Huckabee Proves The Fallacy of Far-Right Dogma

Callous, shallow, wrong and self-serving.

While a real leaders weeps with empathy, concern, and love of people and country.

We are seeing a multitude of responses to the Connecticut Mass shooting.  From calls for more gun control  to clear warnings of pending increased gun control, increasing volumes of information about the killer, a sad and weeping president and yes, whack-job comments from far Right conservatives who claim a special sort of deliverer of deity. 

If you take a moment to give the video below a look and listen, I think you will see the sickening rambles of a man who is actually dangerous to society. Huckabee joins Neil Cavuto and lays bare the callousness of Right-Wing dogma and religious fanaticism. Life exists beyond his all things are God ramblings. It is important to understand Huckabee speaks from the perspective of a stable mind albeit it very much over consumed with "all things are God".  He does not even take into account the sick, deviate mind.  He ignores the deranged who would kill first grade kids.  He does not even grasp the insanity of killing one's own mother. 

And,  he ignores a question that is based in reasoning that God should have overcome the evil that entered that school.




I posit no level of God in a school or even attendance in church each and every Sunday throughout his life would have stopped the deranged mind of the Connecticut killer.  

Huckabee has actually been a candidate for the GOP presidential ticket. How dangerous would it be to have someone whose cognitive process function as Huckabee spoke in the video?

One has to wonder why Huckabee could not have extrapolated his opine to the killer's gun enthusiast mother.  A mother who purchased 'human killing' weapons (even if for defensive), a mother who took her son to gun ranges, and a mother who was killed by the very young monster she, in part, created.  Yet, Huckabee attempts to advance a weak political agenda common to the vast majority of conservatives. 

His short diatribe with Cavuto is shameful in its intent, ignorant in his premise revealing. He never once expressed any sorrow, or concern about the victims.

Republicans and Paul Ryan Reach For The Wind! And have nothing to grab but another lie.

        

Well, Paul Ryan, Exactly what "founding documents" are you referencing?

The Slate Dot Com is reporting on Paul Ryan (of all people) complaining about the absence of the word God in the DNC Convention Platform.

Paul Ryan wants the Obama administration to explain why the Democratic platform doesn't include the word "God" in it.

"I think it’s rather peculiar," the GOP vice presidential hopeful said during a Fox News appearance on Wednesday morning (via Politico). "It’s not in keeping with our founding documents, our founding vision. I’d guess you’d have to ask the Obama administration why they purged all this language from their platform. There sure is a lot of mention of government. I guess I would just put the onus and the burden on them to explain why they did all this, these purges of God."

Here is the Fox News version. I will add Fox News airs a version with Gretchen Carlson sitting on camera with enough leg and thigh showing to make some porn queens jealous.



Now, check it out.....The DNC Platform may very well not include the word "God". I personally do not feel it should include the word "God". While Fox News drags-out the most dishonest potential Vice Presidential candidate since Spiro T. Agnew, it is worth noting specific verbiage from the DNC Platform.

DNC Platform RNC Platform Slate also reports the GOP has the word God in their Platform twelve (12) times. One has to wonder if the over-the-top number of entries (specifically the word GOD) is not mere window-dressing for their base constituency. The GOP references God twelve times, but it has shown need for a healthy doses of 'Bible Study" and church attendance.   * "Kiss my A_ _. Campaign adviser while visiting a Polish War Dead Cemetery.   * Go _uck yourself". Republican Member of Congress (or GOP State Rep) * Campaign Lies (Not embellishment or hyperbole, bold-faced lies). Every media outlet has spoken or written about GOP convention lies. Even Fox News writers and pundits have spoken a bout the extent of Paul Ryan's outright and blatant lies.   * Jingoist anti-Iran and Russia jingoist language from Mitt Romney towards the end of his acceptance speech.  Do these acts denote a party of "godliness?"  Does the mere mention of "GOD" in the GOP Platform (12 times) denote a party truly devoted to 'godliness' or could the 12 entries be strategic 'dog-whistles and opportunity for campaign rhetoric. Let's face it Ryan mentioned the 'dog-whistle' within hours of the end of the first day of the DNC Convention. As to Ryan's specific claim.

It has often been seen on the Internet that to find God in the Constitution, all one has to do is read it, and see how often the Framers used the words "God," or "Creator," "Jesus," or "Lord." Except for one notable instance, however, none of these words ever appears in the Constitution, neither the original nor in any of the Amendments. The notable exception is found in the Signatory section, where the date is written thusly: "Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven". Paul Ryan's specific statement from above and via Fox News.

After a few minutes of searching around, I located no reference to "GOD" in any of the more notable founding documents.  Does Paul Ryan have access to information hidden from the prying eyes of the Internet?  While I am not a fully competent fact-checker, it is easy to perform a basic search for the context of Ryan's statement.  Apparently, there is no veracity to his statement, and as usual he has no real premise from which he speaks. 
(Disclaimer: If any readers locates a reference to "God' in any "founding documents" . I would appreciate a comment to that effect with a reference point, I will gladly retract this screed after posting my error for a few days. We are not about 'gotcha's at The Progressive Influence (TPI), we are about honesty, veracity, and what is best for America from a progressive perspective.

The Global Grind and Current TV: Did Sean Hannity Offer to Pay for George Zimmerman's Defense?

We know  within days of George Zimmerman's killing of young Trayvon Martin, he spoke with Sean Hannity of Fox News. It was reported that Zimmerman called Hannity.  One has to wonder why after killing the young black teenager, Zimmerman would reach out  to Hannity.  He did not reach out to any personality (radio or TV) on CNN, MSNBC, ABC, CBS, the EIB Network, nor other noted media outlets and celebrities; he reached-out to Hannity. Zimmerman's actions and Hannity's taking his call are outside the scope of fathomable. Hannity is supposedly somewhat involved in news. Criminals have been known to reach out to the media regarding their crimes. 

Hannity within hours of the call is also reported to have launched a campaign supportive of Zimmerman's claims of innocence in  matters of race related, matters of stalking and matters of being in a position to "defuse the interaction". Hannity took up the Zimmerman flag and starting traipsing around like a Zimmerman "white knight" with shining armor (The reference to color is not an intended pun). I made the last statement, but Zimmerman did not call Al Sharpton,(MSNBC), Don Lemon,(CNN) not Pulitzer Prize winning Journalist for the Washington Post Eugene Robinson; all African-American professional journalist.  So, despite the unintentional 'knight' pun, facts are facts; he called Hannity for a reason. 

For brevity sake and to save time, I will not show evidence of Hannity's immediate support for Zimmerman based solely on assurances from Zimmerman related to the crime. Those items are search able via YouTube and their video library.

Of particular interest, and of late, there is the prospect or suspicion or allegation (your choice) that Hannity may have offered to pay the bill for Zimmerman's defense.  I used the past tense because the following video from Current TV uses the past tense.  Who knows, if the premise of the video is true, Hannity may be active in Zimmerman's defense.

SHOCKING REVELATION! Fox News Host Sean Hannity Offered To Pay George Zimmerman's Legal Fees!


Yesterday, the Special Prosecutor in the George Zimmerman case released 149 jail house phone calls that Mr. Zimmerman made while being held on bail in April of this year in Seminole County Jail. Last night, GlobalGrind scoured through all of them, trying to decipher the coded language that George uses in his conversations with his family and close friends. 
In call #30, from April 14th (3 days after being arrested), George is speaking to one his closest friends and confidantes, "Scott." As reported by many of our colleagues in the press, including the Miami Herald this morning, George mentions to Scott that his attorney Mark O'Mara is aware of an attempted transfer of $37,000 from his PayPal account to Zimmerman's wife's personal account.  This would be big enough news in the case, as Mr. Zimmerman was sent back to jail after being released on his first bond for not disclosing the amount of money he had raised for his legal defense fund.  Furthermore, Mr. O'Mara admitted in court that he did not know anything about the attempted transfers, but with this new evidence being made public, it seems that the attorney was in the know. 
The article continues with transcription of a phone call between Zimmerman and his wife.  As was the previously the case, Zimmerman and his wife seem awful adept at use of 'criminal' like use of code in phone conversations.  He and he wife were forced to use code as jail-house phones are monitored. I wonder how many innocent people have bothered to use such code whens peaking to people on the outside.  

If you read the article it is impossible to avoid imagery of a hardened criminal lying to his outside cohorts who are conspiring to get him released regardless of guilt or innocence.  The truly "Wow" item is Zimmerman is using code to speak about a person who earns millions as a Right-wing demagogue.  

A brief digression.

It is also being reported the Zimmerman called the Rev. Terry Jones, burn the Quran, hang Obama, and Bury Obama, while in his early days of incarceration. Apparently, the savvy Zimmerman did not want the unsavory publicity seeking Jones to protest on his be half.  Alas, a noble purpose for there call but still deviate in intent.

The salient point of all the reports is, why is Zimmerman busily interacting with people who have documented affiliation with Right-wing America.  What is it about Zimmerman that 'opens doors' the Hannity's and The Terry Jones's in America?  Could it be that Zimmerman killed a black person?

Before you go there with negative thoughts about the last question, think bout this.  Would Sean Hannity talk a call from you or me? Would Terry Jones seek publicity via his protests if you or I was in trouble with the law.  If Zimmerman was black, would either 'nutcase' spend a moment on the case.

For sake of credibility, and to my knowledge, investigators have not confirmed the Hannity offer as spoken by the jailed Zimmerman to his equally shifty wife.  However, is it not intriguing that a Roger Ailes employee is even being mentioned in the same breath as George Zimmerman.  Let's face it there is a 50/50 chance Zimmerman could be found guilty of second degree murder. How does that bode for Fox News if Hannity's reputation is tarnished via having snuggled-up to the killer of Trayvon Martin?

Fox News may turn out to be the biggest Super PAC of them all.
recent report from Politico indicates that outside groups plan to spend $1 billion in attack ads against President Obama and the Democratic Party this year. That figure could be considerably higher if you factor in the free airtime and resources Fox News is donating to the cause. As Fox host Eric Bolling said, "We're all on board if Mitt's it."
The four minute long anti-Obama attack ad presented on Fox & Friends this morning not only crossed the ethical line but it may violate News Corp.'s own internal policy for ethical behavior. 
The policy states:
Contributing Company Assets: We do not donate any corporate money, services, products or facilities to any political party, candidate or political committee unless previously approved by News Corporation's Executive Vice President for Government Affairs, at the Government Relations Office in Washington D.C. Always keep in mind that "contribution" is defined broadly, and does not necessarily mean money. It may, under some circumstances, even include the use of Company email to solicit donations or support.

The real war on Christmas

Fox News has taken up their yearly charge of reminding us about the dreaded War on Christmas. We all know the details, so there really is no need to induce your gag reflex by rehashing them. Rather, I am here to tell you that it is 2011, a stones throw away from 2012, and the War on Christmas has already been fought...and lost. To me, the saddest part is that Bill O'Reilly and the rest of the Fox Gang do not even realize it. Was the war lost to us evil, heathen, godless, libs? Nope. Not even close. It was lost to the corporatists. And it was lost many decades ago.


The harsh reality is that we live in a country where Christmas is more about a fat white guy and his flying reindeer than it is about the birth of Jesus Christ. Even more than that, Christmas in this day and age is more about buying stuff than it is the worship and remembrance of a savior. If anything, these two items prove beyond any doubt that the war has been lost. Worse still, few ever knew it was being waged. Every time you see a Lexus commercial with Santa at the wheel. Every flyer in the mail that is full of Santa, reindeer, elf, and north pole references. Every time you see that jolly fat guy shopping at Kay Jewelers for the perfect ring for his misses. Every time there is another special Christmas sale going on. Every time you see the bearded guy looking for tools during a Sears commercial. Each and every time it just goes to further push Christmas away from its origins and towards the goal of the corporatists - getting you to spend as much of your money as is possible. Do Conservatives and the Fox News talking heads ever rail against these things? Not on your life. I'm sure they would balk at the very mentioning of it! Afterall, they know who butters their bread.

My son was one of the most competitive athletes I have ever met, which sometimes made him a difficult to play with. After watching him drill a team-mate during a heated match, I gave him some tough love of my own. “As captain, your role is NOT to say what you feel at the moment it arises,” I told him. “Your job is to say what That’s the way I feel about the latest study on the inadequacy of Fox News viewers, conducted by Fairleigh Dickinson University, along with the deluge of bloggers who delighted in echoing the results ad nauseam. I’m sure the Fox-Hunters temporarily feel justified and superior, but I want to ask each and every one, “How’s that working out for ya’?”
