayne Newton, but for a non-MSNBC personality, she availed herself very well. Linked

Since we mentioned MSNBC, let's roll with a segment from Chris Hayes's All In.

Now, you have to know we at the TPI as consistent. we will remain diligent in pointing-out the differences between competent news reporting (along with related story development) and that of Fox News.

Watch and listen to Stuart Varney, Fox News Live, and his guest.  It is important to remember, Varney was railing to his viewers about the time Doug Elmendorf was responding to Congressional hearing questions and comment about the CBO report.

It is sad when facts to not work to alleviat rherotirc. It is even more sad when media rushs to press, posting an dbroadcas without verificaiton of data and associated intent.  Are we so competittive we foresake accuracy and veraicty to beat the competition. Here is nothing better than being 'dead-on" correct while others mire themselves in raitings quicksand.

We ask media if they are aware that, follwoig the path they are choosing means they will eventually drown in the quicksand with Fox News just below them?

CNN Tries To Get A Response From Marsha Blackburn

CNN would do better to attempt to take prey from a ravished Lion!

In late October CNN booked the GOP's number one mouth-piece, (Marsha Blackburn  (TN),  to discuss the ACA.  If you are familiar with "Machine-Gun-Mouth" Blackburn, you know any interview will include few ( If any) answered questions, but much "Playbook" talking points. For point of reference and to illustrate GOP "Lock-step" talking points regarding the ACA this how they go about it: "GOP House Playbook."

The Playbook facilitates messaging to people who are inclined to believe their messaging.

The October interview was up to par basically, "....let's just stick to our "playbook". No one has done anything to shake our strategy." The intriguing point about the following interaction, it was so obviously intentional. I actually believe McConnell was referencing a two hour meeting with other republicans vs a group of Democrats.

Paul , McConnell and messaging

We offer a couple of additional examples of lock-step and the mindset that embraces people as no thinking, but well coordinated recipients of orders.  When I think of such tactics, I think of this, and this.  People do not lock-step unless drilled to do so.

Blackburn 'lock-steps' Like no other!

Asked to explain how requiring enrollees to enter their biographical enrollment information violates a law that only applies to medical data between medical entities, Blackburn demurred:
COSTELLO: So what specifically were you referring to on the website that violates, that could possibly violate HIPAA?
BLACKBURN: We are concerned about privacy overall. Data security privacy and of course applying and complying with the HIPAA laws, and…
COSTELLO: But what question specifically asks that would concern you about HIPAA, what medical question does it ask?
BLACKBURN: Carol, HIPAA requires you to — it’s the way you structure your website and the way you transit the information, the transfer rights that are there, and when you look at privacy on these websites, what you have to do is keep all of the application information in one server [...]
COSTELLO: I’m trying to understand what kind of information you’re talking about. What kind of information are you talking about? What specifically does the website ask that I might be afraid might shared with whomever? Specifically. What information?
BLACKBURN: You should be very concerned not only as you navigate the website but as you make a purchase, and then as your information is handled, what we want to make certain is that an individual’s medical information their financial information is all going to be kept in a private manner. What we do not want is a peeping Tom who is going to look through their PII, their personal identifying information. they want to make certain the federal government has standards and are applying and abiding by the privacy laws that are on the books and by the HIPAA regulations that every hospital and every doctor abide by. so this is a serious investigation, looking at the entire roll-out and launch of this website, how this data is being used.
The is nothing like a visual.  Watch as Blackburn completely ignores the final question.

The really sad part of GOP lock-step; it does not hide the fact that the party has no interest in the benefits of the ACA.  Their uber wealthy money-brokers are against the ACA. When coupled with systemic GOP lack of compassion for policy and practice that reach into the humane, the outcome is what you see: nothing.  Ever notice that when asked how the GOP would replace the ACA, they simply shut-up. They do not respond. They will not speak on replacing because they have no interest in healthcare or insurance reform.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Marsha Blackburn (R) TN Joined CNN for Another Machine Gun Like Talking Session

It seems once per week Marsha Blackburn appears on CNN or Fox News...and to a less degree MSNBC,  to spew very flawed GOP talking points.  I am beginning to come to a few conclusions:
I. Blackburn must view herself as some sort of beauty contest figure.

II. The GOP feels she is a competent talking head.
III. The GOP and Blackburn operates from a paradigm that is completely clouded by Koch contributions.
IV. The GOP viewers the majority of the nation in the same contemptible manner in which it views its voter and money backers.
V. The GOP must regard other network researchers and high information viewers (people) in the greater population with the same level of disdain as they view Fox New's researchers.  The GOP fails to realize Fox News research work form a perspective of developing false propaganda to support the likes of Blackburn and her party.
Watch the Tennessee auto-fire mouth piece. She never answered Carol Costello's question. Factually, she cannot answer the question.
