As Trump's World Turns: When The Polls Don't LIe; FIre The Pollsters

Image result for abc news trump

Watch at the 1:00-minute mark. Trump with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. After Trump's internal pollings numbers were leak showing he is training Joe Biden in all states, Trump plays the "Lie Card" Actually, he went off the record in the interviews an ordered a call to someone on his tea with a request for polling numbers. You will notice the cameras do not return to the limo interview. Or, is his behavior best represented by the word delusional?"
"I don't believe those polls. There's no way [former Vice President Joe Biden] beats me in Texas," Trump told ABC News Chief Anchor George Stephanopoulos on Tuesday during an exclusive interview. "No, my polls show that I'm winning everywhere."
ABC's piece report Trump continued with his diatribe response to the point of using the "T" word (truth). There isn't a person in industrialized Earth who doesn't know that Trump is absent the ability, to tell the truth. (Washington Post April 2019)
"Nobody showed you those polls because those polls don't exist, George. Those polls don't exist. I'm losing in 15 out of 17 states? Those polls don't exist," Trump said. "I just was given a meeting with my pollster who I frankly don't even believe in pollsters if you want to know the truth, you just run a campaign and whatever it is, it is, but I just had a meeting with somebody that's a pollster and I'm winning everywhere, so I don't know what you're talking about."

On June 10th, 2019 The New York Times reported Trump knew was formed of the polling data and instructed his staff to deny the numbers.

After working through the proceeding, you have to know what comes next.  Trump fired the pollsters. Crooks And Liars.

Campaign Trump

Today with an insertion of the word "check."

Trump: 'I never meant' Mexico would 'write a check' for the wall

On Wednesday The Daily Show broadcast  2004 commencement speech at which Donald Trump was the guest speaker. The speech ran much longer than the 16 seconds we have chosen to make a point concerning Trump, a border wall, and phoniness some would call hypocrisy. As to the length of the posted segment: We don't do Trump oratory.

Watch and listen.

Now a bit of information that some readers would prefer to find in two to three paragraphs. We prefer the value of a visual with a cogent message.

Since we eventually received confirmation Mexico was not going to pay for Trump's campaign promise, you and I are being forced to pay for a structure which is totally unnecessary.

If you want to see how mystical a world we share check out something from an old 1958 TV show called Trackdown.  The 2-minute segment is part of a twitter post which identified sufficiently.

Trump's Border Wall (Santorum Reaches Back To Obama)

Do you recall Santorum going there in the midst of his fail 2012 Presidential primary run? After terminating a few right-wing talking heads CNN came around to hiring the far less than credible former US Senator to provide comment from the Right even when such comment verges on out-of-this-world demagoguery.

CNN efforts to milk coverage of Trump's false issues regarding the US southern border for another visit with "BLAH" People Santorum. When asked about support for Trump's border wall or lack thereof, Santorum launched into a tirade and factless set of commentary as icing (on the cake) via the charge against the Obama Administration.

While we recognize Santorum fills a role of conservative punching bag for CNN's viewers, we often fail to recognize Santorum also fills a role for Trump. He is a non-credible right-wing (far right) taking head who serves his dual role very well. Santorum peppers CNN conservative viewers with inane and ridiculous orator while sitting as a punching bag for rational arguments from CNN hosts and Left-wing guests.

Watch what follows.
'
If you are not a conservative who refuses to accept the reality of Obama fiscal and economic policy, you might believe Santorum's demagoguery. Santorum knows better; in fact, he knows this...

Days before the nation's 44th President left office Business Insider published 10 charts which captured the reality of eight years of Obama economic policy.

January 2017

01 obama economy unemployment update
Unemployment

Job Growth 75 Months
02 obama economy jobs
Stock Market
05 obama economy stock market
Seven additional charts are linked via the Business Insider link above.
The Business Insider charts also offer visual proof any claims by the Trump White House of total responsibility for the US economy post the fourth quarter of this year is a "win" for Trump Policy is both shameful and ridiculous. Shameful in its utter disregard for people who actually listen to Trump and his cabal. Ridiculous regarding the level such claims are filled with outright lies and easily refutable.
Santorum is what he is: a right-wing talking head who garners hundreds of thousand dollars spewing oratory and comment for America's right.  While we understand the CNN business model; we do not see the value in one-sided social and political comment (Left or Right), we wonder about the usefulness and quietly of CNN's staging right-wing hacks to fill airtime.
Let's close on a revealing note. What about this?

How To Interview Trump Pundit

"No, it’s false. It’s a misstatement.” “That doesn’t mean it’s a lie, OK?”

Well, actually, no it is not ,"OK." IT IS A LIE!

On November 2, 2018 The Washington Post reported Trump has lied 6420 times in his less than two years in the White House.  On the same day, CNN addressed Trump's lies as follows. CNN linked.

Trump's ever-present pathological lie is a fact. A reality as surely as the man is averse to appearing in rainy or wet weather. Isn't it sad a US President has to avoid Earth's climates to maintain a false representation of the actual person. Even more a tragedy is the over-the-top use of the lie to also makes the real person. a reality which exist as a for of double-entendre. It is good to finally see CNN and most MSNBC hosts address Trump's pervasive use of the lie.

Quick Hit: A lesson in who to deal with Trump TV pundits. It is unfortunate the lesson comes from foreign (Middle Eastern to be specific) media. US media has finally come-around to labeling Trump's daily lies as lies, but neither CNN or MSNBC has offered TV journalism as such.
When US media moves to direct journalist as such more Americans will see the underbelly of a president who lies well before any thoughts of the truth.

6.420 Lies In 18 Months

Now, that is a Presidential Record

Let's take a quick look at the first major and unnecessary lie from the Trump White House. The "hugely" lie took place the day after the inauguration. The Inauguration crowd size.

Image result for obama vs trump presidential lies

OK, a benefit of the doubt; a later version.

A composite image shows the inauguration crows for Barack Obama in 2009, left, and Donald Trump in 2017.

Trump's Press Secretary, the ill-fated Sean Spicer was sent before the world to issue a lie which was without question shameful, embarrassing, and an indication of what was to come.

Never have so few lied so much. And, we had no idea of lie Number 1 running up to lie Number 6,420 inside of 18 months in office. Oh, we actually had some idea of what was to come, but the rational among us have to wonder about the impact f Trumps lying on his supporters.

How difficult was it for Trump's supporters to see the light as a majority of voters saw the light?

Mexico hasn't built the wall.

Trump isn't working so hard he "...won't have time for golf." (Part II)

Trump and his economic team have not built a great economy. They have managed to avoid collapsing the virtual growth of the Obama stimulus of 2009. A collapse the administration seems committed to collapsing via sear economic incompetence.

Trump seems to be a lazy president. Some media reports are he arrives at the Oval Office in the early afternoon; while spending an inordinate amount of time golfing. During his first 100 days the US Presidency. the reality of Trump's work ethic shone as bright as the noon sun on the 9th Tee.

Lies, lies and more lies.

The New York Time, almost one-year ago, published a piece regarding Trump's lying which will take its place in US history alongside the fabled George Washington's Cherry Tree.

NYT, here.

No one who writes for The Progressive Influence is a scientist of the mind, but we have the wherewithal to seek information regarding anyone who seems to offer a lie as his/her first thought. And, offer the lies with regard for video or written fats which refute the more nascent lie.

Let's leave it with what follows.

Pseudologia fantastica
(Abstract from  https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3279719)
Pseudologia fantastica is typified by these characteristics: (1) the stories are not entirely improbable and are often built upon a matrix of truth; (2) the stories are enduring; (3) the stories are not told for personal profit per se and have a self-aggrandizing quality; (4) they are distinct from delusions in that the person when confronted with facts can acknowledge these falsehoods. The authors compile phenomenological data about "the pseudolouge", who is represented equally males and females. Intelligence varies, but at least 40% have evidence of central nervous system dysfunction.

The Alley Dog dot com

Pseudologia Fantastica (Mythomania)

Pseudologia fantastica, also known as pathological lying or "mythomania," is the phenomenon of habitual or compulsive lying (either verbally or in writing) which was first described in medical literature in 1891 by Anton Delbruck. It is a controversial diagnosis because the subject often doesn't stand to gain anything from lying. The paradoxical thing about compulsive lying is that the subject may or may not know that they are lying although it is possible sometimes that a person may be lying to make their own life appear to be more exciting than it really is.

US Deficit Increased By 17% Over 2017

Image result for republican fiscal conservatives

Yesterday we posted a short piece about the White House and the CBO's recent revelations of a 17% increase in the US deficit. That is a 17% increase over last year's Deficit increase. the nation went from $666 billion deficit in 2017 to a $770 billion deficit in FY 2018.

Here is what perspective looks like. From Obama to Trump and a hefty tax cut for the nations wealthy.

Related image

Of course, you recall the many on-camera appearances of Paul Ryan, Trump and McConnell as well as other GOP politicos speaking about how the wealthy American tax cut would not increase the Deficit. Did you actually believe them?

Since you are reading this post vs speaking with a person, it is OK, to honestly consider your faith in (pre-tax cut) GOP rhetoric as the party works to legislate for its constituency (not me and you).

Well, Democrat Chuck Schumer's Twitter page addresses the rhetoric of which you may have bought into.
Is there any veracity at the inner core of the GOP?

The question is rhetorical.

And, the ultimate Trump/Ryan/McConnell victims?  The poor according to Forbes.

As Trump's World Turns: Central Park Five, Mocks Dr. Ford; A Reminder To Vote

Image result for trump circus clown

A Day In The Life

Yesterday Trump spent an unusually long time on the White House lawn yielded questions for reporters, and lying. While we have grown to expect lies form Trump, we continue to respond in awe and shock when his words literally contradict the manner in which he lived his past. Remember the Central Park Five; linked, here and here?
Didn't Trump publicly state the FBI could "go anyplace they wished" in their one-week investigation into accusations against his SCOTUS nominee. I wonder what is the number assigned tot hat lie We long ago passed 5,000 lies in 18 months in the Oval Office. Have we reached 6,000 lies yet?
It seems Trump lied about an open investigation of matters related to Kavanaugh There is nothing new there, but consider what comes next.

A US President travels to the pits of social America (the State of Mississippi) and openly mocks Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, Kavanaugh's accuser. One the day of Fords Senate Hearing testimony Trump indicated his thought so Ford as a credible person.

Watch your President as he reminds of another inhumane act from the 2016 campaign:

Again Trump reminds rational Americans of the horrors of staying home on election day, and he reminds of a flawed electoral system which ended with Trump taking the Oval Office despite the reality of finishing the election 2.8 million votes behind his opponent.

It is critical to notice the extent to which irrational Americans find Trump entertaining.  Watch as the crowd roars with approval.

A President of the United States of America!

If you have a need to read a few words about Trump's Mississippi oozfest, I have linked a New York Magazine piece, here

US Conservatism's Love of Dictators From A Trump. Kim Jong Un, and Russia Perspective (Video)

Image result for trump, kim and putin
It is one of those days when sitting and developing a piece for the page, just isn't going to take place.

Enjoy the social media reports and whatever you do, visit the MSNBC links towards the bottom of the age  The On Assignment segments with Richard Engel are award-winning journalism in my opinion.

First, let's visit with a couple of social media posts.
While I am enjoying a non-writing day, I cannot help but post a few additional items I viewed last night on MSNBC. If you viewed the segments from the On Assignment show you have no need to proceed.

The first segment relates to a nascent phenomenon of US conservatives literally loving the Russian society. Despite being one of the most repressive nations across the globe, US conservatives have latched onto Putin; Russia as surely as they continue to moniker Ronald Reagan as one of the nation's great presidents. Ronald Reagan was a facade of how US conservatives wish their world to exist. While the following segment doesn't touch upon Reagan's contributions to a rebirth of US racism (post the 1960s and ear 1970s.

From his overt affinity for Bob Jones University (with all known racist policies) through his part in advancing the GOP's successful Southern Strategy, and his outright disgusting handling of early AIDS cases, Reagan was the epitome of US social regression.  And, the GOP still to this day loves his being and legacy.

Alas, the following segment doesn't visit Reagan's social regression beyond touching on Russia's anti-LGBT policies. As you view what follows, think about the dangerous abyss to which Trump has us all standing on the precipice and leaning over the edge.

Shameful isn't it?

How about some dessert?

As Trump's World Turns: “Lugenpresse” (Fake News, Lying Media)

“Lugenpresse,” a word which translates roughly to “lying press.”

As Donald Trump shows increasing signs of a longing to subjugate the nation to the fiefdom which he would undoubtedly rename Trumpland or The Republic of Trumpistan, it is important to ask a question. How long will the more than three-quarters of the nation which doesn't support Trump speak out?

Let's take a look at the fiefdom.

Imagine what follows as part of a national flag and emblem for The Republic of Trumpistan.

Related image to replace this...Image result for trump family crest

We shouldn't ignore the signs.

The signs include a strategy which is so obvious it isn't humorous outside of the hordes of supporters and GOP Trump fearing politicians. Strategy? Turn the media, or focus the American psyche to far-right propaganda outlets, and the capitulation of a nation is made simple.

Encyclopedia Holocaust
THE PRESS IN THE THIRD REICH
ESTABLISHING CONTROL OF THE PRESS
When Adolf Hitler took power in 1933, the Nazis controlled less than three percent of Germany’s 4,700 papers. The elimination of the German multi-party political system not only brought about the demise of hundreds of newspapers produced by outlawed political parties; it also allowed the state to seize the printing plants and equipment of the Communist and Social Democratic Parties, which were often turned over directly to the Nazi Party. In the following months, the Nazis established control or exerted influence over independent press organs.
During the first weeks of 1933, the Nazi regime deployed the radio, press, and newsreels to stoke fears of a pending “Communist uprising,” then channeled popular anxieties into political measures that eradicated civil liberties and democracy. SA (storm troopers) and members of the Nazi elite paramilitary formation, the SS, took to the streets to brutalize or arrest political opponents and incarcerate them in hastily established detention centers and concentration camps. Nazi thugs broke into opposing political party offices, destroying printing presses and newspapers.
Sometimes using holding companies to disguise new ownership, executives of the Nazi Party-owned publishing house, Franz Eher, established a huge empire that drove out competition and purchased newspapers at below-market prices. Some independent newspapers, particularly conservative newspapers and non-political illustrated weeklies, accommodated to the regime through self-censorship or initiative in dealing with approved topics.

Trump's anti-media strategy is, yes, obvious.

MIC dot com

It’s no secret by now that Trump loves to dismiss stories critical of his demeanor or administration as “fake news” — but what you may not have known is that the “fake news” attack echoes one of Hitler’s favorite insults: “lugenpresse,” a word which translates roughly to “lying press.”
“Lugenpresse”

As Trump's World Turns: Civility, Caging Kids, Trump Tax Cuts And Spending

“If you try to scale the fence they’d be even too happy to have you arrested and separated from your children.” Jeff Sessions, US Attorney General. He jokes about the repressive and draconian US Policy in seven decades.
To the level of a joke with applause? And he jokes with this as a backdrop.

And with this as a matter of US Law:
18 U.S. Code § 1204 - International parental kidnapping http://bit.ly/2N0OrWU "Whoever removes a child..who has been in the United States..with intent to obstruct the lawful exercise of parental rights shall be fined under this title or imprisoned" #GOPChildAbuse
In Detail:

18 U.S. Code § 1204 - International parental kidnapping

(a) Whoever removes a child from the United States, or attempts to do so, or retains a child (who has been in the United States) outside the United States with intent to obstruct the lawful exercise of parental rights shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 3 years, or both.
(b) As used in this section—
(1)
the term “child” means a person who has not attained the age of 16 years; and
(2)the term “parental rights”, with respect to a child, means the right to physical custody of the child—
(A)
whether joint or sole (and includes visiting rights); and
(B)
whether arising by operation of law, court order, or legally binding agreement of the parties.
(c) It shall be an affirmative defense under this section that—
(1)
the defendant acted within the provisions of a valid court order granting the defendant legal custody or visitation rights and that order was obtained pursuant to the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act or the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction and Enforcement Act and was in effect at the time of the offense;
(2)
the defendant was fleeing an incidence or pattern of domestic violence; or
(3)
the defendant had physical custody of the child pursuant to a court order granting legal custody or visitation rights and failed to return the child as a result of circumstances beyond the defendant’s control, and the defendant notified or made reasonable attempts to notify the other parent or lawful custodian of the child of such circumstances within 24 hours after the visitation period had expired and returned the child as soon as possible.
(d) This section does not detract from The Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Parental Child Abduction, done at The Hague on October 25, 1980.
(Added Pub. L. 103–173, § 2(a), Dec. 2, 1993107 Stat. 1998; amended Pub. L. 108–21, title I, § 107, Apr. 30, 2003117 Stat. 655.)
Trump, Miller and Session's policy is illegal.  And, Sessions jokes!

From Trumpian Draconian immigration policy to a reality which affects each of us and could lead to another US recession. Trump Debt and Deficits.

MSNBC's The Last Word

The Trump/Ryan Tax Cut could prove as dangerous to the US as any terrorist threat from overseas. While we are being horrendously entertained by Tropism lie some cheap reality TV show, real dangerous is at the core of Trumpism. The well-staffed and judicial activism of the SCOTUS is returning the US to a time of comfortable social regressivism for conservatives, Trump is tickling the innards of regressive Americans and the Congress is hiding like a Tortoise in a hail storm.

The following projection is more than troublesome.

Image result for US Deficits and debt under trump

The Balance published a great piece regarding the US Debt with attention to past US Presidents.

Here is a graphic from the piece. Yes, it points to former President Obama as a leader whose Administration positively addressed US Debt.

The piece clearly delineates Obama's impact on US Debt while commenting on what is to come for Trump (as projections).
Donald Trump: As projected in the FY 2019 budget, Trump plans to add $8.282 trillion, a 41 percent increase from the $20.245 trillion debt at the end of Obama's last budget for FY 2017. If he spends as he hopes, Trump will add the second-highest dollar amount in history. More importantly, he will add almost as much in his first term as Obama did in two terms.
  • FY 2021 - $1.119 trillion.
  • FY 2020 - $1,198 trillion.
The tendency to equate Obama's Debt experience with Trump's Tax cut related projections and unbelievable spending based on regressive policies (imprisoning Immigrant kids) is a false equivalence comparison, to put it mildly. It I used the non-mild vernacular, I would characterize the comparisons as utterly ridiculous while verging on ignorant. Let's stick with the mild version.  Since Trump and his cabal are pushing civility from the Left (only).

Is calling Senator Elizabeth Warren Pocahontas civil?
Is calling all brown skinned refugee immigrants "rapists", "criminals, "murderers", civil?

Oh, I digress.

Obama spending as enacted in response to the US Bush Great Recession. It was enacted to stop the bleeding towards another Great Depression and it worked.

Take a look at how President Obama accomplished a critical economic mission via his Stimulus and other anti-recession (remedying) spending. Linked here.

Trump's failing economic policies are not getting attention. Media is chasing Trump's daily reality show episodes while the GOP incompetently leads the nation into treacherous realms. Actually, I should modify my use of the word "incompetent" to fulfilling the wishes of GOP corporate constituents.  Well,  the GOP has to pay its Piper (moneyed constituents and socially regressive bigots).
