Fox News Talking Head Busted For False Claims Of Former CIA Service

I doubt there is an adult in the United States of sound mind who is not aware of Fox News. Of those who know of Fox News, we find large swaths who sit daily for doses from the network which I often refer to as FOXPEN (Fox Propaganda and Entertainment Network). The Fox viewers make-up a dedicated audience who will go to battle in defense of a network that has been assessed to only speak the truth 18% of the time. Forward Progressive,  Politifact.

A more recent review of cable and network accuracy from Tampa Bay Times and
At Fox and Fox News, 10 percent of the claims we’ve rated have been True, 11 percent Mostly True, 18 percent Half True, 21 percent Mostly False, 31 percent False and nine percent Pants on Fire.
That means about 60 percent of the claims we’ve checked have been rated Mostly False or worse. Here’s how it breaks down (as of Jan. 27, 2015):
Despite numbers indicating more accuracy, the January review yielded 75% of statements were well shy of any degree of accuracy. It is also important to keep in mind Pundifact and Politifact reviews do not include statements from politicians and paid spokespeople. It isn't a leap to imagine the Fox data would skewer well above 90% of the time if politicians and paid talking heads were part of the analysis.

Why would I make such assertion? Let's take one recent example. The answer, the case of Wayne Simmons, Fox News (self-described) "terrorism analyst".

Wayne Simmons

Simmons was arrested yesterday, by the FBI for impersonating what he claimed included past service as a CIA operative. Check out a 2007 video which Simmons battled with a Fox News host (Greg Kelly). As you view the video, keep in mind the guy was a fraud.

Here's  2009 example of the FOXPEN fraud.

One has to wonder if Fox News managers and programmers fell victim to Simmon's website. The site is bursting at the seams with misinformation, lies and a trail of his Fox News impersonations.

CNN's Brian Steltar spoke about the Simmons/Fox debacle (or more aptly the Fox News SNAFU) on the network's News Room segment.
Of course, Fox New issued a statement that Simmons was never paid.

Two quick points about Fox News.

Bill O'Reilly on "journalism standards." My choice of the following post is relevant despite the fact FOXPEN's major mission is far beyond the scope of news and informing the public.

Think Progress offers seven Most Outlandish claims from SImmons.

Why is Fox News so pathetic. well, I stand self-corrected, the network gives it's viewers waht they want vs real news.
