The Daily GOP Ignominious: Mitt Romney Shoots Himself In The Foot...AGAIN!

When you do this, make sure your aim before you shoot!

As we watch the Romney Campaign stumble over its boots and spurs, it is becoming increasingly sad.  In an effort to upstage President Obama and using the desperate' campaign mantra of "apologizing" for the United States, Romney again stepped into his horse's poop.  I do not think this step is going to wash-off as easily as 'etch-a-sketching yet another lie. Yet, all do not agree with his, "shooting before taking aim".

Romney can bask in the glory of praise from couple of 'super' quacks. While the vast majority of media and pundits, progressive and conservative, have commented about the amateurishness of Romney's premature and inaccurate statements, it should be noted a couple of well-known quacks are supporting him. I have heard within the hour that Sarah Plain and Allen West (R) Fla. have indicated agreement with Romney's efforts to discredit the president.  After such a ringing endorsement from two who 'count', I truly hope Romney is not finding any solace in his misstep. Endorsements and support from those two is comparable to falling off his horse.

Martin Bashir, MSNBC, summed-up the FIASCO  very well.

The segment is 10:46 minutes long, but you must watch it, if you want perspective on the scope of the latest Romney blunder.

I know that was a bit long, but this is a serous matter.  Romney is a dangerous man, doing dangerous things, during dangerous times! Let's take quick look at how President Obama reacted to Romney's shot to his own foot. CBS News....

Obama: Romney shoots first, aims later

By

 Brian Montopoli
 Updated 4:53 p.m. Eastern Time
(CBS News) In response to Mitt Romney's criticism of the Obama administration for its handling of recent violence in Egypt and Libya, President Obama told CBS News on Wednesday that Romney "seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later."
"There's a broader lesson to be learned here," Mr. Obama told "60 Minutes" correspondent Steve Kroft at the White House. "And I -- you know, Governor Romney seems to have a tendency to shoot first and aim later. And as president, one of the things I've learned is you can't do that. That, you know, it's important for you to make sure that the statements that you make are backed up by the facts. And that you've thought through the ramifications before you make 'em."

Ann Romney Speaks Language of the Elitist

"You people"  "Grownups"

Ann Romney is not a topic that we discuss or report on.  We did delve deep when she commented that she and her husband would release no more tax returns, "...because you people....".

There are certain words and phrases us common people have learned not to use as part of our (language) lexicon.  How many times have a people been referred to as "you people".  Unfortunately, the phraseology has been snarled at people of color far more than any white American.  The words are basically a form of uppity "holier than though' sentiment  reserved for settings comparable to those depicted in the move "The Help" or the movie "To Kill A Mockingbird".   The words are not common to the average American, and you know it as well as I know it.   The words can be echoed by reflecting back on those famous fabled words attributed to Maria Antionette.   I can see Antoinette barking , 'you people, you people..." and "let them eat cake".

Romney's Campaign Website "Communities" Excludes African-Americans

If Americans watch the GOP very closely it is easy to discern their party's inner values, core beliefs and social/political model.

Joy-Ann Reid of The Grio has reported on Romney and his campaign's absence of acknowledgment of the African-American experience in the United States of America. The Romney Campaign official website doe snot acknowledge the African-American Community via its communities drop down list. (see below)

Over the course of the Romney Campaign, telling facts about Romney's core beliefs have oozed out like a severely infected laceration.

First, Romney is rarely observed in the company of African-Americans. I will  excuse his debate stage proximity to Hermann Cain. Yet, I could have avoided excusing Cain as Cain's perception of African-American is diametrically opposite the mindset of the nation's third largest ethnic populace. The one example of Romney with a large group of group of black people was his staged interaction among a group of children a few years back. Yes, the street corner drop-off scene at which Romney hugged a couple of kids while exclaiming, "....who let the dogs out".  He has visited groups of African-Americans in Philadelphia, but he did so among local concern for how that interaction was setup an  by whom.  And, then there is the now famous speech at the NAACP. A speech that has gone down in history as a staged and psychical manifestation of the GOP southern-strategy.  The very next day, Romney spoke about his reaction at the event while stating with a great deal of contempt, "if they thought I was coming to hand out a bunch of free stuff".

Some would say Romney's remarks seem to emanate from one who is as a minimum bigoted and consumed with typical conservative American aversion to black people.  I say Romney is so far removed from all things black, he exudes overwhelming  insensitivity to issues relevant to African-Americans.  He does not understand that black people collectively have little interest in his handouts. I think it safe to say the majority of people and children who receive aid from federal and state governments are far more ethnically similar to Romney.

As you read towards the following excerpt from The Grio, think about a couple of additional examples of Romney Campaign indifference to the African-American community.  Was it Romney adviser Sunnunu who spoke about Obama as not  of the American experience (paraphrased)?  The comment sounds remarkably similar to another reported example of Romney m racism.  An adviser to Romney spoke to a member of the British press about, Obama is not of the Anglo-Saxon' experience (paraphrased).

The following is unequivocal evidence of Romney's paradigm, social views, and perspective on federal governance for all Americans.

Joy-Ann Reid reports on conservative African-America reaction to the GOP leaders . "in your face" complete indifference to 13% of the voting public.

I am curious for response for Allen West, Herman Cain and a few (of the few) blacks who carry the GOP flag, while, frankly 'moonshing' for Conservative America's favor.

Romney campaign website.

Mitt Romney’s presidential campaign website includes a category for “Communities,” under which you’ll find nearly every kind of demographic group: “Catholics for Romney,” “Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders for Romney,” farmers and ranchers, lawyers, Jewish and Polish Americans, veterans and military families, young Americans, even Hispanics, under the banner “Juntos for Romney” — which may or may not be ironic given Romney’s stance on “self-deportation.” But one thing you won’t find on the site: African-Americans for Romney.

And some black Republicans are not happy about it.

“It’s shameful,” said one prominent black, “west coast” Republican, who contacted theGrio about the admission, but preferred not to use their name. The source said they have been involved in Republican politics “throughout the modern era,” and said they couldn’t recall a single GOP campaign that didn’t include some formal attempt at black outreach, particularly online.

When reached for comment, Tara Wall, senior communications and coalitions adviser to the Romney campaign told The Grio: ”We have a working advisory group, but it has not been formally announced yet. We have the site ready to go.
While the GOP and their leaders do not care about Wall Street Journal poll showing zero (0) zero percent of African-Americans are inclined to vote for the Romney/Ryan ticket, the poll may now read a minus 10 per cent (If there is such a number) would vote for Romney.

Was it Joe Scarborough who exclaimed after the Todd Akin "omitting',"I am tired of being the party of stupid'?

Well, Joe The late Reggae performer Bob Marley once wrote and sang, "Who da cap fit, gotta wear it".

"I like to fire people who provide services to me". Mitt Romney

Before I bow out of the way of MoveOn Dot Org, I want to make a comment, or two.   The information graphic (below) from MoveOn  is a great piece of political advertising and persuasive messaging.

The title above is characteristic or the typical "cavalier CEO".  Actually, the statement goes a step further. It show a deep degree of callousness for people as people sometime do not fulfill all they set out to accomplish.  They sometimes fall just shy of goals or did not totally fulfill a service agreement.  We are not perfect (Neither is the cavalier Mitt Romney). Does the person who sits 'on-high' have an ethical right to relish "firing people"?

As one who spent many years in management for Fortune 250 corporations, I learned a few things about 'terminating the employment relationship (AKA firing people).  The most important of all lessons learned is the simple fact that terminating a person means you are also terminating their family (Kids, grand kids, wife, household, medical coverage).  If the 'firing' is a matter of simply falling shy of expectation, what personal  psyche lives in a world of relishing' banishing a finally off into oblivion?  It takes a very special breed.  While totally unrelated, I will add it takes the same psyche that would place a house dog on the top of a car that exceeds 20 miles per hour.  Yes, I went there.  Mitt Romney is strikingly robotic and unfeeling.

Successful venture capitalist, e,g,. vulture capitalist, are generally of the aforementioned ilk. They know when close (the deal) on an acquisition, jobs will be dispatched.  Job losses in such cases is a given, despite the CEO's frequent promise of, "...we are not here to take your job".  No, they come-in and dispatch the employees job thus dispatching the employee  to the employment services office.

It is almost unfathomable to believe people actually believe anyone with a background akin tot that of Mitt Romney would care one iota about Medicare.  Is it actually believable that 30 plus US millionaires (including billionaires) are contributing record amounts to GOP campaign advertising to preserve Medicare?  While Romney and Ryan are 'point people' for moneyed interest that seek further protection from burdens on their ability to make and horde money, their rhetoric should be a critical factor. Romney as proven he is a serial lair.  A serial liar would not choose a VP candidate who did not possess the same personal shortcomings.

"Firing people" for Romney is as second nature as borrowing federal money to facilitate vulture capital ventures. It is his nature, 'I like to fire people who provide services to me".   If you have never heard or read the fabled "Scorpion and the Frog"....

60 Minutes with Romney and Ryan...not totally synced

Your papers please?
Sam Stein of the Huffington Post has published  a brief piece on yesterday's Romney/Ryan CBS Bob Schiefer interview.

During the interview  Ryan mentioned he would only release two years of tax returns. Ahhhh, I read over this past weekend that the Romney camp has requested multiple years of tax returns from the top three to four candidates.  It seems Ryan will, of course, follow the Romney script and hide tax information from the voting public.

Huff Post.....

The Wisconsin Republican, appearing alongside Romney on "60 Minutes" for their first joint media interview, seemed poised and assured throughout the 15-minute segment. When pressed with a question about tax returns -- a topic that has dogged Romney -- Ryan had a ready answer.

"It was a very exhaustive vetting process," he told CBS's Bob Schiefer. "It is a confidential vetting process. So there were several years. But I'm going to release the same amount of years that Governor Romney has. But I got to tell you Bob -- two, I'm going to be releasing two, which is what he's releasing -– what I hear from people around this country, they are not asking, 'Where are the tax returns,' they are asking where the jobs are? Where is the economic growth?"
Romney has yet to release to full years of returns.  Ryan mentions the American people asking about "jobs". has Ryan told the American people why he and his party have avoided any and all jobs bills proposed by the Administration.

Talking-points abound from the GOP.

Obama in Colorado; Coulter Rollsout the Sexist Card!

President Obama has spent a few days campaigning in a state win won in 2008: Colorado.  No matter what Dick Cheney Dick Cheney attempt to retract his truthful statement about the zaniness of placing Palin on the 2008, there are millions who voted for Obama based in horrid GOP Ticket.  Obama does not have same scenario in 2012.

Although Romney has not gone transparent with his choice for the VP slot, he will not make the extreme blunder of 2008. He will not place a veritable idiot on the ticket.  The thought of a woman on the GOP ticket is also 'way-out-there' in a field Romney will not cultivate.  While Romney has a commanding lead in the state [Romney, 50 percent to 45 percent Obama], he is not appealing to a voting bloc that is critical for a win in 2012. He is trailing significantly with women voters in Colorado [among women in Colorado, 51 percent to 43 percent]. Other national poll numbers show single women support Obama over Romney; conversely married women support Romney over Obama. Now, there is a set of stats worthy of exploitation.  One intriguing factor related to that data. It is impossible to believe  voters in minority communities share the stated married/single poll spread.  A topic for a different day and time.

[snip] Ann Coulter Melts Down on Hannity's Show Over RomneyCare

Beyond the obvious source of her aggravation, though, there were some other pretty weird and revealing statements. Remember that Fox calls itself a "news network." Yet listen to Coulter rant at Hannity about how Andrea Saul's statement negates everything "she does, everything he does" to get Mittens elected.

Note Added for emphasis: Watch the Mitt Romney Press Secretary make a campaign killing factual statement. Also notice, the quality of Press Secretary for the Romney Campaign. Ms. Saul reminds of a college intern working her way through an Associate Degree in Political Science.

[cue sarcasm]
Oh really? Their job is to get Romney elected? What about the news? What about that whole "fair and balanced" thing? No, no, listen to Coulter as she goes off about donors and how hard "they" are ALL working to get Romney elected only so Andrea Saul can ruin it all by bringing up Romneycare! [end sarcasm]

It's shameless and bizarre, and delicious. Especially delicious to see Ann beside herself with all the fury of a harpy spurned...despite the fact that she called the election back in 2010 when she said they'd lose with Mitt instead of Chris Christie.

Romney Embarks on Welfare 'Code' Strategy

A few weeks back, well before Mitt Romney's disastrous and amateurish overseas campaign (fundraiser) trip, the Romney campaign expressly stated the they would move to 'no holds barred' campaigning.  The campaign's decision to move to bigoted/racist and 'we follow-orders' remarks came after a day of Rush Limbaugh encouragement to 'otherize' President Obama.  The only way to "otherize" the president is for Romney and his staff to go racial.

Watch Romney on his new strategy.

Here it is, in all of its shameful splendor.

Let's take a quick look at a Media Matters perspective of my point.

Media Matters....

Rush Limbaugh's Campaign To "Otherize" Obama

 JULY 30, 2012 7:16 AM EDT .... MARCUS FELDMAN

We witnessed a clear example of use of the GOP 'southern strategy' as a top Romney aide spoke with a member of the British press.  I believe the comment was something along the line of, "Obama is just not of the Anglo-Saxon' ilk.  How very horrible, as the spokesperson obviously attempted to 'closet his racist attack via use of a wrong set of phraseology?  He should have just gone right out and said what was in her/his heart and following the southern strategy script......"but Obama is black".  And, how cheap and low was it to make the remark to a member of the British press. Do you have to wonder why the spokesperson took it there?

Romney Camp admit Offshore Hiding Places

Huffington Post is reporting.....

Mitt Romney: Cayman Islands Accounts Used By Foreign Investors To 'Not Be Subject To' U.S. Taxes

WASHINGTON -- Some tax experts are alarmed by Mitt Romney's apparent admission that Bain Capital set up offshore accounts in the Cayman Islands to help wealthy investors avoid paying U.S. taxes.

During an interview with the National Review's Robert Costa, Romney said that offshore sub-companies in the Cayman Islands help foreign investors avoid paying taxes on investments in the United States. Bain Capital currently has 138 such sub-companies headquartered in the Cayman Islands.

Rush Limbaugh GOP Party Leader

The ideology leader of the GOP

People will sometimes challenge me on my position that Rush Limbaugh is factually the ideological leader of the GOP.  The common retort is right from the conservative bag of,
'rationalization", "Limbaugh is an entertainer".  If find retort extremely offensive from many perspectives.  First, are his racist rants so easily assimilated into the conservative psyche and written-off as entertainment? Joseph Geobbels did same for Nazi Germany.  If the speaker is relaying that message to me, "Limbaugh is an entertainer", then the speaker is telling me, "He entertains me".

Next, those who refuse to admit Rush Limbaugh has more influence of a major segment of conservative America than the US Congress (collectively) live in a fantasy land with Limbaugh held in high esteem like a Wizard of Oz.

Since I am including video in this piece, allow me to have the vids make my point about Limbaugh's leadership of the GOP.

Limbaugh July 16, 2012

In other words, "GOP go ethnic, grab falsehoods. lies and cheap innuendo as strategy". "Romney, bring back that campaign strategies that points to our president as' "THE OTHER"!  "He is not like us, he is not American!"

GOP July 17, 2012

Sunnunu has been spewing fire on any network that will give him a camera and a seat for months.  His disdain for, better yet hatred of, America's 44th President is so very obvious.  Well, his angst and his following the instruction of the GOP Ideological Leader, Limbaugh, has led to yet another false apology.  APOLOGY!  Sunnunu and Romney deploy the time proven race baiting GOP 'southern strategy' and one pundit gives a perfunctory apology.
Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum also deployed the southern Strategy. rick Perry might have dared, but his use was pre-empted by revelation of his fathers ranch headstone, "Nigger Head".  As Perry might say, "ah sucks". Gingrich actually won one of the top three conservative states in America via use of the strategy. Why not follow Limbaugh's ignorance and do same?
The GOP is 92 per cent a party of American whites. No real problem there.  The problem; the party wants to force its ideology, policies and governing practices on the rest of the nation.  Women must also note the party is the domain of the white male.  One has to only watch the party's actions since the 2010 election for full perspective of GOP authoritarianism against women. An election that was effectively stolen via the Koch Brothers, Dick Armey, and Karl Rove via the Tea Party.
The real question is, does Rush Limbaugh set the political and social agenda for you, the conservative voter?

Romney's major mistake with the NAACP (VIDEO)

Save him from himself!  He has stepped on a significant segment of the US population  and he insults with paid stooges!

Mitt Romney's charading beyond belief, throwing sophism around like passwords for secret off-shore accounts, and flat disrespecting the NAACP audience are typical GOP.   As I read comments from viewers and listeners throughout the day, I heard about the booing. I also heard about the claps of support, yet I did not hear about the lies about meetings with officials of the NAACP.

Of most importance and exponentially more startling are reports of 'bussed-in" cheerers.  Al Sharpton of MSNBC's Politics Nation, delved into the Romney NAACP visit.  I have to admit Sharpton's guests thoroughly explore what is growing to appear as more Karl Rovian political subterfuge and social malfeasance.

The progressive analysis continued with the Ed Show. You may wish to pay very close attention to the NAACP Executive, Hiliary Shelton. on what could be 'media rigging'.  If you notice a bit of surprise applause, stick with us. After this video, read the linked article from Politicususa. The article provides validation as one considers the comprehensive reporting and comment about Romney's 'serial lying' and his inability to interact with people from a rational and reality based perspective.
.
Wow, even I never thought Romney and the GOP would perform a 'play to their base race card'.  It seems the pundits have a point in exciting the base via boos form an all African-American national convention.  I do not even think the 'southern strategy' master Lee Atwater would have used the Black Community as a 'wipe one's feet rug' for sake solidifying votes from the far-rightest of GOP voters.
If this piece has not shed telling insight into the low levels of GOP politics, you are almost beyond rational.

Rick Scott declares, "debate" over. What debate, how about Justice Dept. order!

GOP Race to the bottom
And the Tea Party winner is.....Rick Scott!

Huffintgton Post and MSNBC have independently reported on Rick Scott's efforts to suppress votes in Florida.  Despite Justice Department orders to stop gubernatorial ordered lists to suppress voters rosters, voting supervisors are reticent to investigate and eliminate voters from active voter rosters.  Data related to ethnic demographics are obviously focused on reducing minority voters across the state.

Scott has declared a unseen debate closed.  I have followed the developing suppression very closely; I have not observed nor read about a 'debate'. I see a state governor and Secy. of State, with a suspect history of fixed elections, defying Justice Department orders to stop purging voters. Before I offer a bit of information from Huffington Post, let me say this is the very reason, I and millions are suspect of the GOP's "state's rights" mantra.  Oh, the GOP would love to have its ALEC back stooges administering ALEC legislation and ALEC policies as they "manage" people. The ALEC sponsored GOP, is a tool and circular facilitator of benefits to the members of ALEC, and that means profits to ALEC members, nothing less.

"The debate's over," Scott told CNN. "We know we have almost 100 individuals that have registered to vote that are non-U.S. citizens. Over 50 of them have voted in our elections."
Earlier counts by Florida officials suggested that they'd found 87 non-citizens on the voter rolls, 47 of whom had voted. That was out of a list of 2,700 potential names pared down from an original catalogue of around 182,000. The final list was also judged to have contained 500 names of voters who were legitimate U.S. citizens.
According to a Miami-Herald analysis, more than 60 percent of the voters on the list are black or Latino.

Read More linked above.

Now take a few minutes and follow the same story only form broadcast media.

As I have written many times, the GOP needs for Mitt Romney to have any real prospect of winning this November.  If you think for one second that well-oiled-shifty-underhanded and deceitful political operatives in the GOP do not understand reducing historic Democratic P{arty voting blocs, you have your evening news dial set to only one network: Fox News and the three Keystone Cop broadcasters. You have been brainwashed by "bloviating" O'Reilly, "tape edit fiend" Hannity, and "say anything you please"  Van Sustren.

It appears Rick Scott is governing very close to dangerously obtuse, in-you-face hardheadedness.  The Justice Department should take as hard a stance against the Governor as did JFK and LBJ in the mid-1960s.

George Will takes on the "Trump' Card"

They really do deserve each other!

Mitt Romney is about securing as many endorsers as possible is an effort to secure the nation's vote in November 2012. Well, of course, so is the President of the United States; with one exception. He does not need public endorsements to the level of his opponent; the benefit of incumbency.

All is fair in politics and war, correct? Well, sort of correct anyway. How many times during the 2008 Election did candidate McCain distance himself from Evangelical preachers? Obama also placed ground between himself and the Conservative 'trumped' up Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Wright was not an endorser of candidate Obama, but their past certainly became an item for a short period of time. Let me correct last. Their past church pastor/congregation member, continues to be an item for some on the Right, who earn money via efforts to defeat the president or from the true whack jobs like Sarah Palin. Of course, Palin feeds opportunity to earn money via her remarks and she also qualifies as a political whack-job.

Mitt Romney has a dual problem with endorsements: he needs popular (with his base) faces and he needs money for his campaign hoppers. Donald Trump endorsed Romney towards the middle of 2011. Now, it is time for Trumps endorsement to convert to cash dollars ,first, and fan votes second. After the Obama George Clooney home affair and the resultant $16 million dollars haul, Romney is within his right mind to seek similar opportunity. If fact, he would be of unsound mind to pass-on an opportunity to use celebrity for fund raising.
