Stephen Colbert Comments On The GOP Debate And A Visit To Fact-Checkers Heaven

The Republican National Committee (RNC) lauded the recent Fox New Business GOP Debate. How careless are we to allow Fox News and the GOP/RNC to shape the perception of their candidates to the point of disseminating pure propaganda?

"And that CNBC is how you run a debate," RNC chairman Reince Priebus tweeted minutes after the debate ended.

He expanded on that in a press release that lauded the Fox moderators for sticking to business-themed questions and not stepping into the spotlight themselves.

"Debates need to focus on the issues, and that goal was accomplished tonight. Our candidates, not the moderators, were at the center of tonight’s debate, and they were all treated with fairness and respect," he said.

"Thanks to a well-run debate, the country was able to see our diverse field of talented and exceptionally qualified candidates exchange ideas for how to reinvigorate the economy and put Americans back to work."
Why do so many Americans allow the GOP to consistent yank their brains and psyches?  The RNC response to the debate was expected; it was their forum. Yet, those who dig deep can find nothing b but "False", "Half-True", and "Pants on Fire" ratings.

Stephen Colbert's comments about the "Softball" debate are classic and point on.

The comedian host focused on candidate stumbles and highlights Trump's use of a despicable chapter in US History as his model for deporting 11 million undocumented immigrants. "Operation Wetback" was yet another example of why this nation can never lay claim to "exceptional."  We do they preach such sermons with no regard for how non-whites have been treated since Columbus stepped foot on North America.

CNN's Carol Costello and Brian Steltar also commented about the debate and its "slow- pitch" softball airing.
