The Daily GOP Ignominious: GOP Debate 5 (The Shame Of It All)

Let's start our review of the GOP debates with the most unfathomable comment of the two debate four hour night: Lindsey Graham misses who?

From Lindsey Graham's obvious attempt to excite the debate (GOP) audience via his insane lament for George W. Bush what better way to capture a quick view of the GOP debate than a quick video visual of who talked and what they talked about.
Back to the main stage. Trump exposes a severe lack of knowledge of a communication's media, the Internet, he spends as much time using as sitting for a hair comb-over.  He doesn't understand even the basics of the Internet. Yet, he posits and declares his wish to have the Internet restricted in the United States. What ever happened to a GOP that formerly claimed the US constitution as their bible.

That was purely farcical and some in the audience let Trump know their thoughts about his rhetoric on the Internet.

The US economy is not a topic that garners even moderate comment from the GOP.  Evidence of an economy that may have moved into the realm of post-Bush healed.
Trump is the consummate politician.  He claims to have only exist as a politician for the past six months; no.... any and all CEOs, business owners and the uber wealthy are (in some form) politicians. This weeks' GOP debates again showed the extent our celebrity worship and silliness surrounding Trump's campaign for the GOP nomination. His actions were those of a spoiled child with nothing more than insults to carry him through two hours on the debate stage.

One example of his complete and utter unpreparedness for any political office was embodied in his response regarding the nation's defense "Triad."

Check out the shallowness and the manner in which Rubio jumped to explain it while off-handed poking at Trumps lack of knowledge.  Trump stumbled; Rubio explained.

And, that is how an exposed carnival barker appears after being caught ill-equipped to answer a question.  For those who would say, it is too early for Trump to have such knowledge, wait until he wins the election and gets that first Security Briefing.  If you thought such your shallowness is also now exposed and you are caught walking into the Trump carnival tent.  If you and I know what the term denotes, certainly  we should expect similar from one who aspires to have his fingers on the Red Button.

Trump was also exposed after the debate as a schmoozing operator as he sat for a few minutes with, MSNBC's Chris Matthews.  As Trump joined Matthews he spent strategic time praising Matthews ("...good show'), and lavishing a bit of praise on the MSNBC contributor who also sat on the platform ("This is is a real professional").  But, take a look at how Matthews maneuvered Trump into his past over-the-top racist birtherism

Speaking of "birtherism", Trump hasn't once commented about Cruz like birth-right.  Has Trump's avoiding the same questions against Cruz an indication of Trump's aversion to the African-American in the White House?

No review of Tuesday night would be complete without exposure of Carly Fiorina as the literally lying fraud of a candidate.  Her assertion of a string of general replaced by Obama did not make it pass even a basic fact check.  First of all, Petraeus was nor removed as a military general due to "not telling Obama what he wanted to hear." He was removed from the battlefield and given the Director of the CIA job and promptly lost that job due to his pillow talk and sharing defense secrets with a concubine journalist.

Special Atteniton on Fiorina via Politifact

Mostly False

"One of the things I would immediately do … is bring back the warrior class -- Petraeus, McChrystal, Mattis, Keane, Flynn. ... Every one was retired early because they told President Obama things that he didn’t want to hear."
— Carly Fiorina on Tuesday, December 15th, 2015 in a GOP debate on CNN

As reported via the Rachel Maddow Show, Fox News also sought to check on Fiorina's (fired the generals) lie. Note Obama hater Stuart Varney's team programmed one of Fiorina's generals; the segment didn't go as I am sure Fox News hoped.

Media Matters

There was yet another exmaple of the big oops from the GOP deabagte stage. Fox News's Brett Baier cornered Cruz for I am certain what Cruz thought was a sterling opportunity to overwhlem Baier's audience with smooth talk.  It didn't go according to Hoyle. Unfoertuanltey, the Baier segmetn is 3:46 mintues..skip through it. wehy expsoe yourself to that many minutes of Cruz's rhetoric.

  Double OOPS!

One other really intriguing tidbit about the GOP Circa 2016. The nation's number one uber wealthy contributor to "all things GOP, apparently met with four "top GOP candidates." Well, in the linked segment (10:45 mark to the 11:09 mark) Jeb Bush is in the group of four, but no Ben Carson.  Wonder why? (linked)

While there is much more regarding the Tuesday night show, but let's end with a few Fact-Check links.

Lindsey Graham: US Troops In Middle East Forever!" GOP Gone Mad

If you have any recall, you should remember the Bush Administration convinced the world that Saddam Hussein possessed weapons of mass destruction including nuclear weapons.

The first 20 seconds of the following video captures the essence of the US invasion of Iraq and the reaming three plus minutes speak volumes about the "Big Lie."

Chris Matthews, MSNBC's Hardball,  and Former Deputy CIA Director, Mike Morrell. (historic interview)

Cheney's lie validated via the ultimate insider: a deputy Director of the US CIA.

Thus, the nation and the world followed the Bush/Cheney WMD lie and charged into Iraq. As we approached the 2016 General Elections, attention tot he wisdom or lack there of in charging into Iraq is blossoming liek a seasonal Rose bulb.

Earlier in the week and just after Lindsey Graham, US Senator (R) South Carolina, Medite reported on Graham's comment about the Iraq War.  Will Graham try to carve a nomination niche withy ultra hawkish rhetoric. He via his comments of yesterday literally admitted that the US invaded iraq for reason well beyond the fraud of "WMD." "Knowing what we know now, I'd have found other ways to kill Saddam Hussein."  Well damn!

Two plus trillion dollars against us federal expenditure, 4500 plus US troops and contracts dead, hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead...and the foundation birth of what has become ISIS.

Graham's campaign moves to yet another level. He now states the US should keep troops in the Middle East forever!
Commentary (website)
In a typical year over the past half-century, 19 countries hosted more than a thousand American soldiers. Japan, Korea, and Germany are the best known hosts of American military bases, but most people are unaware that U.S. soldiers lived in Bosnia, the Philippines, and Italy (host to 10,000 U.S. troops per year for more than 60 years).
American troop deployments overseas from 1950 to 1989 (the Cold War era) averaged 610,453 per year. During the “peace dividend” decade that followed, the total force strength shrank by two-fifths, from 2.5 to 1.6 million (then shrank again in the most recent decade to 1.4 million). Boots on foreign ground declined abruptly in the decade after 1990 to only 258,709 before rising again to 357,236 between the years 2002 and 2012.
Contrary to conventional wisdom, most troop deployments were not to countries at war—the sole exception being the years from 1966 to 1970, the height of the war in Vietnam. In the 1980s, 300,000 American forces were stationed in European allied countries, 100,000 in Asian allied countries, 5,000 in Turkey (a NATO ally), and 9,000 in Panama.

Could Lindsey Graham experience many such cognitive fits of ignorance? Maybe, he is simply campaign lying to carve-out a bit more polling points.  In any case the charts just above place his "Middle East forever" comments ion true perspective. Are you willing to spend more federal dollars stationing troops abroad, while the GOP fights to reduce taxes that disproportionately help the rich?  Didn't we go through this scenario before.

The Daily GOP Ignominious II: Lindsey Graham Would Order The Military Against The US Congress! Why Joke As Such?

From time to time, we find comment from the GOP that needs no additional opine nor afront. One set of words (as a joke) came from the war-hawk mouth of a former Air Force JAG officer. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, must have suffered yet another episode of constipation of the brain accompanied by chronic diarrhea of the mouth.

Lindsey Graham Jokes: I’d Use the Military to Force Congress to Reverse Defense Cuts

During his remarks before the Concord City Republican Committee last week, Sen. Lindsey Graham(R-SC) suggested that robust military spending is absolutely necessary to defeat ISIS forces abroad, and that, as president, he would use the military itself to force Congress to reverse budgetary cuts to defense and intel.
In brief audio obtained by Ben, Sen. Graham purportedly suggests he would use the military to restrict the movement of Congress until they complied:
…[A]nd here is the first thing I would do if I were President of the United States: I wouldn’t let Congress leave town until we fix this. I would literally use the military to keep them in if I had to. We’re not leaving town until we restore these defense cuts. We’re not leaving town until we restore the intel cuts.
Seeing the high possibility that this could be Graham’s special brand of humor, we’ve reached out to his office and will update if and when we hear back.
Asked for comment or clarification, Graham responded to the right-leaning website with this boilerplate: “Due to the large volume of mail I receive, I regret that I am only able to respond personally to inquiries from South Carolinians. “
[UPDATE -- 3:42 p.m. ET: As his office clarifies, Graham was employing over-the-top humor to win over his audience.]

Some soon we forget George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and Congressionals like Graham.   Isn't there a national defense contractor conference courtney running someplace in the US?

Right-Wing Facebook Gallery!

A GOP an conservative quick hit.

Time for a Right-Wing Facebook gallery.  The amazing thing about these galleries is the extent to which millions assimilate, believe and absorb to paradigm as we ridicule as ludicrous.

We will start with the increasingly nutty Lindsey Graham.

Lindsey Graham blames Barack Obama's policies Charlie Hebdo attack.

Rudy Giuliani goes after Barack Obama for refusing to call Paris terrorists "Islamic" ...before they were identified.

From one major ditz to another...this one is a Fox News version.
Post by Salon.

Before the inane video segment, check this out. Fox News producers and writer have access to this data. They the hyperbolic nature of their segment. But, when the network has to feed its viewers the quality of feed isn't important.

"Facts are pesky things."

And the reality is....Progressives and Liberals sat back and again handed the GOP a political victory.

Ist 2015 Facebook Gallery From The TPI

It is time for our first 2015 Facebook GOP Gallery visit. Our visits generally follow along the same path( a path strewn with misinformation insanity or lies) so our traipse will not surprise you.

Let's start this Facebook journey with a bit of Koch schmoozing from a member of the US Congress. The Congressman continues to use the "lie statistic", even after the CEO of Trans Canada, during an interview with ABC Newsfailed to solidly make the claim of 42,000 jobs via construction of the Keystone XL PipelineOf course, we realize the GOP members of congress have only one television information source, one radio information source and one major website for right wing chatter (The Drudge Report), but to continue the lie is unfathomable. And the congressman in the embed that follows is a Medical doctor!

Post by Mediaite.

Mia Love (R-UT) says "time to move on from Scalise's white supremacist snuggling.

Really? It does not matter to this republican that a leader in the House of Representatives attended an spoke at a white supremacist event. She doesn't are that he is reported to have snuggled up to other racist groups.  Of course, we know exactly why she wants the nation to move on. Isn't she new to the US Congress?  Well, that brings forth an old adage.

"Thy who needs to suck the most, suck the hardest."

Yeah Ms. Love...sure, sure.

Lindsey Graham proves he is infested with racism and flirts with outright sedition. Didn't he learn from his orgasmic experience over Putin?

The Ugliness Of Conservative America's Demagogues

A Visit on the Dark Side

We must start our early week review of conservative America with the ultimate racist: Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani joined a Meet The Press panel and during a discussion of Ferguson Missouri removed his glasses and spewed racist remarks much like the KKK leader who spewed similar garbage with Chris Hayes on MSNBC. He pulled out the "black on black" crime mantra and rubbed a tragic social problem in the face of panelist Micheal Eric Dyson. The Conservative dog whistle is no different than the Grand Dragon of the Traditionalist Klu Klux Klan stating St. Louis area cops received threat of spousal rape by protesters. Get it? Predominately white police forces and predominate black protest and the word "rape." Yes, you got it! Guiliani's "black on black" crime was tantamount to throwing a punching (after removing his glasses) and was little different than the KKK leaders use of racially charge oratory.

“Used with permission from the TPM websites, a service of TPM Media LLC.”
"It is the reason for the heavy police presence in the black community," he said. "White police officers won't be there if you weren't killing each other 70 percent of the time."
Dyson shot back at Giuliani and said, "this is a defense mechanism of white supremacy at work in your mind."
Watch the clip via NBC:

In July 2013, Melissa Harris Perry hosted a panel that include race activism educator and lecturer Tim Wise. After the conservative phraseology cross ed the studio set, Wise patiently waited for an opportunity to retort against the racially convenient dog whistle.

As we run through a few segments, we list the following segment right up front. One would think the GOP leader (of both houses) would have a better answer when asked about how he would respond to the president.

Ted Cruz could only offer what amounted to gibberish diarrhea.

On CNN Lindsey Graham fulfilled his Sunday morning duties by calling the GOP House report on Benghazi the "C" Word: "full of crap."

Post by Andrew Rei.

Now, watch the power of the big pay check and its influence on human behavior. The Fox news demagogue knows the US was not "fine" before President Obama was elected president. He knows he lies and he knows his viewers are sympathetic ears who accept any line he shovels them.  Eric Bolling doesn't have an iota of credibility and is often the spewer of vile misinformation and disgusting humor on the Fox News Show "The Five." How about his recent comments about the woman United Arab Emirates (Muslim) fighter pilot who delivered ordinance against ISIL target? He quipped about "boobs on the ground."   Bolling knows the reality of Fox News viewers.

An easy pay check!

Watch as Bolling feeds his viewers pure unadulterated toiler fodder.

If Bolling is corrects if he speaks of.....
Reduced deficits,
Less US troops at war,
Elimination of DADT and DOMA,
The Lilyledbetter Fair Pay Act,
The Affordable Care Act,
DREAMER executive action,
Immigration executive action,
Revived international  respect for the Office of the    Presidency,
A revived and reinvigorated US economy,
A vibrant auto industry hosting millions of thousands jobs in related industries
Bolling also knows this.... Bolling also knows this.....

Bolling certainly knows his GOP fought the Stimulus as if re-fighting the Civil War and factually gave Obama $400 million less than the Administration request.

In 2012, the most telling of memes was published with a contrast of Reagan and Obama with consideration of lauding Reagan and vilifying Obama.

Bolling would not know the details of the facts in the meme, but he knows his oratory is pure bill for the ears of "toilets."

But, when serving Tin Hat viewers the afore-mentioned facts and illustrations mean nothing.

Cheney? Dick Cheney? As Assessor Of A US President?

A comment from POTUS that has to make US conservative war-hawks sick to their jingoist stomachs.

"Just because we have the best hammer does not mean that every problem is a nail." — President Obama on U.S. leadership in the world

I am certain the comment and subsequent Tweet has John McCain salivating in rage, Lindsey Graham holding McCain hand in sympathetic solace and Kelly Ayotte enacting a "what do I do next?" followers posture.

Presidents Obama's announcement of the US draw-down of US troops in Afghanistan is the natural next stage of removal of the 'Hammer when there is no nail worthy of continued driving forces.' The draw-down is also the anticipation and expected continuum of the graphic just above.

Reuters November 2013 captured the Obama Afghanistan "surge" and associated coalition deaths....(added text and identifiers via The Pardu.)

President Obama enacts Executive Branch leadership by reducing US troop strength and presence in Afghanistan. Of course, the chorus from the Right is: "....weak, failure, sending messages to the Taliban, sending message across the globe." The very loudest and most detestable of whiners is of all people Dick Cheney.

Cheney is the least credible person to comment about US incursion into foreign nations. Since, we know his history, his dark side and his ineptitude, we will not dwell on an old man who should simply pass away in time much like his former WMD conspirator: George W. Bush.

Let's instead take a look at how polled Americans view military involvement in Afghanistan. In 2013, ABC News published a George W. Bush survey that reflects other sourced information available to President Obama.

ABC News Poll (Langer Research) December 2013
"Most Want Some Troops In Afghanistan Despite Strong Criticism of The War"

If polled Americans have much less interest in continuing Afghan "nation protecting and nation building," what would be the logic of following GOP war hawks who are so obviously wanton of war?

Only news show hosts on MSNBC can effectively analyze the rambling blabber of Dick Cheney and Fox News facilitating propagandist: Sean Hannity. We will start with brief Politics Nation, Al Sharpton comments following Cheney's Hannity appearance. (1:44 minutes)

Now for a much more detailed analyses and comment session from The Last Word (fill-in host) Ari Melber along with two MSNBC show host.

The Last Word Intro (Ari Melber)

A detailed discussion.

Late yesterday morning, Huffington Post published a piece with comment from Richard Clark, former counter-terrorism official in the Clinton and Bush Administrations. Clark's comment when coupled with comment from former Colin Powell aid Lt. Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson cast a real shadow on Cheney's inane ramblings about appearing "weak."

Former Counterterrorism Czar Richard Clarke: Bush, Cheney Committed War Crimes

"I think things that they authorized probably fall within the area of war crimes. Whether that would be productive or not, I think, is a discussion we could all have,” said Clarke, who resigned in 2003 after the Bush administration's decision to invade Iraq. “But we have established procedures now with the International Criminal Court in The Hague, where people who take actions as serving presidents or prime ministers of countries have been indicted and have been tried.”
In the first-ever judgment of its kind, Bush and seven other top members of his administration were convicted in absentia of war crimes in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in 2012 for the unlawful invasion of Iraq.
“So the precedent is there to do that sort of thing. And I think we need to ask ourselves whether or not it would be useful to do that in the case of members of the Bush administration,” Clarke continued. “It’s clear that things that the Bush administration did -- in my mind, at least, it’s clear that some of the things they did were war crimes."
Col. Lawrence Wilkerson, former Secretary of State Colin Powell's chief of staff, also accused Cheney of war crimes in 2011, citing the former vice president's affinity for enhanced interrogation techniques.

"Waterboarding is a war crime, unwarranted surveillance ... all of which are crimes," Wilkerson said in 2011. "I don't care whether the president authorized him to do it or not, they are crimes."

As Alex Wagner stated in the video clips above, Cheney seems to have deep rooted inertia for legacy remedy and character props. Of late, the former vice president  appears before cameras with any mention of Iraq or Afghanistan and his appearances seem to have devolved to mere Obama character assassination. Fox News provides an open platform for the old predator as the network (regardless of recent ratings) fulfills its role as a devotee to delivery of Right-wing dogma.

On May 19th, we published a piece about Cheney, his book-hawking wife, and Chris Wallace in discussion of President Obama.

Question. Is it possible Fox News actually feels it is providing new worthy broadcast segments of Dick Cheney?
