Bob Cesca Screeds:The Reality Of Black Crime With Eric Garner's Spirit As Guardian

Trayvon Martin happy teen!
As Fox News continues to feed its viewers with superfluous and insensitive segments developed to entertain the far-right in America we should be thankful for social media. In the past, we could run over to CNN for alternative and quasi-unbiased news; no more. The prospect of CNN as a balance between Fox and MSNBC is as extinct Jurassic Era dinosaur. CNN has move to near "Fox" clone. Social media offers opportunity for more and varied news stories often crafted with interesting opine and comment from writers much more competent than cable news writers. Social media without question provides a wealth of information well beyond the scope of the narrowly focused time constrained reports from electronic media. Of course, one must carefully sort through any verbiage and stories from social media and recognize deep differences in progressive vs. conservative ideology. If reviewed with any degree of intelligence and a tendency to ask questions beyond the written word, we have opportunity to exist as (HIVs) high information voters and well informed Americans.

As you think of my comments above, think about what you are about to see and hear from Fox News.  Fox producers and writers dispatch Gretchen Carlson to their broadcast set to bemoan the prospect of a spoiled Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree lighting possibly dampened by the recent Eric Garner "murder by cops" New York Grand Jury ruling. I apologize in advance for an inability to capture key parts of the video clip, thus relieving you of the horrors of Gretchen Carlson fro more than a few seconds.

Post by Ring of Fire.

Now take a few minutes and read from the mind of a person with full grasp of logic, perception beyond his own paradigm, rational thought,  sensitivity and gifted cognitive processes. I would be remiss if I did not add the writer screeds to an audience of informed, open-minded progressives; quite the opposite of the Fox News viewer.
Eric Garner..HappyTimes

Bob Cesca's The Daily Banter.

Throughout the Banter piece, Cesca addresses facts related to how US law impacts the black community vs. perceptions held by some whites. Before reading an excerpt from the piece, peruse a few facts Cesca included for perspective.

The Reality of Black Crime and Why There’s No Justice for Eric Garner

–Right off the bat, younger inner city African-American men are far less capable of affording effective legal counsel and are therefore convicted more often than white suburban men.
–Around 13 percent of drug users are black, yet 46 percent of blacks are convicted on drug charges. Put another way, five times as many whites as blacks reportedly use and sell illegal drugs, yet blacks are incarcerated for drug offenses 10 times more often than whites for the same offenses. Why?
–Prison sentences for blacks are 10 percent longer than sentences for whites.

–Prosecutors seek mandatory minimums for black suspects 21 percent more often than whites.
–Blacks are 20 percent more likely to be convicted.
–The Justice Department reported that blacks and Hispanics are far more likely to be searched during traffic stops — three times more likely, while police officers are four times more likely to use force. Likewise, blacks are also three times more likely than whites to be arrested during traffic stops.
–A 2005 DOJ report based on 80,000 cases determined that even though whites represented 70 percent of the population, they’re only stopped nine percent of the time.
Could it be that the statistics showing astronomical urban street crime by African-Americans be significantly skewed by racial bias and profiling? Clearly.

Cesca's facts are preceded by thought-filled comment very much uncommon among the majority of white Americans. Expend a few minutes on excerpt from the piece, that reminds of the anti-racist lecturer and educator, Tim Wise

But instead of attempting to understand the full scope of what men like Eric Garner have had to endure, we too often hear closed-minded white people suggest that the number of black men profiled and killed by police during arrest scenarios is merely commensurate with the black male crime rate. And this is supposed to make profiling and excessive force okay.
It’s a cheap and superficial argument, insinuating that black men are somehow asking for it. Throughout the day yesterday, I heard from various people, especially Joe Scarborough supporters, who told me that Michael Brown and Eric Garner decided their own fates, both individually and societally, even though, in a fair and just world, neither of them deserved summary executions in the street.
Even though many in the Scarborough camp refuse to accept statistical reality (a sign of possible racial bias itself), let’s take a look at some of the massive disparities between the white and black experiences within the judicial system.

The following video clip illustrates Bob Cesca's point and exemplifies how some view the murder of Eric Garner. Watch the couple in the background as the remote reporter goes about her report.  Shamefully, the couple may very well embody the essence of sentiment from many white Americans and subservient affiliated black conservatives.

The real sadness of what we are seeing form many Americans and the authorities relates to life as it should not have to exist.

The Justice system has become a veritable mockery. As we move away from the cop murders currently occupying the news; findings related to those who kill are alarming. Police Departments seem to employ hiring practices that result in employing intolerant, under-educated and in some cases racially biased officers. In the case of the Cleveland cop who killed the 12 year old Tamir Rice, the rookie cop is reported (by his father) to have commented he wanted to leave the small police department (with a tarnished personnel file) for a department where he could "see some action." How does the system fail with such tragic consequences?

It is refreshing to read screeds like Cesca piece. He not only recognizes flaws in the US Justice System, he boldly presents facts and his thoughts on American justice in a plain-talk and skillful manner. Beyond Cesca's remarks, if we also fail to recognize the developing militarization of law enforcement coupled with obvious intolerance of people of color, we also fail to recognize the ease in flipping the switch to depriving you of justice as you know it now.

Michael Brown....Happy Times

Murderers Row: Two now have money to sustain life without working for a living (bounty?) and the other will surely ascend to a level of financial independence. After, the New York Grand Jury ruling, I have no doubt there is a move to develop a "defense" fund. The common thread: the killing of an African-American.

Fox News Guilfoyle Oozes Over Putin. Blame Fox News Management (Not Ailes's hired help and set decoration)

Can we get like Netanyahu, or like Putin in for 48 hours, you know, head of the United States?

Yes, you read the headline correctly. Now, consider the source. Think in terms of "candy"' not just "eye candy." Think far more pruriently than simple eye candy.  This is "eye-candy"....(Black, White, Latino Asian, Native American, Arabic).

The gallery that follows is purely prurient with a purpose.  After the gallery, find the name and face of the "Putin" worship.

Guilfoyle said, “Can I just make a special request in the magic lamp? Can we get like Netanyahu, or like Putin in for 48 hours, you know, head of the United States? I don’t know. I just want somebody to get in here and get it done right so that Americans don’t have to worry and wake up in the morning fearful of a group that’s murderous and horrific like ISIS.”

After accepting Gretchen Carlson publicly stated on Brian Kilmeade's radio show women were not allowed to wear pants on the Fox News sets, consider Roger Ailes admitted he hired Palin "because she is hot."

Putin as unfettered oligarch

Let's take a couple of perspectives on Putin. Celebrity Net Worth published a piece this past July that offers the reader a glimpse at Putin's past 10 years at the tip of Russian Leadership and a peep at his most humble background.

Last April, Putin revealed both his salary and estimated net worth. Unfortunately something just didn't add up. Putin's disclosure portrayed the controversial leader as a humble man of the people with very meager, practically non-existent, income and assets. This portrayal did not sit well with many experts of Russian government and politics. These experts agree that, without question, Putin has used his last decade of absolute power and wholehearted corruption to stash away a vast personal fortune estimated at more than $70 billion. A fortune that simply does not jibe with the humble, man-of-the-people, portrait Putin paints of himself.

Vladimir Putin – $70 Billion Fortune
So what evidence is there of Putin's secret obscene fortune? Let's start with the small stuff. Putin is known to sport a $150,000 Patek Philippe watch on most occasions and his total collection has been valued at $700,000. He also has full access to a $40 million ultra-luxury yacht that features a wine cellar, Jacuzzi, helipad and outdoor barbecue area. In terms of living accommodations, Putin has access to 20 mansions throughout the world including a lavish ski lodge and Medieval castle. The crown jewel of his property portfolio is a $1 billion palace overlooking the Black Sea that he allegedly owns through an anonymous trust. Furthermore, Putin makes frequent use of 15 Presidential helicopters and more than 40 private jets, many of which feature gold plated interiors.
If Vladimir Putin's net worth truly sits at $70 billion, that would be enough to make him the third richest person on the planet right behind Bill Gates and Carlos Slim Helu. It would likely also represent one of the largest personal fortunes ever accumulated by a sitting President. The only other world leader who possibly looted more cash from his country was Muammar Gaddafi, who after 40 years of power stashed away a reported $200 billion in ill-gotten oil money.
There's probably never going to be a way to fully scrutinize Putin's wealth, but at the very least it's safe to assume his official declarations are not the full picture. Do you believe that Putin is worth $70 billion?

Putin and Civil Unrest

RUSSIA: Vladimir Putin Says Gay Nazis Are Behind Civil Unrest In Ukraine

According to Matthew Schmidt, an American expert on the region, Vladimir Putin has taken to labeling anti-Russian protesters in Ukraine as “gay Nazis.”
The gay Nazis label was simultaneously an attempt to tie the new pro-Europe camp in Kiev to the hated German Third Reich while also taking advantage of the growing acceptance of gay marriage in the West, particularly in the United States. “Putin has said homosexuality is not our values, and that sense of tolerance of homosexuality is not part of Euroasia,” said Schmidt, who will be in Ukraine monitoring the May 25 elections that are being overseen by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE).

Putin as Dictator

Vladimir Putin 'sacks 18 top-ranking Russian officials'

Among those who lost their jobs were heads of the Ministry of the Interior and Federal Drug Control Service

Saturday 09 August 2014
Russian President Vladimir Putin has sacked 18 high-ranking officers from their posts, according to a Ukrainian news website.
In a purging move by the embattled world leader, heads of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Federal Drug Control Service and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation lost their jobs.
The dismissals, reported exclusively by Euromaidan Press, are said to have been carried out in secret.
While no official announcement appears to have been made by Mr Putin, reporters have posted links to the Kremlin’s official website – which can be translated into English – that show a list of staff “released” from their posts.
The move is understood to have been made on Wednesday, 6 August, but has not been reported in any of the mainstream media, either at home or abroad.
A number of high ranking military personnel are included among the 18 named.
We realize the Right has an affinity for Russia veritable dictator. An affinity that finds images as those posted below appealing with requisite machismo and with aura of the grand outdoors man. The images also remind of George W. Bush ranch purchase prior to his 2000 run for president and the immediate sell of the ranch upon leaving office.

Ultimately, the public and pronounced affinity for Russia's dictator is mere fodder for jingoist elements of American conservatism. Fox News managers and producers are not stupid people, yet they develop broadcast themes and messages that full embodies "The Stupid."  As with any product or service producer the operational model is "Give the customer what they want."

We offer the following gallery of "what they want." Rest assured the customers want the full measure of the person in each image.  It is an American tragedy that has only manifest with the election of Barack H., Obama as the 44th US President.

Love of Putin aside, let's close with our lede gallery of Fox News business and operational model we call blabbering "ass candy." Ass candy mixed with far-right propaganda and utter low intellect messaging.

Our posit is in now way an effort to demean women news hosts and reporters. Our reporting does not find similarly "leggy" host model on MSNBC, other non-cable news networks and only limited exposure on CNN. Our concern with "ass candy" news delivery is its accompanying messages. Messaging that is predominately false, misinformation and outright lies. Fox has actually moved to James O'Keefe and Andrew Breitbart like message editing.

Fox News producers work to feed viewers with subliminal messages and false bravado images of Putin without any regard for how he has amassed a $70 billion treasure chest and palaces across the globe in a 10 years period.

The problem far exceeds hired "legs and thighs" for delivery of commentary, the problem is the mindset of Fox News ownership and tot executives. People who foster the Fox News business model and people who so disregard common decency and journalistic professionalism while offering WWE like news and commentary. As with the WWE, Fox News broadcast personalities should be members of the screen actors guild vs an organization of journalistic accreditation or licensing.

Fox And Friends Revamps The "Center" Position! (VIDEO Exhibitions)

Certain Cable Networks like a professional football team work to field an effective "Center" for execution of its game plan or business model.

As I watched Elizabeth Hasselbeck accept a position at Fox News, I wondered about her show placement. It took about twenty minutes to figure she was destined for the "COUCH." It took yet another two minutes to come around to the reality that for Fox News Carlson was becoming a bit aged.

Carlson exhibited (word choice very intentional) much on the Fox News "Couch." Her exhibitions have been across the spectrum, and included exhibitions of complete idiotic lunacy which matched the idiocy of Kilmeade and Doocy. Although, I often debate with myself about my perception of cognitive processes of on-air news personalities regardless of network. The central thought is . "Is there one  who can surpass Doocy's idiocy." Needless to say, I fail with each excursion into trying to find a personality that even rivals Doocy.

Carlson's reputation on the "COUCH" fit the Fox News business model like a wet glove.  A few years back we published a few pieces which on the surface appear as libido ticklers, when in fact the pieces speak to Fox News strategy in attracting viewers. One exhibit appears a clear case on intentional raising of the skirt for a thigh shot; you cannot miss it if you watch. You will also notice CNN's efforts to capture viewership with their high/chair or couch format. Re-posted links to make a point: I, II, III.....

We posit Fox News has upgraded to a new and later model for retention of their early morning over 50 male audience.

Huffington Post.....Hasselback

One item is for certain, CNN has upped its morning COUCH, didn't you expect Fox to do same? Oh, we almost forgot...MSNBC still has no morning COUCH.  Maybe, the network paces a premium on credible news coverage and political commentary without the need for prurient exhibits.

If you think about what you just watched, you should know that MSNBC, "Does not have a COUCH."

Media Matters: Fox's Doocy Falsely Claims Health Care Ruling Creates A Tax That's "Going To Hit Everybody"

Pants on Fire

The following should not surprise readers of The Progressive Influence.  The Fox & Friends morning brain trust, followed its producers directions; use the Courts ruling of the constitutionality of tax consequences for refusal to secure health coverage.

If you can take the inane drivel, watch Doocy, Carlson and Kimeade do what they do best: give television news shows a bad name.  Two points..... I stretch my imagination to refer to the show as news show. Second,  I could only watch for a brief momnet or two. You might pay focused attention to the 'very cognitive' Doocy as he sets-up the "Medicare Killer' Paul Ryan, with, " is going to hit everybody isn't it".

June 29, 2012 11:05 am ET
From the June 29 edition of Fox News' Fox & Friends:

Regardless of Ryan's answer, which I frankly did not watch, it is impossible for the ACA to result in taxes on "Everybody".

The strategy from the Right was clear within hours of the historic SCOTUS Decision. The Court ruled the commerce clause in relation to the ACA's mandate was unconstitutional, but the right to place the penalty for refusal to secure health coverage in the realm of the IRS as a tax was constitutional.    Ah and Alas the Right grab its time proven 'false mantra' of not raising taxes, revive the presidents comments about not increasing taxes on the american [people, and developed their strategy going into the fall elections.

A few excerpts from Media Matters.

Right-Wing Media Respond By Claiming Obama Instituted "Massive" Tax "On All Americans"
