"We Tortured Some Folks." And Hannity Hosted A Guest To Cry Fowl.

So, you know this man?

If you answer yes, you have an opinion of the man.

If you are a Republican likely you have a good deal of affinity for the man. If you are of other political inclination, you probably hold him in low regard.

In 2007,  just before the Great Bush/Cheney economic collapse, Gallup polling yielded approval rating results as follows:

Gallup

As is often the case, the American public has an effective memory as long as the effects of Novocaine after a dental visit. Hence, Bush and Cheney's approval ratings have ticked-up. As the ratings tick-up, people are obviously ignoring the deep pain left from the Bush Years: policy, political malfeasance and violations of International law.

If we experience memory lapses regarding the utter seriousness of the Bush years, could it be we have grown callous of the pain? Moreover, has the pain become the norm?

President Obama in response to revelations of CIA abuses (International and national abusers) for the first time has commented about US sanctioned torture.

http://www.nbcnews.com/video......

Anyone with a modicum of intellect who doesn't shroud themselves in "anti-truth" protective gear, knows the sanctioned violation of international law and human decency had deep roots in the White House.
If you know Dick Cheney, you know this person.   Yes, you know one of two Cheney daughters.
If you follow current events or watch national news (especially Fox News), you also know whenever criticism of the Bush Years manifest Liz Cheney appears as surely as the ever-present Blow Fly's quick attain to rotting organic material.

Needless to say, after Obama comments on Friday, the buzz of Liz Cheney could be heard on the Hannity Show.

US abuse of prisoners and Water-Boarding torture were authorized while Dick Cheney occupied an office in the White House. More severe forms of torture, of course, is never photographed by US forces and operatives. We can only assume the extent to which people were treated under the horror of "enhanced interrogation."

Former congressman for Florida and former military office, Allen West, was allowed to resign his military commission to avoid the Military Code of Justice prosecution for torture while serving in Iraq.

Yet, Liz Cheney buzzed-off to the willing programmers and producer of the Hannity Show to mimic Blow Fly feeding and procreation (leaving eggs). She referred to people who perpetrated violation of International Law acts against humanity as "patriots?"

While, this is the perfect spot for ending this screed, I must comment a bit more.

As we observe continuing ugliness from America's conservatives and far Right politicians, I also continue to hear people and members of congress, as well as President Obama and Vice President Biden, say: "...this is not what America is about."
No, the US officials who sanctioned, ordered and relished torture are not patriots. In fact, President Obama's first approval "hit" from liberal America was his policy of not pursuing investigation of violation of International Law.

The perpetrators should have been, as a minimum, investigated and castigated for their acts. An exceptional nation would have taken some form of official and legal actions as a barometer for acceptable behavior and as a guidepost for US History.

Dick Cheney Via The WSJ And Hawking For Daughter Continues To Embarrass The GOP

Dick Cheney comments in a Wall Street Journal OP-Ed “The Collapsing Obama Doctrine.”
There are times when we can simply post an embed and sit back to allow the visual and verbiage to soak-in like a like a dry sponge on a Wyoming tadpole pond. The embed that follows is a such a case.

Liz Cheney On Fox News Sunday: CIA Torture Report Anyone?

"Stop ‘political’ investigation of torture....."

Fox News again Dick Cheney's daughter, Liz, another run for its viewers. As expected Cheney fulfilled her political and propaganda role in attacking developing attention to US torture during Bush/Cheneys "crusades in the Middle East." As Diane Feinstein's Senate Security Committee forwards an extensive report (four years investigation and compilations) to the White House.

Let's take our quick Fox News at work  look, starting with facts related to US embassy and consulate attacks. The Raw Story piece then follows and we close with linkage to pieces related to Ambassador Steven's refusal of additional security at least twice in months prior to the attack.

Liz Cheney: Stop ‘political’ investigation of torture and focus more on Benghazi (via Raw Story )
Fox News contributor Liz Cheney on Sunday argued that a United States Senate report on Bush-era torture was “political” and that lawmakers should spend more time investigating President Barack Obama’s role in failing to prevent terrorist attacks…

In 2013 many sources reported Ambassador Stevens had, in fact, refused additional, a security at the US Embassy and Consulate. The reports are contested by the Gregory Hicks, a Stevens deputy and the GOP.

Official: Amb. Stevens Refused Additional Security

U.S. envoy Chris Stevens refused offers of more security before the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya in which he was killed, McClatchy Newspapers reported.
Why Stevens turned down the offers was unclear, given embassy officials during an Aug. 15 meeting concluded they could not defend the consulate in Benghazi amid deteriorating conditions in the city, government officials told McClatchy in an article published Tuesday.
In a cable, the embassy outlined the circumstances and said it would detail what it needed in a separate cable.
"In light of the uncertain security environment, US Mission Benghazi will submit specific requests to US Embassy Tripoli for additional physical security upgrades and staffing needs by separate cover," said the cable, which was first reported by Fox News.
Rather than wait for the second cable, however, Army Gen. Carter Ham, then-commander of the U.S. Africa Command, called Stevens and asked if the embassy needed a special security team, the officials said. Stevens told Ham it did not, the government officials said.
During a meeting several weeks later, Ham again asked Stevens if he wanted additional military security and again Stevens said no, the officials told McClatchy.
"He didn't say why. He just turned it down," one official said, speaking anonymously.
McClatchy said the offer of aid and Stevens' refusal were not revealed in either the State Department's Accountability Review Board investigation of the Benghazi events or during congressional hearings and reports issued into what happened Sept. 11, 2011, when the consulate was stormed and Stevens and three other diplomatic staffers were killed.

Report: Officials say Stevens turned down extra Benghazi security

Share on facebook?hare on twitterShare on emailShare on google_plusone_shareMore Sharing Services20U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens, who died with three other Americans in last year’s attack in Benghazi, Libya, turned down offers of additional security from military personnel on two occasions, according to a report released late Tuesday from McClatchy newspapers. The report cites two anonymous government officials who said “the senior U.S. military official in the region” twice approached Stevens with the offer, and Stevens twice declined. The report does not say why Stevens would have declined the offer.T

According to the report, U.S. officials at in Libya met in mid-August, about three weeks before the attack, to discuss the “uncertain security environment.” The meeting provoked Army Gen. Carter Ham to approach Stevens on two occasions with the offer of a special security team from the U.S. military.
“He didn’t say why. He just turned it down,” a Defense official told McClatchy.
The report comes as GOP lawmakers have renewed their probe into the administration’s handling of the attack, questioning whether more resources could have been deployed before and during the assault to protect American lives.
The McClatchy report says some lawmakers may have been aware of Stevens’s decision.
GOP lawmakers, though, expressed skepticism over the report.

Benghazi attack was preventable, Senate panel says

By KIMBERLY DOZIER AP Intelligence Writer7:44 A.M.JAN. 15, 2014

Excerpt
"The security situation in Benghazi is 'trending negatively' and ... this daily pattern of violence would be the new normal for the foreseeable future," the head State Department officer in Benghazi was quoted as saying weeks before the attack. While the nearby CIA annex upgraded its security, the temporary mission did not, the report said.
It said Stevens acknowledged the need for more security yet also turned down available U.S. military resources. The report said the Defense Department had provided a Site Security Team in Tripoli, made up of 16 special operations personnel. But the State Department decided not to extend the team's mission in August 2012, one month before the attack. In the weeks that followed, Gen. Carter Ham, then the head of the military's Africa Command, twice asked Stevens to employ the team, and twice Stevens declined, the report said.
Stevens had tried to arrange a local Libyan security force to replace the Americans, but the report said the force was never formed because of bureaucratic delays.
Still, the report faults the U.S. military for failing to anticipate it might be called on. It also says there was confusion within the Pentagon as to the location of the CIA annex — and says the regional U.S. commander must know where such facilities are in the future.
White House spokesman Jay Carney said the committee report "largely reaffirms" earlier findings and that the security recommendations are consistent with steps the State Department has already taken.

Mario Piperni Headlines Liz Cheney As "Quitter"

As we were about to head to the keyboard regarding the "QUIT" as a candidate for the US Senate, Mario Piperni blasted our email boxes with a piece that we simply cannot add additional value.

We will comment in one regard.  If you seriously believe the reason given for Cheney's decision not to run, I invite you for a few hands of Poker.

Question.  Do you really believe Liz Cheney would have dropped her quest for he Senate seat had she been a head in the pols by a wide margin?

Cry For Me, Wyoming

Cheney Dicks Unlimited-2 mariopiperni.com/

This was predictable.

Liz Cheney said in a statement early Monday morning that her decision to abruptly end her Senate campaign was prompted by health concerns in her family.

“Serious health issues have recently arisen in our family, and under the circumstances, I have decided to discontinue my campaign. My children and their futures were the motivation for our campaign and their health and well-being will always be my overriding priority,” she said in the statement.

Once back-stabbing, bigoted, sister-hating, power-hungry Liz gets past the BS excuse of health issues for her failed campaign, she’ll turn to the old conservative standby, aka Plan B – blame the biased liberal media for her miserable performance in Wisconsin Wyoming.

The only unfortunate outcome of this vile little person’s decision to quit is that we won’t get to watch Cheney getting trounced in the Republican primary.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Fox News Sean Hannity and Liz Cheney "Poppycock."

"Poppycock"

On a day when news sources (herehereare reporting the death of the Number Two (2) Taliban leader in Pakistan, Fox News feeds misinformation and propaganda to its sycophant viewers.  We will post the latest barrage of  'pure poppycock" from Sean Hannity and Liz Cheney in a moment. Let's take a moment to address the Fox News claim.

Fox News Claim: "Hannity And Liz Cheney Agree: Obama Is Afraid To Go After Terrorists"

Evidence of the scope of the Fox News "poppycock."

Takiban Leader Wali-ur-Rehman (left), deputy head

of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and three associates droned. we must assure the three others slain via the drone attack we in some way Taliban also.

Pakistan officials report that Wali-ur-Rehman (left), deputy head of Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), is among at least four senior Taliban militants killed in a US drone strike. Photograph: Saood Rehman/EPA
"....analysts say Rehman has been in charge of much of its activities, particularly planning and ordering attacks. He was the alleged mastermind of the bombing of the Marriott Hotel in Islamabad in 2008 that killed more than 50 people. In 2009, Pakistan offered a bounty for anyone who captured him, dead or alive."
We published the following post in October 2011. We are certain the number of former Al Qaeda and Taliban increased in 2012. However, we did not track the deceased terrorist (enjoying their martyrdom) effectively enough report numbers and names.

The Progressive Influence: A Commander-in-Chief for Turbulent Times

While we addressed the following successful operation of "going after terrorist", it is important that we give top billing accordingly.

We realize some may feel, why even "chase the FoxPEN* dragon."  We chase the dragon because, believe it or not , there are people who actually absorbed misinformation and lies while watching Fox News and immediately run off to Left leaning web sites, progressive FaceBook pages and the domain of the elderly Aol and Yahoo message boards. Fortunately Twitter and Tumlr are simply way to 'out there" as to operational ease for the Fox News crowd.

Fox News Number one (1) propagandist, Sean Hannity, speaks with Liz Cheney about the asinine headline posted above.  Now, would someone tell us what beyond belief in the Tooth Fairy qualifies Liz Cheney to speak on any topic?

Fox News viewers simply have to see the "light of day" on this segment. Nonetheless, they accept the propaganda as  entertainment that feeds their hatred of Barack Obama and feeds their jingoist lust for gun fire and armed conflict.

Crazy Liz Cheney Accused Obama of Abandoning A Country That Doesn’t Exist

On September 17, 2012, in Politics, by Ezra Grant

Liz Cheney repeated the falsehood that President Obama has apologized to our enemies and abandoned Czechoslovakia, which hasn’t existed since 1992.
During a panel on ABC’s This Week, host Jake Tapper asked the daughter of the former vice president if she agreed with Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s assertion that [President] Obama was “sympathizing” with the people who attacked the U.S. embassy in Libya and killed Ambassador Chris Stevens and other Americans.
“I think he did get it right,” Cheney insisted. “We’ve now had three and a half years of Obama policy and it looks an awful lot like — whether you’re talking about the Mexico City speech in 2009, the Cairo Speech in 2009, the extent to which he’s been apologizing for America, he’s abandoned some of our key allies like Israel, Poland, Czechoslovakia. He’s attempted to appease our enemies, the Iranians, for example, the Russians. … The president himself has got a terrible record on national security, and it’s clearly something that Gov. Romney ought rightly to be pushing.”
“Terrible record on national security?”  Not quite.  (Linked to www.barackobama.com)
