Trump's Tax Plan (Trickle-down Trump)

If you are old enough to recall Ronald Reagan's insemination of Supply Side economics (trickle down) into the heart of GOP ideology, you shouldn't be at all surprised about what Trump is promulgating as his "tax plan." The tax plan is a mere rehash of past GOP economic policy which almost leads to a total economic collapse.

Two MSNBC news segments best state a case against a return to Trickle-down economics.

I offered two segments, but there is more. If you are an informant geek or a High Information Voter (HIV) MSNBCs Morning Joe Show included an extensive segment with great detail and relevant comment about Trump's "sly of hand" tax cuts.

Trump's tax cut will not only offer a significant tax benefit to the uber-wealthy it could launch the nation on another path to economic oblivion. Especially if we consider other GOP policy regarding "regulation."

Now, take a look at the same chart with specific direction to compare two out data points.

Compare these two figures
If you review a comparison chat of income growth from 1980 through the subprime Bubble burst of the Bush Era, the effects of trickle-down are stark and frankly, "in your face."
The superrich have grabbed the bulk of the past three decades' gains.
If the chart about isn't descriptive enough, check out the is graphic.

GOP Quick Hit: Facts Are Facts

....even when it hurts to post as such.

Embedded image permalink

Well, let's ease up a bit. You will not find any progressive who would proudly display vestiges of racism.

And, you are little different from the guy above if you traipse to the voting booths and cast a vote for US regression-ism.

If the racist characterization bothers you, know I could have posted similarly regarding inept TOP 1% GOP economic policy.

Iran Nuclear Agreement!

Breaking......CBS News. Iran Nuclear Agreement

Iran and world powers reach a deal on dismantling Iranians nuclear program. A program that previous GOP US administrations supported. If fact, during the Ford Administration, Cheney and Wolfowitz (Iraq War conspirators and perpetrators) encouraged US backing of Iran's nuclear programs. During the Reagan Administration the US and Iran partnered on deals that emblazoned Ronald Reagan's legacy unmatched in US history: Iran-Contra "Arms for Hostages."

GOP policy (and practice) as far back as the early 1970s set the stage for national and international "messes" President Obama has worked to move to a metaphorical shelf labelled "Resolved, Non-issue").

The following infographic was published last fall by Al Jazeera.

Infographic: Timeline expands on the history of U.S.-Iran relations in light of recent nuclear talks

Last November, the world found-out that President Obama had again fulfilled a campaign item. He would hold talks with Iran focused on disarming or eliminating Iran's Nuclear development, thus alleviating a major threat to the security of Israel and the region. Despite overwhelming public an and behind the scenes obstruction, a president moved forward as promised and may very well have provided validity on the too early (in his first term) decision to award the Nobel Peace Prize.

Last November, the well publicized deal did not come to fruition. It appears Secretary of State Kerry, Iran leaders and, yes, Obama have come to a point of "deal agreement." Apparently, the November deal included the following.

Iran and world powers reach agreement on nuclear deal start

January 12, 2013
“Beginning January 20th, Iran will for the first time start eliminating its stockpile of higher levels of enriched uranium and dismantling some of the infrastructure that makes such enrichment possible,” President Obama said in a statement. “Iran has agreed to limit its enrichment capability by not installing or starting up additional centrifuges or using next-generation centrifuges. New and more frequent inspections of Iran’s nuclear sites will allow the world to verify that Iran is keeping its commitments. Taken together, these and other steps will advance our goal of preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon."
Iranian’s official state news agency also reported the news, quoting Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, but did not offer further details.
Under the November agreement, Iran agreed to limit its uranium enrichment to 5 percent - the grade commonly used to power reactors. The deal also commits Iran to stop producing 20 percent enriched uranium - which is only a technical step away from weapons-grade material - and to neutralize its 20 percent stockpile.
Despite all of the superficial distractions from the Right, and real self-induced distractions (i.e. ACA roll-out, NSA monitoring) a president moves the nation, and the world, forward with real leadership.

Leadership when we do not see it or hear it is much more valid and substantial than superficial noise many consider leadership.

Mississippi May Abandon 700,000 Medicaid Recipients!

The Small Image of the Day
Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant. Love that Confederate Flag Gov!

Seven hundred thousand (700,000) people in Mississippi could lose current benefits under Medicaid! Could this be to a political impasse? According to MSNBC Politics Nation's Morgan Whitaker, a political impasse is the basis for potentially throwing people to the wolves and ravages of ill health. We will add, n the state with the lowest per capita income (of 50 states) and one of the highest experiences of "no" medical coverage. I will wager the Mississippi State politicians are also throwing a good number of children to the wolves as part of the 700,000 figure.

MSNBCs Whitaker....
"Democrats and Republicans have been at odds over Medicaid expansion since the beginning of the year, with Democrats pushing for expansion that would give Medicaid coverage to an additional 300,000 people in the state who fall slightly above the poverty line. One recent compromise floated by Democrats would instead use the federal money to help individuals purchase their own plans on the state exchange — modeled after an Arkansas deal — but Governor Bryant promptly rejected the plan.
A recent survey of “deep south” states found 58% of Mississippians supported Medicaid expansion, as well as 85% of African-Americans from South Carolina to Louisiana."
Executive Summaries can be most boring , yet at the same time very relevant to issues for which the document was or is created. But, who enjoys reading them? No one I suspect. Let's instead take a look at a graphic associated with the Whitaker piece.

One could actually see the "OL" Confederacy brewing and festering under the oppressive ObamaCare (A double entendre for certain) edicts of the "OL" Union!

As you read the Politics Nation piece, it is easy to see the Democrats in Mississippi are not the catalyst of the potential disruption in services for 700,000 state residents. Some of the most ardent of Southern and Plains states have sided with their citizenry (highlighted in Red with Blue "Supports" or Green "Weighing Options."). ObamaCare offers unarguable "liberal' funding potential for the states. It is amazing how people will actually cut their own throats for sake of a social paradigm.

The message is clear and stated very well by a host on MSNBC within the past week. If President Obama was white, this level of GOP obstructionism would not stand the pressure from citizens in those states. While there are other factors which contribute to the insane obstruction from the GOP, one cannot dismiss the ease of the 'race' dog whistle (even when not audible) in shaping GOP policy and conservative state subservience.

The prospect of 700,000 poor people, aged people and children thrown into states of no medical coverage based in the Red State governor's state of obtuse and marching to a GOP drum is disgusting.
