CNN's Cuomo Invites Kellyanne Conway To A Gish Gallop Debacle

 Gish Gallop
... is a technique, named after the creationist Duane Gish who employed it, whereby someone argues a cause by hurling as many different half-truths and no-truths into a very short space of time so that their opponent cannot hope to combat each point in real time.

Kellyanne Conway Gish Gallops Chris Cuomo
Last night CNN's Chris Cuomo solidified my belief many TV news production teams and on-air hosts are about ratings and little more. Cuomo has a tendency to seek and book conservative talking heads on his Prime Time show for his version of the CNN on-air guest combat model. The model has grown tiring and trite. Viewers know that the liberal guest will go Left; they also know the conservative guest will go Right. While biased I must state the conservative guest are more often than not GOP operatives who serve their wallets via lucrative CNN paychecks as well as Trump talking heads who serve their leader via spewing garbage.

What follows is a serious of video to make a case, Cuomo should avoid offering platforms for highly paid liars. That mission is well served by Fox News and Sinclair broadcasting along with many right-wing radio hosts.

First a piece of Cuomo with Conway. The interview ran for 39 minutes and at times was outright excruciating in its silliness. There were moments when the host succumbs to Conway's slick offensive assertions he actually defended himself as if trying to wave of the wind from his face while standing in a Cat 5 hurricane.
Huffington Post published a piece earlier today with Conway's husband, longtime Trump critic, seems to do what Cuomo should have done early in his 39-minute debacle.

And, Cuomo continued with the ridiculous.
After Cuomo allowed 39 minutes of a professional Gish Gallop employed by a person who lies form the moment he awakens until he lays down his iPhone in the wee hours, Don Lemon follow Cuomo's Prime Time with the most apropos question of 2018.  "Why?"

What follows is a prime example of TV journalism as it polices itself with necessary questioning of what might be a cheap ratings trick via Cuomo.  He obviously wants to have more conservative viewers during his time slot. But at what cost? Why offer a platform to a documented liar who works for a pathological liar whose shared mission is to pull the wool over the minds of certain segments of the population.

Watch as Lemon's disbelieving nonverbals regarding Cuomo's comments. The Prime Time host's remarks about playing the victim to show core values of Trumpism is pure malarkey. "......they attack me!" They attack everyone other than Trumps family and Cuomo offering himself up on a metaphoric guillotine is pure bunk and not healthyTV news.

Yes, Conway performed well for Trump while Cuomo ...well...

Trump's Covers His Potential Election Malfeances Via Clutching Obama (VIDEO)

Quick Hit Video...

Chris Cuomo ran a segment a few days ago regarding Trump's claim he hasn't done anything wrong regarding campaign issues. He further, as has become common, reached to drag former president Obama into the same or similar correction and fines.

Alas, Cuomo has also addressed Trunp's often stated mantra about his wondeful economy. Of course, the economy is doing well, but Trump is hardly the sole impetus for an econmy which started a turn-around after the Obama Stimulus. As we frequently state, Trump should celebrate the fact the econmy (to date) hasn't collapsed. His wealthy tax cut and a return to Bush-ike deregulation have offered a bump to the cnomy he inherited in 2017, but he is hardly the fahter of our current good times.

Rememebr, we have an election in a few weeks. The party which is facilitating an enabling Trump's Keystone Cop administration has majority in both Houses of Congress.

As Trump's World Turns: Michael Cohen.Consigliere VIDEO

Is The Consigliere Ready To Speak?

As the backside of the following story unfolds, most of us can look back and think: well, of course, Trump knew of the meeting. As the meeting participants prepared for their 'dirt" session Trump gleefully stood on-camera and promised ''dirt on Clinton".

Last night CNN broke a story which has both sides of the Trump "payoff of the Playboy Model (bunny)" issue scrambling to control the media. Trump's camp will not admit to leaking the information. Michael Cohen's Camp indicate being

The CNN Breaking News of last night.

Well, now we have an admission of knowing via both camps based on the backside efforts to control the story. Does it actually matter who leaked the story?

It actually does matter. Let's see how MSNBC's Rachel Maddow covered the story as it broke on a competing CNN Show.

After the revelation, Trump's Number One Cable News rationalizer and supposed lawyer visited with Chris Cuomo. The segment is three minutes plus in run-time, and most of the talking is mere host/guest verbal jousting, at one moment Cuomo nails the segment regarding its worthiness regarding the Cohen revelation.

Rick Santorum: CNN's Right Wing Punching Bag

Image result for BLAH People

Have you got five more minutes?

It appears Chris Cuomo and his production team again snared a conservative talking head replete with Trump supportive rational regarding Trump's lies: Rick Santorum.

Yes, Mr. BLAH PEOPLE himself fulfilled another contractual setting in his work for CNN via making a fool of himself for Cuomo's audience. The perception of foolishness is relative and if one has a history like this making a fool of himself while being paid handsomely via CNN is a no-brainer.

"BLAH people"

Santorum's primary campaign bigoted feed to his Sioux City, Iowa audience was only surpassed by his next day appearance on CNN with host John King while working cleanup mission. Black People became BLAH People. Interesting. I have lived in the US of A for many years and I have yet to view or hear about a species of people called "BLAH." Yet, I will admit to the prospect I live in a sheltered world as Santorum's Iowa audience applauded and yelped rather loudly. It seems they are familiar with the BLAH People species.

Watch Cuomo VS. Santorum via a very onesided example of credibility lost.

Now for a few facts.

And, the "Coffee Boy" Spoke

On October 5th (2017) Geroge Papadopoulos, a Trump campaign adviser, and probable campaign operative pleaded guilty to making false statements to the FBI. His plea agreement document is linked, here.

While the White House dissed Papadopoulos as a "low-level volunteer", some associated with the Trump Administration referred the young operative as a "coffee boy." Michael Caputo, the former campaign official told CNN's Chris Cuomo Papadopoulos was a (mere) coffee boy. While we know Caputo is yet another Trump presstitute who lies for pay on CNN, the one-minute segment is worth an embed. It is interesting to note the on-camera segment was broadcast on Halloween.

"Low-level volunteer", "coffee boy", or ex-Ben Carson adviser, it seems the young operative, is typical of the quality of staff and advisers hired by Trump and his incompetent transition team. Apparently, George has a penchant for drinking and running his mouth after a few too many sips of his favorite libation. The New York Times is reporting Trump's international operative while visiting Australia Papadopoulos got drunk and spilled a few administration killing beans (secrets)  to an official who reported his remarks to the US FBI.

During a night of heavy drinking at an upscale London bar in May 2016, George Papadopoulos, a young foreign policy adviser to the Trump campaign, made a startling revelation to Australia’s top diplomat in Britain: Russia had political dirt on Hillary Clinton.

About three weeks earlier, Mr. Papadopoulos had been told that Moscow had thousands of emails that would embarrass Mrs. Clinton, apparently stolen in an effort to try to damage her campaign.
The Times reporting is stellar press reporting and a possible tsunami wave against Trump's efforts to claim and advance his "no collusion" rhetoric.

If the Times piece doesn't fit our reading preference, I have posted (below) a Twitter thread from Seth Abramson.

(THREAD) BREAKING: The NYT has published a bombshell report on George Papadopoulos—the biggest Trump-Russia news since Flynn's plea. This thread dissects the new revelations—as well as some major implications for the Trump-Russia collusion narrative. I hope you'll read and share.

During Trump's recent impromptu interview with a writer for the New York Times, he stated "no collusion" 16 times in 30 minutes.  Amazingly, the 16 proclamations accompanied 24 verifiable instances of Trump lies ( in the brief interview).

Roy Moore Impacts The GOP, Black Surrogates Losing Battles, And One Minority Escapes The Party

Let us start where it counts: alleged pedophilia.

What you witnessed in the video segment was the long-term effect of inherent in millions who reside in the deep south. Let there be no mistake, the Republicanism is a common mental state across the nation. But, I wager you will not find such a severe case of chronic republicanism couped with over active disregard for pedophilia in most red states.

In order to appreciate current conservative mind-shaping and Trump rationalizing , let's step back for a quick CNN segment regarding Trump's "fine people" comments after the white supremacists rally in Charlottesville, Virginia. "....fine people on both sides."

Now for the point at hand.

Watch as Trump's number one "black" presstitute works for his CNN paycheck. I use the word "Black" due to reality African-American conservatives seem to harbor a great deal of disdain for use of the more common vernacular as an identifier of black people who live in America and are of American ancestry (non-immigrant post slavery).

Paris Rennard battles with CNN host Chris Cuomo.  I would be amazed it in the segment, Rennard didn't throw out his common defense against people "questioning his blackness."  A common ploy which seems to have roots in his own discomfort with his chosen political affiliation.  He also knows 96% of African-Americans hold the GOP in contempt for reasons he chooses to overlook or simply ignore.

Rennard knows, to his core, the GOP doesn't give one damn about the African-American community. If you really need evidence, take a close look.

Take a close look at the Mitt Romney website from the 2012 campaign.

Romney campaign website.

Has anyone ever asked Rennard about the 2012 outreach menu?

As you watch Rennard go about spewing Trump apologism, notice his demeanor and associated strategy when challenged about Roy Moore's affinity for a tine of US slavery. The "blackness defense" rolls-out on cue.

Oh, know Rennard isn't the only Trump talking head who earns a nice paycheck from CNN. The following segment is relevant in understanding the level and scope of Trumpism as its fissures into the black community, via another popular CNN Trump surrogate.

Apparently, one former Breitbart News editor has had enough of the GOP.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: A Sinking GOP- Trump "Punches To the Mouth", Carson More Black Than Obama

Another day of the Donald Trump and his GOP.

Yesterday during a campaign speech in Nevada, Trump was interrupted by a protester. It seems with Trump's GOP, there can be no dissent and no interruption of his reality TV like speeches. Sensitivity to being interrupted in a speech is understandable. Of more importance, how the speaker handles such interruption is an indication of temperament, civility, leadership acumen and class? Trump doesn't seem to possess any such qualities once outside of his various business empires

Trump's way of handle protest from a US Vet enacting a protest on behalf of sensitivity to Muslims shows the current state of the GOP. "I'd like to punch him in the face!" His railing was truly sad and shameful from a candidate who aspires to the Oval Office with all requisite need for temperament in dealing with matters inherent in the US Presidency.

The Telegraph UK Trump to protester Id like to punch you in the face

Oh, the state of the GOP! A party and ideology now in the hands of a reality show entertainer with enough sycophant worshippers to sway elections.

As is the case with all entertainers, what you see and hear before the cameras and on stages are carefully crafted for effectively deliver to the audience. Listen as MSNBC's Scarborough and Brzezinski perform off-camera (with a hot mic) with the carnival barker from Manhattan. If you want to see the developments of a soft interview, check this out.

Watch as the carnival barker sets the stage with handing-off a supportive set of words for the MSNBC host's "pathing" for Trump earlier in the day. It is all about Trump.

Town-Hall hot mic:
Trump: I watched your show this morning. You had me almost as a legendary figure. I like that.

[More good-natured chatting and joshing until the 30-second on-air warning.]

Mika: Do you want me to do the one on deportation?

Joe: We really have to go to some questions.

Trump: That's right. Nothing too hard, Mika.
Le show with Harry Shearer February 21 2016

"You had me almost a legendary figure. I like that."  You have seen if before, it is like an adult positively reinforcing children. And, yes the children really do respond with more glowing words to offer the carnival barker to the Morning Joe audience. Trump gave more from the GOP leader to the host with a bit less devotion to GOP sycophancy. "Nothing too hard, Mika." Trump knows Scarborough will never challenge his reality show charade. Joe is the good conservative.

Let's take a quick look and listen at another issue that has oozed from yet another GOP candidate. The Differentiator, Ben Carson, has for some reason adopted Marco Rubio's tactic of continuous attacks against President Obama. While we recognize the universal hatred of Obama on the Right, we find it ridiculous and shameful the extent to which some GOP candidates will stoop.

Ben Carson has yet again followed former GOP presidential candidate Herman Cain in questioning the upbringing of President Obama as it relates to his race.

While also joining a radio show, Glenn Thrush-Off Message, Carson during a 35-minute interview drew upon the Obama is not black strategy when questioned about his receptivity in the Black Community.

Also linked to CNN audio (linked):
While Carson reached into a deep no-win bucket, you should not in any way be surprised another GOP talking head joined in the fray. Of all people, California's Darell Issa joined in on he inane strategy. Granted, Issa was led into comment via Chris Cuomo, CNN Host, but nonetheless the thought and iteration of Carson as (effectively) more black than Obama, is shameful and ridiculous.

And, The Band Plays On...with a song that remains the same.

Trump Invited To Cable News; Unceasing Bloviator

Donald Trump is a blowhard who is living the life of the celebrity gone "temporary" politician who is tapping into deep root fear, bigotry and loathing in America's poli/social Right.  Trump is as shallow as a tadpole pool and US electronic media offers the potential GOP presidential candidate far too much ratings-garnering indifference.

Trump is finding great success among a segment of the US population and he is finding success without serious media challenges. Without exception we find on-air hosts who stumble over themselves reaping "Mr. Trump, Mr. Trump." all over the bloviating candidate while providing nothing more than non-costs advertisements. Trump doesn't answer questions; he cannot seriously answer most questions from hosts as his scope of knowledge is shallow and he doesn't pay attention to advisers and handlers.  True News media interaction is not his shtick; he is singularly a purveyor of fear and hate laced with overt bigotry and at times adorns a cloak of racist.   When speaking to hordes of sycophant supporters he has free reign to speak the same sermon uninterrupted and with applause. Once, he moves to what he perceives as an unfriendly network interviewer he becomes a "Gish Gallop" bloviator shielding against questions via rambling through he same words he offers on the campaign trail.
Gish Gallop
The Gish Gallop is the debating technique of drowning an opponent in such a torrent of small arguments that the opponent cannot possibly answer or address each one in real time. More often than not, these myriad arguments are full of half-truths, lies, and straw-man arguments — the only condition is that there be many of them, not that they be particularly compelling on their own.
As you listen to Trump think about the definition above.  He will ramble on and on, and if stopped by the interviewer he will immediately "Excuse me" back into the megaphone control position of the interview. The highly compensated interviewer then becomes the bloviating (and begging for a moment) non-control figure who's task is simply to follow direction tot eh next commercial break.

Mediaite captured such a moment this morning as MSNBC early morning conservative, Joe Scarborough, grew visibly anxious with Trump's use of Gish Gallop.
“One other thing–” Trump said in response.“No, no, no, no, no,” Scarborough said. “You’ve got to let us ask questions, you can’t just talk.

Joe Scarborough Cuts to Commercial After Donald Trump Won’t Stop Talking
by Alex Griswold | 8:21 am, December 8th, 2015

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough got so fed up during a Morning Joe interview with Donald Trump that he cut him off and cut to commercial.

Trump gave a long answer to a question from co-host Mika Brzezinski. But when Scarborough tried to cut in to challenge Trump on a few points, he simply talked over the show’s host.
“Alright, Donald–” Scarborough began.
“One other thing–” Trump said in response.
“No, no, no, no, no,” Scarborough said. “You’ve got to let us ask questions, you can’t just talk. You gotta let us ask question, you’re just talking.”
Scarborough then began to ask his question again, but Trump butted in again. “I’m not just talking, I’m giving you the facts.”
“Donald, we will go to break if you keep talking,” Scarborough finally said angrily.
Trump naturally kept on talking. “Alright, go to break everyone,” Scarborough told his producers. “Go to break right now, we’ll be right back with Morning Joe.”
Sure enough, they went to break.
It should be noted MSNBC ever cautious about a viewer ratings hit, directed Scarborough's co-host to alert the show's conservative viewers that the completely Trump interview would re-run within the following tow hours. How pathetic of the MSNBC management?

If you need another media example of Trump's mastery of the Gish Gallop, CNN's Chris Cuomo was his next victim. Cuomo even demurred to Trump's stopping the host in mid-sentence and forcefully directing the host to give him a couple of seconds. he then ran off soon another two to three-minute diatribe. Linked here Part 1, here Part 2.

We understand the reason for offering presidential candidates air-time. It is the right thing to do when possible and it captures viewers. But, why offer a platform to a Gish Gallop master, if the host, her/his producers, and network managers know his technique for over-talking throughout the satellite time driven segment? Basically, if he candidate consumes the majority of the airtime Gish Galloping with the same statements he makes with each appearance, why not offer viewers others views of the candidate via tweaking the interview model.

When the reality show celebrity turns news networks into ratings seeking co-conspirators in feeding the public Trump 'bullcrap.' we all lose in the long run. Despite the unconstitutionality and extreme cost (USD and international shame) of Trumps proposal, we find among his supporters people who support bombing people into oblivion: "...they reproduce." The woman spoke as if hiring an exterminator to ride her house of an ant colony.

We note that earlier today, House Speaker, Paul Ryan spoke against Trumps latest foray into deep bigotry.

Women Issues Are KiIlling the GOP

Trump as Opportunist Liar

After making shameful remarks about Republican candidate Carly Fiorina's looks, Trump, as usual came back with an insulting lie. Insulting that he would actually feel the collective intellect of the nation is similar to those who support his every move and utterance his celebrity worshiping sycophants.

A response when questioned about the personal attack on Fiorina:
“The writer actually called me and said, ‘I’m so upset, I wrote this great story and Jann Wenner screwed it up,'" the mogul stated.
The problem with such a deep lie, the perpetrator fails to properly assess the reality of a cable news host asking the writer if the statement is true (See Anderson Cooper 360 below)

Let's first visit with a quick video of Anderson Cooper with CNN's Brian Steltar.

CNN Brian Steltar with Anderson Cooper; 1:25 minutes on the Trump's horrific (latest) attack on a woman.

CNN's Chris Cuomo attempts to speak rationally with an irritations Trump (who was covering a lie).

The real sadness associated with Trump is the extent to which Americans are buying into the bull. I have recently read comments from people who I know are progressive both socially and politically, who ahve comment about an affinity (albeit it momentarily fleeting) form Trump's bull-crap rhetoric.

Trump is only the tip of the Iceberg.....We offer a quick visit with another GOP candidate who seems to be wearing a cloak of the charlatan.

Huckabee as charlatan opportunist

There is something seriously wrong in the GOP and Reince Priebus's mission seems to have failed. These are not "fine candidates" as he recently stated on national TV.
