Ford Cutting Jobs, Trump's March Brandishing Uncredible

Big announcement by Ford today. Major investment to be made in three Michigan plants. Car companies coming back to U.S. JOBS! JOBS! JOBS!

Well, it seems Trump's trumpeting about his impact on the US economy via Jobs jobs, jobs" at Ford is no different than other Trump carnival barking.  It was good for the moment, but when faced with the reality of time Ford is no different than other US corporations.

The automaker, is not doing well in its market niches and what goes first to maintain the P & L statements? Cost are trimmed. And, what cost employers most? Employees. When stock prices lag, people have to go!

Take a look at how WRAL addressed ford's announcement.
The 114-year-old automaker said Wednesday it is cutting 1,400 non-factory jobs in North America and Asia Pacific. The company will offer voluntary early retirement and separation packages to around 10 percent of its salaried workers in departments such as sales, marketing and human resources. It expects the actions to be complete by the end of September.
The cuts are the biggest to Ford's U.S. white collar staff since 2007, when 7,200 workers took voluntary buyout packages.
In an email to employees, Ford said it wants to strengthen its core business and invest aggressively in new opportunities. "Reducing costs and becoming as lean and efficient as possible also remain part of that work," the company wrote.
Trump's March 28th bluster was that an nothing more. Yet, in conservative tiems, the timing was effective enough for that "for the moment" pop conservatives so love. They are incapable of looking to the future.

Of course, any media which reports on Ford's decision and Trump's past lauding of Ford's (Jobs, jobs, jbobs) fall into that category of media which "always picks on Trump."

Reince Priebus: The Perfect Functionary and Political Tightroper

Reince Priebus
Reinhold Reince Priebus is the Chairman of the Republican National Committee. Wikipedia

Priebus, Heilmann, Ford join Mika on the Morning Joe.

If you want to see the perfect example of a sniveling functionary and RNC operative, meet the current RNC Chair.

Would you like to see an underlying reason Preibus comes across as obtuse and only 'half-alive'.  He has marching orders and probably he has the most precarious position in US politics.
Here are his marching orders.
Dear Speaker Boehner and Leader Cantor:
For the first time, the activities of the Obama administration are receiving a sustained public vetting.  Americans’ outrage over Benghazi is amplified by the Internal Revenue Service’s intimidation of conservative grassroots organizations and a cascade of negative headlines.  There is the real sense the Obama administration has been less than forthright with the American people, the press and lawmakers.
Recent events have rightly focused the nation’s attention squarely on the actions of the Obama administration. It is incumbent upon the House of Representatives to conduct oversight hearings on those actions, but it would be imprudent to do anything that shifts the focus from the Obama administration to the ideological differences within the House Republican Conference.
To that end, we urge you to avoid bringing any legislation to the House Floor that could expose or highlight major schisms within the conference. Legislation such as the Internet sales tax or the FARRM Act which contains nearly $800 billion in food stamp spending, would give the press a reason to shift their attention away from the failures of the Obama administration to write another “circular firing squad” article.
Make no mistake, principled conservatives will still oppose bad policy if it comes to the floor.  Rather than scheduling such legislation for consideration, we urge you to keep the attention focused squarely on the Obama administration. As the public’s trust in their government continues to erode, it is incumbent upon those of us who support a smaller, less intrusive government to lead.

If you feel the addresses on the letter is the extent to which the ultra conservative Heritage foundation spreads its orders, you are naive.

FORD Figo (India) Exposed

Ford Figo

How could a corporation regardless of country of origin show a level of misogyny callous and frightful enough to have contributed posting the following Tweets?

Are you kidding? This in India after the Delhi Gang rape and recent gang rape of a Swiss Tourist? Sure Ford...

DELETED; DELETED These Ford India ads are simply awful. What was the ad agency thinking?!
What sick minds behind this   campaign showing bound & gagged women:
Misogyny alert :) ELETED: New Ford Figo ad heightens India-Italy diplomatic tension. |
Ford (Motors)-India fell victim to its own obvious lack of diversity (In key positions) and its truly callous attention to its environment (strategically [internalLinks] and socially [external]).  Before we visit a couple of articles about the FIASCO, take a quick look at one of the offensive depictions.

There are two other advertisement images. Another of female bondage with a different face in the front seat of the vehicle. Another with bound race car drivers (the drivers look striking NASCAR, but that is not verified in print articles).

First, I must state that Ford-India has issue an apology for the ad mock-up. The advertisement were not published in print media.  Reports are the mock-ups were leaked online.  And there-in lies part of the problem.  How could an ad agency and any advertisement or marketing manager internal to a corporation have allowed the mock-ups to come to the level of finished?  The next step would have been approval (or non-approval) to run the campaign with budgets and associated market decisions.

Somewhere in the process someone in Ford-India failed miserably.  While it is a possibly a cultural stretch, I must add had there been  women involved in the process the campaign may not have materialize as mock-ups. Of course, there may have been women professionals at each level of the process. In any case, someone internal to Ford-India or the ad agency saw the inappropriate images and leaked them online.

Actually, Ford may be lucky the mock-ups were leaked. An alternative that involves print exposure in the Figo target markets would have been disastrous.

Apparently sensibilities in India, at least in the case of some Ford marketing partners, are downright lascivious at times. Case in point are a new series of print ads, presumably touting the vast cargo capacity of the Ford Figo hatchback, that involve more than a whiff of T&A, S&M and other sexy abbreviations.
In all seriousness, the advertising campaign is taking some major heat in the Indian press for being outrageously sexist. All three images – which seem to be produced by a graphic artist with some Heavy Metal work in his/her portfolio – show bound and gagged people stuffed into the Figo's boot. With a tagline reads, "Leave Your Worries Behind." one version features a peace-sign throwing Silvio Berlusconi holding hostage three buxom and barely clad women, all wearing ball gags with hands and feet bound. Charming. Another version shows Paris Hilton similarly kidnapping a trio of Kardashians, while a third (tame in terms of the clothing at least), has Michael Schumacher toting Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Lewis Hamilton.
Abuse, rape and a seeming general disregard of the matters related to women is a world-wide problem.  India has experienced at least three major cases of 'gang-rape' that has led to death in two cases (At least one was self-inflicted).  How is it anyone in the creative departmental of an ad agency or anyone in professional capacity in Ford-India callously allow such work to even make it to a mock-up?

And while outside of the United States are we not having investigation and hearings of rapes and abuse of women throughout our military.

Wasn't this set of words levied at a women when responding to a racist tirade from a "white supremacist" at the recent CPAC Event.
At one point, when challenged on the heritage of the GOP by a female onlooker, Terry responded, "I didn't know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public."
If people do not stand-up for what is right, that which is wrong proliferates.

Someone saw the Ford FIGO imagesrecognized the wrong and stifled the misguided and insensitive campaign.
