Fox News Facilitator Defends Use Of "Public Hangings" Jargon

Documented US Lynchings

Earlier today we posted a piece with reference to FOX News as and propaganda an entertainment network. One should only hope the network is as reality TV as Atlanta Housewives, or the former Seinfeld (if you abhor or cannot relate to the metaphorical reference to the African-American dominate Atlanta Housewives).

As we reviewed a few Facebook posts think of the happenstance of running across a segment in support of the "public-hanging" Cindy Hyde-Smith for Mississippi Senatorial candidate?

As the Fox Host says..we bring it out to the couch.....

It is important to remember, there are millions in the nation whose family history may include lynchings as a means of Jim Crow suppression of African-Americans.  Actually, there is quite possibly an equal number of non-African-Americans who may find family history which includes the death of a member via the rope.  Of particular note, Abe Lincoln ordered the largest public hanging in US History and it was perpetrated against a group of Native Original North Americans. In all fairness, Lincoln also commuted the sentences of 264 native inhabitants via the same order. Nonetheless, the use of the words public hangings (AKA Lynchings) shouldn't find its way into any news or entertainment network. Unless, of course, the network is feeding a political base or viewership which finds the image acceptable.

Yet, Fox isn't Trump's only communications division. Sinclair Broadcasting is an equal member of the Trump media brigade and has greater potential for reaching you your neighbors, your kid, and your pastor. Watch and listen as one of Trump's Russian-born communications ministers spread the Trump gospel. The following segment has been broadcast in 24 new markets and could reach as many as two hundred within the next couple of days. what follows is pure propaganda and misinformation comparable to any created by the late Joseph Goebbels.

Alas, Fox News managers and producers are feeding the Right with doses of similar propaganda for so-called US Christians. Oh yes, and deliver the message with a bit of color.

A Whitening Of A Nation

If diseases are not stopped; they spread

The ugly difference between the GOP and growing diversity in the United States.

What follows isn't pretty but as time passes through the era of Trump we must realize we cannot avoid criticism of "the ugly."  Let's start with a cover of the New Yorker Magazine November 19, 2018

Image may contain: 1 person, drawing
The artwork cover via Barry Blitt's  captioned: "Welcome to Congress from a piece written by

Here is a much more clear example of the image above. The piece is from Patheos dot com and linked here.

Bottom line: Leavenworth County Commissioner Louis Kemp, a white Republican, told an African American woman that he was “part of the master race.”

(Image via Twitter)

you didn't read the Patheos piece linked above, re-consider. The HIll also published a piece on the ill-advised yet revealing comments. To be fair the offensive Commissioner was relating two people (one white and one black) to "master race" association based on the reality they both have gaps in their teeth. The real issue is the deep-rooted mental slippage from people who are of the political Right. The Hill's piece regarding Kemp is linked here.  A joke is not a joke when it should never cross the boundaries of one's lips. If kept in the brain and never uttered the innate racist could very well exist in a non-discovered state.

This joke thing; let's take another look and listen.

How about Mississippi State Senators "joke" about a public hanging.  It is important to remember the State of Mississippi is the undisputed co-leader among states of public lynchings of black people between 1877 and 1950. If per capita killings by hanging et fits your discernment Florida remains the per-capita leader
The Daily Kos has published Hyde-Smith may have taken campaign money from a white supremacist group.
Are we taking this criticism a bit too far? I think not. watch and hear another great GOP [tcoam as he openly declared white civilization is the base core of humankind. In Mid-July 2016 during the Republican National Committee Conference debate. MSNBC made the mistake of allowing Iowa's Steve King on its air with the woefully inexperienced show host Chris Hayes.

Two minutes in the history of the US and the GOP which stands as a moniker right-leaning social and political ideology. King's party has yet to condemn and disavow his remarks and his constituency continue to elect King with all white supremacy in full bloom.

When I look at the opening New Yorker image (above), the reality of the image is also grounded in media which supports and feeds the perception of what was once portrayed in the quip: "White is right" or "White is Right" In either case the Party on the Right is a playing field for growing US racism, bigotry, and intolerance. Without supportive media, the party on the Right would be far less successful in promulgating increasing US racism, and the overt cases of hate-based violence.

A recent piece from Media Matters illustrates how one specific Fox News host seems to have devolved into a cesspool of racism and white supremacy. Tucker Carlson via Patheos.

Our purpose in developing the pieces wasn't to leverage past US history as a means to an end via ugly data depictions. Our purpose, if you actually need clarification, is more in the realm of delineating growing acceptance of US racism and bigotry via a political party and millions who support that party.

Megyn Kelly Fired at NBC

Image result for kelly and O'reilly pepper spray a vegetable Image result for kelly and O'reilly pepper spray a vegetable

A few months ago, maybe a year ago, NBC hired Megyn Kelly after she departed Fox News, As Kelly left the home of US conservatism and the penultimate purveyor of doctored videotape and Right-wing propaganda, I wonder why would NBC even dare employee Kelly. I wonder f her debate challenges to Donald Trump in that one debate question was behind yet another very poor NBC management staffing decision.

Did that brief interchange lead to a post-Fox New contract rumored to be worth almost $70 million over the life of the document?

Kelly's media history follows that a few Fox New personalities who we often find archived across the Internet.  Example.

Related image
Well, yes and I have to wonder how Fox News male hosts secure initial interest as they sought employment at the Murdoch/Ailes network.

As time passed and we ran across examples of Kelly serving as an on-camera attorney weapon for the likes of Bill O'Reilly, her real value to Fox News became apparent.

Watch and listen as Kelly served that role for O'Reilly.

I suppose fulfilling a lucrative contract includes making a fool of one's self before visits to the bank.

Well, Kelly was fired from NBC News today after foraying into an on-camera conversation which found her seeming to defend the use of blackface; by whites at..say Halloween. Which brings us back to the decision to hire Kelly.

Do you recall her 2013 on-air comments along with four centered guests in response to a young black journalist's effort to deracialize the spirit of Santa by offering the prospect of black Santa to kids?

Yet Kelly's on-air insanity and deep-rooted biases were available for scrutiny far more than a rational person would expect; even from a Fox News host.

Do you wonder why NBC management hired Kelly?

Media Matters posted a piece regarding the ill-advised choice of Megyn Kelly and NBC. Linked.

As Trump's World Turns: A Day In The Life

After the HurricanesImage may contain: one or more people, meme and text

The Daily Lies

Is this lie 5557 or lie 5558 in less than two years in office?

The Mob

Across the propaganda spectrum, Trump and his party have developed and deployed a new strategy as we move towards the fa elections. Portraying the left as a 'mob' bent on violence has evolved as a counter as Trump's growing public zaniness manifests.

While using congressional offices protest and restaurant harassment as monikers of null violence we are seeing more actual violence from the right.

Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Scott Wagner offered a Facebook Live post threat to his candidate, Tom Wolf.

The Loop
“Well, Governor Wolf, let me tell you what, between now and Nov. 6, you better put a catcher’s mask on your face, because I’m going to stomp all over your face with golf spikes.”

Violence on the Left?

Violence from the Right exists well beyond the stupidity of baby boomer nut cases who fail to exercise judgment when using social media.  Trump supporters who brandish a moniker of "Proud Boys", are under investigation for a New York City melee (attack) against left-wing protesters. The Antifa protesters were not free of complicity in the attack.

Newsweek published a piece regarding last weekend's attack.  While Newsweek was published about the violent attack, the Proud Boys leader, Gavin McInnes, proclaimed significant support within the New York City Police Department.

Yesterday NYC Police stated the investigation and interest in arresting nine members of The Proud boys as well as three Antifa members.

Social media again strikes with names associated with faces:

Notice the ever-present white poser sign? It sees Mr. Roberts didn't apply the sign as well as his brethren.  I wonder why.

Despite complicity from the Antifa, Trump's claim of violence from the Left is mere strategy along the same line as GOP politics since the days of Richard Nixon: Fear of the Left and offering fright pills to white people.

It should be noted McInnes has been a frequent guest o Fox News and Trump's number one Fox News adviser, Sean Hannity, has hosted McInnes at more frequently than other Fox News hosts. Surprised? Media Matters offers yet another perspective on Fox News and its role in Trump's growing authoritarianism. Hannity is a demagogue whose mission in life is earning millions via media ratings (viewers and listeners) while serving as an adviser to the president.  Hannity and McInnes here.

As a non-Fox News viewer, I cannot attest to how Hannity is promulgating the new "mob" strategy.  Yet, I suspect he has been at the forefront of the use of the word "mob" against the Left.

And then there is this....."Bullying"

“Federal Judge throws out Stormy Daniels lawsuit versus Trump. Trump is entitled to full legal fees.” Great, now I can go after Horseface and her 3rd rate lawyer in the Great State of Texas. She will confirm the letter she signed! She knows nothing about me, a total con!

The highlighted word above was highlighted by The Pardu of this webpage.  It is a stark reminder of the lowest level of being we have sitting in the Oval Office and guiding a nation.  Trump typed the word "Horseface" regarding a woman he allegedly paid for sex. Moreover. I believe his wife went here last Friday. (Please excuse the non-use of a video. We work hard to avoid placing Trump's wife on the page, even after she sits for an interview.)
“I could say I’m the most bullied person in the world,” adding when pressed, “One of them—if you really see what people are saying about me.”

As Trump's World Turns: Two Cable News Networks Avoid Trump Raliies

Image result for trump carnival man
What follows is a Washington Post video brief of Trump's rally in Montana. The full rally is reported by rational media to have been nothing shy of zany and erratic. Washington Post published this Jonathan Capeheart opinion piece regarding the Oozfest.

If you think back t the last time you heard a US President deliver such reality TV comedy and personal self-direct unctuousness consider sharing the name of the president. I suggest you will spend many hours reading or viewing video; I also believe you will come up empty-handed while considering the time spent as craziness on your part. You knew better when you read the challenge.

Trump/ss performance rallies simply validate the reality of a person who won the US presidency via the psyches of celebrity worshipping sycophants and the nation's voter apathy. Apathy in 2016 supported by Putin's cyber tricksters and GOP/TN success at suppressing votes.

So Trump's ushers his team around the nation thrilling audiences with utter nonsense and narcissistic diarrhea.  He performs as such while his Korean carnival act unravels due to a lack of real substance and secret talks. His tickles audiences while alienating historic US economic and military allies with parallel suckling-up (spelling intentional) to international dictators and strongmen. Alas, he entertained in Montana while his Homeland Security ICE depfamilying force is failing to reunite immigrant children with their parents.  Some parents have been deported. And he entertained the Montana worshippers via disparaging two US war heroes, racial profiling Elizabeth Warren and poking fun at a movement  (#Metoo) which has proven effective in revealing man physical abuse of women. While his tariff retaliation starts to reach into our wallets and serves, he entertains.

He entertains.....

He entertains...The US Presidency isn't this:

Entertainment isn't worth the letters of the word without visibility and coverage. The carnival barker is relegated to a meandering fool when the cameras are not present. Two cable news networks have taken steps to relieve its viewers of Trump's rally performances. Apparently, CNN and MSNBC network executives and producer sentiment fall in the realm of: 'Why bother and We are better than the coverage." In more simple terms, if we ignore the spoiled kid, he may modify his antics.

Of course, there is one major cable network which not only will continue to offer Trump's carnival acts, the network reaps the reward of serving as Trump's state TV; a status which guarantees rating revenues and happy viewers.

Media Matters

The excerpt image (below) regarding hours and minutes coverage comparison is accompanied by another telling graphic. The article also shows the extent to which Trump receives millions in free advertising via Fx News. Of course,e you know Trump recently hired a fired Fox News executive: Shine. A cast-off from years of sexual abuse charges and out of court settlements at the network.
Kudos to CNN. Why does MSNBC even bother?

Trump's Creeping Authoritarianism

Image result for authoritarian governance
If you can continue to deny Trump's overt maneuvers to instill authoritarian governance in the US you are truly suffering from a case of unable to discern reality.

You may be an unwitting facilitator of life in the US comparable to life in societies where autocratic leaders wield all power (and corruption).

Take a quick peep at how via the 2016 election we have effective transform the US Presidency into the leading role of a reality TV show.

The Justice Department

Image may contain: 2 people, text

OK, we elected him, now let's consider a reminder of how the autocrat administers governance.  Before we move to an MSNBC video segment with ALL-IN's Chris Hayes, ask yourself a question. Do you really believe the US Justice Department is an "at-will; at-whim" entity for Trump to order around dictate to and generally serve as an overseer?  Think in terms of German mid-1920s.

Image may contain: 1 person, text

The Media
If you know anything about autocratic leaders you know they view an open and free press (media) as an enemy of the state to be discredited and turned to a national communications division of the autocrat's regime.

“Let me control the media and I will turn any nation into a herd of pigs” – Nazi Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels used words as a weapon to facilitate the agenda of his maniacal leaders: Adolf Hitler. As tragically historic as the words appear, they continue today as a basis of ideology for millions across the globe while generally (albeit unconscionably so) a tool used against millions in the United States.

Image result for joseph goebbels on the pressIn 2016 CBS's Leslie Stahl sat for an on-camera interview with Trump. Stahl straight-up asked Trump why he attacks the media. His answer was both startling, telling yet no surprise. (video link 9:52 minutes)
"I said, 'You know, that is getting tired. Why are you doing this? You're doing it over and over. It's boring and it's time to end that,'" Stahl said on stage alongside "PBS Newshour anchor Judy Woodruff.
  • "He said, 'You know why I do it? I do it to discredit you all and demean you all so when you write negative stories about me, no one will believe you.' He said that," Stahl told the audience, adding, "So, put that in your head for a minute."
What better way to control the nation.s collective thinking than a weaponized media. Hence, the long-standing propaganda value of Fox News, and the more pervasive effect of News operations like Sinclair News. Of course, AM radio is the domain of conservative demagogues. And guess who sits as their target? The question is rhetorical.

The following is a mere example of how mind-altering media demagogues work to shape the psyches of their viewers or listeners.  Let me state before the embed. There are money managers and producers at Fox News who know fell well Trump's strategy regarding FBI "spies" is pure deflection and defense strategy.

How about this action for evidence of total disregard for a free and open press?

To keep this post short, let's hold on other issues which seem to serve to identify growing authoritarianism from the Right.

Texas Shooting And More Perfunctory Remarks

At least ten killed in a Texas school shooting.

As we move through our quarterly school shooting killings it is tragic to watch a party which so supports unfettered guns in the hands of darn near anyone seek to cover their ideology. Trump has spent this morning with a clear effort to share the horror of the killings by reflecting on administrations  ("decades now")well before his time in the Oval Office. How crass, how cheap and how superficial?
Trump called the shooting “a horrific attack.”
“This has been going on too long. Too many years and decades now,” “We will be with you forever.”
As they is always the case before the days is over Republicans will be on television responding to questions with: "Now is not the time to talk about guns (control)."

Now a few perfunctory Twitter remarks from Trump and company.

 Donald J. Trump

Hannity Blames Media For Giuliani FUBAR; Trump Speaks

Watch as Sean Hannity backtracks his decision to have fumble mouthed Rudy Giuliani on his show. As is the case with Hannity and his producers, the onus is on media, not their decision to host the Paleozoic Era conservative and former New Your City Mayor.

We are of the opinion, Trump via his recently hired "attorney" seems to have staged the comments on Hannity's show.  Others feel Giuliani went rogue. In either case, his comments did not seem to have been considered beyond Trump and himself. Therefore a big bundle of poor judgment which will haunt Trump as he moves closer to the final battle with the Special Counsel.

To the point of this post; Hannity is ridiculous.

Apparently, over the course of 48 hours, Trump and his communications team (including Hannity) have developed a strategy.  As of this minute, Trump has appeared on the South Lawn of the White House and issued a statement to the press (media).  The comments were not issued on live camera, but I am hearing his remarks gave the impression Giuliani was offline and off base (rogue) in his remarks.

Trumps. planned remarks as such. It is sad that this guy has been moved to Chicken Little with every word (now) considered a lie (at least for me). Remarks in part.

CNN Guest Contributor's Ridiculous Scott Pruitt Defense

Our piece has a primary focus on how one conservative CNN contributor handled his time on air during Pruitt's Congressional hearing appearances of yesterday.  We find it truly amazing the extent to which conservative paid talking-heads follow scripts which seem to be developed overnight and as timely as necessary for addressing the daily blunders and Keystone Copish nature of the Trump Administration. I personally heard the phrase "character assassination" twice on yesterday.

Before we probe the CNN segment, consider a bit of background on Pruitt's days in office. Consider visiting the Media Matters page for a more detailed review of what some consider scandalous or potentially scandalous (and as a minimum abuse of office).

Image result for scott pruitt scandals

Trump's EPA Head, Scott Pruitt, is under heavy scrutiny due to what many rational Americans would consider abuse of office, abuse of power and violations of ethics (while in office).

One week ago Media Matters published a detailed list of Pruitt scandals since taking office. As the EPA head has been in office less than two years, the list is almost unbelievable and seems to have a very active archiving life cycle; it continues to grow through last week.

A few examples include:
  • February 24, 2017, KOKH: Pruitt lied to senators about his use of a private email account.
  • May 17, 2017, ThinkProgress: An EPA appointee appeared to violate Trump's ethics order on lobbyists.
  • June 16, 2017, Bloomberg: Pruitt met with oil executives at Trump’s D.C. hotel, then backed away from a regulation on oil companies.
  • September 26, 2017, Wash. Post: Pruitt spent about $43,000 on a private soundproof booth, violating federal spending law.
  • September 27, 2017, Wash. Post: Pruitt spent $58,000 on charter and military flights.
  • February 11, 2018, Wash. Post: Pruitt spent $90,000 on first-class flights and other travel in a single week.
  • February 13, 2018, CBS News: Pruitt flew luxury business class on a foreign airline.
  • March 6, 2018, Wash. Post: EPA awarded a bug-sweeping contract to a business associate of Pruitt’s head of security.
  • March 28, 2018, Politico: EPA signs research agreement with firm tied to GOP megadonor Sheldon Adelson.
  • March 29, 2018, ABC News/Bloomberg: Pruitt paid below-market rent for a condo co-owned by the wife of an energy lobbyist
  • March 30, 2018, CNN: Taxpayers paid for Pruitt’s 24/7 security detail during his personal trips to Disneyland and the Rose Bowl.
  • April 3, 2018, The Atlantic: The White House told Pruitt he could not give two of his closest aides a pay raise, but he used a loophole to do it anyway.
  • April 5, 2018, CBS News: Pruitt asked to use vehicle siren during non-emergency, reassigned staffer who objected.
  • April 6 and 9, 2018, Wash. Post/The Atlantic: Doubts cast on Pruitt’s claim that he did not approve controversial pay raises
  • April 21, 2018, NY Times: Pruitt’s partners in ethically questionable behavior in Oklahoma now work for him at EPA.
Pruitt spent the majority of today in two hearings before members of Congress. While one hearing was void of representatives from the GOP, media reports Democrats grilled him as if he stole their office desk chairs.

As the day unfolded CNN covered the Pruitt sandals and today's hearings. Network producers followed their broadcast model via bookinga liberal contributor and a conservative contributor, Stephen Moore and liberal contributor Joan Walsh, for remote commentary with Erin Burnett. From the beginning of the segment (introductions), Moore appeared a bit uneasy and well different than his frequent early interview smiles and grins. His mission was twofold and he knew Donald Trump was watching the show while consuming a Diet Coke. While I am certainly well versed in the day's talking points, he went about his mission with the courage of the most dedicated of propagandists. The mission: defend Pruitt via focusing on Pruitt as an innocent victim of a liberal smear campaign while deflecting back to the Obama Administration with full-blown false equivalence.

Sadly his mission embodied expectations from the Trump White House and point-counterpoint from CNN producers as a viewer entertainment segment.

Watch and listen as Moore deploys the "character assassination" of Scott Pruitt strategy based on his anti-climate change beliefs and administration. He actually attempted to equate the number (and amount) of Pruitt's finances abuses with a weird (seemingly from the White House) analogy to Obama administration expenditures on climate conferences.
Moore didn't seem to make one point throughout the segment which didn't (via ridiculous examples) seem to offer more shame related to Pruitt's scandals.  It is impossible to explain and excuse the inexcusable.

If you viewed the full interview you witnessed a few examples of a society devolving to ruin via on-camera rationalizing political malfeasance and abuse coupled with a major news network staging predictable ideology segments with no purpose beyond viewer ratings: an advertisers dream.
