Abortion Shooter And His Acts Receiving Mixed Comment From Conservatives (Or No Comment)

The following was posted during yesterday's nascent case of US terrorism.  As we watched the five-hour stand-off, many surely reflected not only on the tragedy of yet another example of American home-grown terrorism, we also thought of the ugly flak from millions who have succumbing to media paranoia about resettling 10,000 refugees from Syria.

GOP leaders:
Ben Carson "Rabid Dogs" regarding Syrian refugees.  He is as of today performing yet another phony act common to GOP presidential candidates via visiting a Syrian refugee camp.
Donald Trump stated he would actually send them back in addition to his iron-fist proclamation of no Syrian refugees.
Chris (Bridegate) Christie even stated he would block five-year-old kids from the prospect of a decent place to live. Link: Child sleeps in a wooded area; barefoot children sleep on the ground; family of barefoot children.
Ted Cruz commented as such last year: Fox News segment. A couple of weeks back Cruz adorned his Chameleon suit, went on camera (1, 2) and took legislative action
Jeb Bush and John Kasich were much more humane and civil about the prospect of resettling a minuscule number of Syrian refugees.
Marco Rubio? The candidate moves around issues, squirms day-to-day and changes his position so much we dare not post any comment he will have sipped water and changed his position three times before I finish this piece.
As the abduction oft eh Planned Parenthood Facility unfolded and it became obvious the killer was not a person of color, the Internet burst with conservative response to comments about US Terrorism. The following is one such example. It is important to note, the responses from this Right-wing troll were keyboarded without any references to race nor references to the Obama Administration.

First note the Facebook badge assumed by the cloaked troll.

Today in Islam

Facebook post One:
Today in Islam The fuhrer in the White House is waiting to see if the shooter is a Christian or Muslim before labeling it "terrorism" or "gun violence"
Obama, kapos, berni, eva hillary braun, and the National Socialists - NAZIFYING AmeriKa one atrocity at a time
Facebook post Two:
Today in Islam Interesting: There are scores of facilities at that mall and the "progressive" propaganda machines are all zoned in at Planned Eugenics. When it comes out the shooter is a muslim jihadist, wonder how the headlines will read: "gun violence?" "a misunderstanding of Sharia?" "Just random folk?" (victims have to be Jewish to use that) "The Toll of Climate Change?"
There are more, but for expedience let's leave the posts at this point. You should also be aware of a meme post from the troll's Facebook page.

Meme aside, we remind the comments above were keyboarded or cut and pasted in response to accurate comments about home-grown terrorism.

Another Facebook colleague posted what some will call a rant about the Planned Parenthood takeover and related murders. I consider the comments as point-on and an indictment of an American ideology movement which brandishes open bigotry and inhumane rhetoric (including 35 plus US Governors).

Right now, there's a white middle aged man shooting people at a Planned Parenthood in Colorado.
I promise you, he is not a liberal.
I guarantee that he is not a Muslim.
I'll bet money that he claims he was "saving babies from being sold in pieces."
I'll bet even more money that he loves JAYZUS!
I'll bet my last dollar that he hates Obama.
I'll bet my soul that he will not be called a terrorist.
I'll bet the souls of my children there will not be a national conversation about profiling, spying on, rounding up or even mildly inconveniencing right wing Christian extremists.
How can I be so utterly sure of these things? Because this is 'Murika, where domestic terrorism is openly encouraged by one of the two major political movements while the "liberal" media pretends there's no pattern to the violence.
The next few days will be a flurry of activity on the right to distance themselves from their direct responsibility. They'll call him mentally ill or autistic. They'll find a single time he posted something nice about a Democrat in a forest of pro-"life" and pro-gun insanity and demand all liberals apologize for the violence. They'll feign shock and surprise that such a thing could happen. Someone will find a way to blame Obama, probably for not defunding PP like Republicans wanted.
And we will still not call it terrorism. Terrorism is what "those" people do, not something good, JAYZUS-lovin' white 'Murikans do.
I feel safer every single day. Don't you?
The white male terrorist at Planned Parenthood has shot more people today than Syrian refugees have since 2001 — because that number is zero.Posted by Mike Victor on Friday, November 27, 2015

Suspected shooter at Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood taken into custody (Screenshot/CBS News)

Facts: The shooter is a white male, he is a terrorist (killing three including Christian church Deacon cop), and he abducted innocent people and led to sheltering of many people within blocks of the facility.

Right-wing Fox News goes full "circle the wagons" against the reality of a non-Muslim, non-person of color terrorist (act). Examples of such denial are ever-present despite reports of witness observing the killer enter the building with bundles which may have included IED (bombs).

GOP Presidential prospects go silent (with one exception). One can only guess they care nothing about the dead Americans, they may care more about offending potential GOP voters.
All three Democratic candidates have spoken out on the Planned Parenthood shooting. So far, only one Republican candidate has.

The following congressman is a consistent fact on CNN and Fox News waving the saber regarding potential US troops on the ground in the Middle-East. He also consistently preaches all things conservative with regard for the deeper impact of his rhetoric. Watch as he predicts the prospect of an apology from the Planned Parenthood Director, and he did so without any foresight the killer was actually targeting the facility. The Congressman is a true embodiment of conservative shallowness compounded by the need to offer rhetoric for votes.

Another observation. When the congressman asserted deep offense (from many people) about the Planned Parenthood videos, the CNN host didn't bother (to as a minimum) mention the tapes were heavily edited. Since Carly Fiorina mentioned the edited video at the second GOP debate, the mother of the stillborn child has spoken publicly about unauthorized use of the still-born baby issues. She was not an abortion recipient.
This congressman has blood on his hands.

While we have not received confirmation of Planned Parenthood as the target of the latest right-wing killer, Ezra Klein's Vox published a telling piece that for me leads to a heightened sense of anti-abortion suspicion.

Jeb Bush Joins The "I Misspoke" Crowd; CNN Host Channels Dumb

But, we must start this screed with the embed below.  As you think about the embed think about why a veritable dimwit like Scott Walker (Governor WI) has ranking in the GOP 1016 presidential pack.

The conservative dumb question the week.
MAKE IT STOP! MAKE IT STOP! THE STUPID....IT BUUUUUUUUURNNNNSSSS!
Posted by Justin Rosario on Tuesday, August 4, 2015

Earlier the week, democrats in the US Senate blocked a Republican Bill to strip funding from Planned Parenthood. The legislative actions was noteworthy many reasons, but imagine a critical item left as the dust settles.

A leading GOP presidential candidate has again found himself using that increasingly familiar vernacular, "I misspoke" "I was inarticulate"

On Tuesday, Jeb Bush during an interview an audience of Southern Baptists, called end Planned Parenthood's federal payments.  As is often the case, an on an increasing basis, the leading conservative contender for the GOP nomination spoke for his heart about an issue that should trouble US women in the millions. His comments were especially revealing regarding younger child bearing aged women.  If you seriously think the GOP is not anti-woman and you do not think the party is not perpetrating a war on non-married younger women consider this: Bush suggested that women's health issues were over-funded.
"I'm not sure we need a half-billion dollars for women's health issues."
The Mashable

Jeb Bush would follow Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States and he (at this stage in his campaign) goes front of a group of veritable evangelicals and declares the nation spends too much on women';s health. The GOP candidates are the weirdest lot of Koch brothers minions imaginable.

Within hours, the words come flow "I misspoke."

Jeb Bush: I 'Misspoke' On Women's Health Spending Comments

With regards to women’s health funding broadly, I misspoke, as there are countless community health centers, rural clinics, and other women’s health organizations that need to be fully funded. They provide critical services to all, but particularly low-income women who don’t have the access they need.
I was referring to the hard-to-fathom $500 million in federal funding that goes to Planned Parenthood – an organization that was callously participating in the unthinkable practice of selling fetal organs. Democrats and Republicans agree we absolutely must defund them and redirect those funds to other women’s health organizations.
There was brief confusion over the statement due to discrepancies between a version sent to reporters and one posted online, which was taken down after a few minutes.

@ZekeJMillerHuh— "I misspoke" is not in the version of Jeb statement emailed out to reporters. It's online here https://jeb2016.com/statement-federal-funding-planned-parenthood/?lang=en

Being White Is Awesome! (If You Love White Privilege)

Being White Is Awesome And New Study Proves It

Talk to a white person about White Privilege and they tend to respond with this:

And it’s not just conservatives who refuse to believe White Privilege is real, a lot of white liberals choke on the premise as well. Apparently, no one likes to hear that the color of their skin makes life easier for them. But not wanting to believe something doesn’t change the fact that it is true.

To see if white people are given preference (privilege) over nonwhites, two researchers in Australia conducted a simple experiment: They had 29 testers of various ages and ethnic backgrounds try to use an empty bus fare card to see if the driver would let them slide.

With more than 1,500 observations, the study uncovered substantial, statistically significant race discrimination. Bus drivers were twice as willing to let white testers ride free as black testers (72 percent versus 36 percent of the time). Bus drivers showed some relative favoritism toward testers who shared their own race, but even black drivers still favored white testers over black testers (allowing free rides 83 percent versus 68 percent of the time).
The study also found that racial disparities persisted when the testers wore business attire or dressed in army uniforms. For example, testers wearing army uniforms were allowed to ride free 97 percent of the time if they were white, but only 77 percent of the time if they were black.
So for the simple fact of the color of their skin, white people get a significant advantage over nonwhite people. That is the absolute bottom line definition of White Privilege.

And it doesn't even matter what angle you look at it from. Are white people getting more free rides than average or are minorities getting less? The end result is the same: Being white gets you advantages you did not earn in any way at all.

Right about now, the usual suspects (white men) are whining that they don’t have it any easier because they’re white. They’re still struggling blablabla. Go read this explanation of why you’re wrong and come back with a greater understanding of how much easier you have it.

This kind of systemic racism is not necessarily coordinated or even conscious. I can almost guarantee that most, if not all, of the bus drivers would deny being racist. Yet, they clearly are even if it’s not malicious and intentional.

For me, the most important part of this study, as far as proving White Privilege is real, is the following: “but even black drivers still favored white testers over black testers (allowing free rides 83 percent versus 68 percent of the time).” This is a vitally important point if you ever want to understand White Privilege. White Privilege is not simply white people discriminating against blacks or treating white people better, it’s a cultural norm in which white people are treated as superior even by minorities.
Back in the late 90s, I was a white as white can be assistant manager at Electronics Boutique and my manager, Stephen, was black. Stephen was a metrosexual before the term existed. He was just as tall as me, immaculately well dressed (shirt, tie, slacks and nice shoes), in much better shape, had a sharp hair cut, noticeably older (but only by a few years) and good looking. In comparison, I was quite slovenly (don’t judge me!). If I had been black, no one would have even glanced at me as the walked straight up to the man who was clearly the manager. Yet, every new customer, black, white, Asian, Latino, male, female automatically assumed I was in charge simply because I was white.

Even worse, there were a great many times when I would point out that Stephen was in charge and the customer would get this guilty look on their face. They knew why they had assumed I was the manager and it never occurred to them what they were doing until it was made blindingly obvious. I imagine the bus drivers would have the exact same look on their face if they were confronted with their behavior.

As the bus driver study shows, White Privilege is very real and can be unbelievably subtle. The only way we’ll ever get rid of it is if we stop pretending it doesn’t exist. The people who complain that we’re making race relations worse by talking about racism have it exactly backwards. Covering it up only allows it fester. The more open we are about what we are doing, the fewer shadows racism, unconscious or other wise, will have to hide in.

Two NYC Police Ambushed And Gunned Down By Deranged Black Man: Fire and Brimstone; White Vegas Cop Killers: No Rhetoric Against Obama

Shepard Smith, Fox News covered the shooting while remaining within the confines of Fox New straight reporting. Comment on the shooting from ox News conservative demagogues was few and far between, if at all.

Media Matters published a detail accounting of the murders and background information on the killers.

Media Matters

How Fox News Covers Right-Wing Cop Killers

When Political Violence Doesn't Warrant Collective Blame

››› ERIC BOEHLERT
Claiming to be acting under the bloody "banner of Liberty and Truth," Jerad Miller and his wife Amanda, entered CiCi's Pizza in Las Vegas on Sunday right before noon and executed two local policemen on their lunch break. Authorities say Jerad approached one officer while he was refilling his soda cup and shot him in the head from behind, before he and Amanda opened fire on his partner.
While patrons scrambled to safety, one of the shooters reportedly shouted that the "revolution" had begun. The duo then stripped the officers of their weapons and ammunition and badges, and covered them with cloth that featured the "Don't tread on me" Gadsden flag, which has recently been adopted as a symbol of the tea party movement. The couple also left a swastika on one of the officers.
Six days earlier, the right-wing shooter had posted a manifesto of sorts on Facebook where he announced "we must prepare for war." Jerad Miller, who traveled to Cliven Bundy's Nevada ranch this spring to join the militia protests against the federal government, declared that in order to "To stop this oppression, I fear, can only be accomplished with bloodshed."
The Facebook rant was just one of many clues about the shooters' radical political leanings. Jerad Miller "left behind social media postings that show his concerns over Benghazi, chemtrails, gun control laws, and the government's treatment of rancher Cliven Bundy," Raw Story reported. (One of the viral images Miller shared online carried the caption, "Jeez, it's no wonder liberalism's regarded as a mental disorder.") The shooter had talked to his neighbor about his "desire to overthrow the government and President Obama and kill police officers," according to NBC News.
After murdering two police officers, Miller and his wife, carrying large duffle bags, set upon a nearby WalMart, killed a shopper who attempted to confront the couple with his concealed handgun, exchanged gunfire with law enforcement, and then died in an apparent suicide pact.
The politically motivated ambush represents just the latest in a long line of recent far-right, anti-government acts of violence in America. From neo-Nazi killers, to a string of women's health clinic bombings and assaults, as well as bloody assaults on law enforcement from anti-government insurrectionists, acts of right-wing extreme violence continue to terrorize victims in the U.S.
In fact, the deadly, and premeditated, gun rampage in Las Vegas came just two days after Dennis Marx, member of the "sovereign citizen" anti-government movement, tried to lay siege to a courthouse outside of Atlanta. Sovereign citizens are militia-like radicals who don't believe the federal government has the power and legitimacy to enforce the law. The FBI has called the movement "a growing domestic terror threat to law enforcement."

What we have with Kristol and company is the ugly aftermath of killings of unarmed citizens who happen to be black, related protests and anxious tendencies on the Right to find fault. They levy fault with anyone who speaks up with any semblance of empathy for the black community. Bill Kristol may have commented about the horrors of the Jared Miller killings, but he certainly did not seek to find race based reasons for his comment. The demagogue had perfect opportunity to link Miller to the racist hordes at the Bundy Ranch; he did not follow that path.

A little icing for this screed.

The American Right Wing; Death Spiral; Denying Racism Via Justin Rosario

Re-Blog from Liberals Unite via Justin Rosario

The American Right Wing Is In A Death Spiral Of Denial And Racism

March 3, 2014 | Posted by: Justin Rosario
Dixie1
“The Southern Strategy is a liberal myth! Liberals are the REAL racists! Liberals keep blacks on the Democratic Plantation! Liberals are afraid of blacks that can think for themselves! You’re just playing the race card! Blablabla! Garble Yarble Snarg!” – Standard right wing response to being called a racist.
When future historians look back at early 21st century politics, they will note that the political right was engaged in a level of denial not seen since since the band kept playing as the Titanic sank. The election of a black man to the White House triggered a response that can be charitably described as “unbelievably racist.”
Whoops! There I go, playing the race card again!
But let’s be honest: nobody screams “Go back to Kenya!” at a guy born and raised in Hawaii who lived in Indonesia for 4 years (which is over 5,000 miles away from Kenya) unless his skin color is an issue. If you seriously doubt this, try to imagine angry conservatives screaming “Go back to England!” to a hypothetical President Hilary Clinton. Doesn’t make any sense does it? Neither does “Go back to Kenya!” if race is removed from the equation.
But try convincing a right winger of that.

Seriously, who do they think they’re kidding?

What the right wing is doing right now is using racism to motivate their dying political movement. It’s called the Southern Strategy and despite what every single conservative will tell you, it’s quite real.
The Southern Strategy was first employed by Richard Nixon and Barry Goldwater as a way for the Republican Party to win elections in the South. Until the 60s, the South was strongly Democratic because, once upon a time, the Democratic Party was the party of slavery and racism. The Democratic Party actually founded the KKK a century ago! It’s true!
Conservatives LOVE to recite these facts. To them, it’s “proof” that Democrats and liberals are the “real” racists. But just as the right wing likes to “forget” about the disastrous eight years of George W. Bush, the also “forget” about what happened after the 60s.
You see, a funny thing happened after Democratic president Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 into law:
Southern white people went completely insane with rage.
How DARE black people be allowed to vote! How DARE black people be allowed to eat and shop wherever they want! How DARE white people be told they can’t treat blacks like slaves! This is the SOUTH and we like our Negroes to know their place!

Come to the White Side, we have cookies!

Nixon and Goldwater played to this completely unconcealed rage by pretending they cared about “states’ rights.” States’ rights, of course, is the fictional cause of the Civil War that racists use to literally whitewash the South’s failed attempt to perpetuate slavery and, later, apartheid. By pretending to care about the plight of the poor, oppressed white man in the South, the Republican Party was able to win the White House and more or less take over the region.
Recognizing a winning strategy, conservatives and Republicans threw themselves into dog whistle politics with a vengeance. Republican strategist Lee Atwater’s infamous quote perfectly sums up the right wing’s move to coded racism:
You start out in 1954 by saying, “Nigger, nigger, nigger.” By 1968 you can’t say “nigger”—that hurts you, backfires. So you say stuff like, uh, forced busing, states’ rights, and all that stuff, and you’re getting so abstract. Now, you’re talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you’re talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is, blacks get hurt worse than whites.… “We want to cut this,” is much more abstract than even the busing thing, uh, and a hell of a lot more abstract than “Nigger, nigger.”
Atwater, however, would be appalled by the modern day GOP and frothing at the mouth at the Tea Party. In a classic case of the chickens coming home to roost, conservative politicians have completely forgotten that the point of dog whistle politics is to appeal to bigots but still retain a fig leaf of respectability to allow moderates to ignore the underlying racism.
50 years of whipping up the racial resentment of right wingers has resulted in a crop of politicians who actually believe the nonsense they spew. Ronald Reagan was many things: a liar, a criminal and a bigot but he wasn’t stupid. He and the rest of the GOP did not actually believe that that an army of “welfare queens” were stealing millions of tax payer dollars. They didn’t actually believe that a race war was coming. They were quite aware that was just red meat for the rubes. Keep’em angry and they won’t notice while you give all of their money to the rich.
These days, Republicans are moving away from coded language and being far more open about how much they hate black people (and women and gays and immigrants, etc.). They call the president a skinny ghetto crackhead.” They say “I don’t want to make

black
blah people’s lives better by giving them somebody else’s money” (the “somebody,” of course, being white people). They say, on camera, Voter ID will hurt “lazy blacks.”
But, you know, they’re not appealing to white racists for votes or anything. That whole Southern Strategy thing is just a liberal myth…

Racist is as racist does.

Your average conservative lies through their teeth when they say they don’t care about race. When they talk about “welfare queens,” they ain’t talking about white women. When they talk about “thugs,” they ain’t talking about Justin Beiber. When the GOP goes on a rampage to cut food stamps and calls President Obama the “food stamp president,” they ain’t talking about fiscal responsibility.
No, they are talking about black people. Whoops! There’s that darn race card!
But what else can you say to someone that declares that over 90% of black people are too stupid to vote the “right” way? What can you say to someone that smugly announces that most blacks are killed by other blacks (and then refuses to acknowledge that most whites are killed by other whites)? What can you say to someone that says they “know a
blackguy” that uses his food stamps to buy crab legs so the whole program must be riddled with fraud?
If you’re me, you state the obvious, “You’re a racist piece of dirt.” And then sit back and listen to the howls of transparent denial and phony indignation.

Does it ever end?

Actually, yes, it does. The Southern Strategy is in its final stages and it’s destroying the GOP. Rapidly changing demographics, an aging base and the aforementioned crop of extremist politicians have combined to poison the conservative movement.
Pandering to racists is like a drug addiction: It’s easy to start and feels great for a while but it’s incredibly hard to stop and you need more of it just to keep going. The GOP wants to appeal to minority voters but can’t stop the racist rhetoric lest their bigoted base drop them like a hot potato.
And so the GOP is trapped by the very same Southern Strategy that served them so well for so many decades. The kind of intolerant voter they sought will be even more intolerant of the mandatory move to the social left the GOP must make to remain viable on the national stage. Imagine having a party that supported all the same kinds of hate you live and breathe. Now imagine that party opens its doors to the very same people you despise. It will be like the 60s all over again. Angry white bigots will feel betrayed by “their” party. In the areas of the country they control, they will elect ever more extreme and vitriolic lunatics to represent their core values of hate and fear.  Michele Bachmann was just the beginning. At least she tended to go along with the GOP leadership. Ted Cruz, on the other hand, represents the next iteration of this death spiral. He takes every opportunity to throw his own party under the bus for not being “ideologically pure.”
To paraphrase The Crow:
A (white) Man has an idea. The idea attracts others, like minded. The idea expands, the idea becomes an institution. What was the idea?
Sooner or later, the southern right wing will start openly speaking of “white pride” as a campaign platform and the Southern Strategy will have fully come around to bite the GOP in its lily white ass.
Nom. Nom. Nom.
