Jon Stewart On Fox And Ferguson With Salon And Joan Walsh As A BackDrop

Ferguson’s booming white grievance industry: Fox News, Darren Wilson and friends

White defenders of officer Darren Wilson are raising money by slandering Mike Brown, with some help from Fox News

(Piece linked via title above ...good read)

Now I know why I haven't run across video of Jon Stewart's take of coverage of the Mike Brown murder in Ferguson Missouri; Stewart has been on vacation.  Fox News coverage mirrors the sentiment of a minority in the nation: "Brown was a big kid who (allegedly ) stole from a Quick Trip, and was a candidate for shooting."

If you have four minutes, I offer the perfect example. We apologize in advance for featuring a segment with one of Fox News's most "dingle-berry" host, but it is what it is and the reason Fox has Doocy on air.

Media Matters

If that wasn't enough to pique your interest in the propaganda of "white grievance," Salon offers a cogent screed related to the extent to which 'white defense' and rationalization" on behalf of the executing officer.

Media Matters has reported on the lack of veracity of the following image of one Internet blogger.  The image is supposedly an image of Darren Wilson's "broken eye-socket." After some very basic sleuthing, the image was found to have origin in Iowa. Ferguson is in Missouri.  Take a look.

Salon

Then we saw right-wing blogger Jim Hoft, named “the dumbest man on the Internet” by Media Matters, peddling a phony X-ray or CT scan purporting to show that Wilson suffered a fractured eye socket scuffling with Brown. Unfortunately, a little sleuthing revealed the image in question came from a facility at the University of Iowa and had nothing to do with the Ferguson case. Oops. Of course Fox ran with the story, but ABC News also reported that Wilson had suffered a “serious facial injury,” claiming its own local source.

Did you notice above efforts, via redaction,to either comply with HIPAA laws or efforts to hide the true origin of the image? In either, case the blogger referred to by Media Matters as: “the dumbest man on the Internet”, published an outright lie that led to days of argument and comment about Wilson phony damaged eye-socket.

CNN eventually reported their was no damage to Wilson's eye socket. And, we will leave that point right there. We will leave with a question why do so many on the Right literally lie, and why do so many on the Right accept the lies without question?

Back to Jon Stewart and his take of Fox News coverage of the past two weeks and the aftermath of a literal murder perpetrated by a cop.

Does anyone on the Right recognize, their media lies on a daily basis. If conservative media (especially internet social media) lies and national media follows the lie. The same people will lie about anything and everything to secure the vote. If they lie with the ultimate mission proliferation a nation in their image, does anyone question what conservative politicians have done to the nation over the past 60 years?

Addictinginfo: FBI Audio, Mike Brown Murder

Repost from Addictinginfo

FBI Obtains New Audio Of Ferguson Shooting; Darren Wilson Should Be Worried (VIDEO)

AUTHOR AUGUST 26, 2014 10:44 AM

The FBI has obtained new audio allegedly recording the exact moment that Darren Wilson began shooting Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. The recording captures at least 11 gunshots, six of which we know hit Brown. Perhaps most devastatingly, it features a notable pause between the first seven and the last four shots. What made Wilson stop shooting? And more importantly, why did he start firing again?

The audio was captured by a witness who happened to have a video chat open with a friend. The microphone picked up the gunshots while he was having an ordinary conversation.

“He was in his apartment, talking to a friend on a video chat,” the resident’s attorney, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN. “He heard loud noises and at the time, he didn’t even realize the import of what he was hearing until afterwards, and it just happened to have captured 12 seconds of what transpired outside of his building.”

The FBI will now be looking into whether it can independently verify what is being heard on the tape. Should the recording prove to be authentic – and we have no reason to think it shouldn’t be – then it may open up a new series of questions for Officer Darren Wilson to explain.

According to the Ferguson Police Department’s account of what happened, Brown was charging at Wilson and the officer consequently opened fire in fear for his safety. The recording seems to tell a slightly different story. The first seven shots are heard in quick succession. Because given the autopsy report we know only five of the 11 shots fire missed Brown, at least some of those had to have hit the teen. The next four shots came after an definite pause. Whether Brown had originally been charging or running away, it suggests he was no longer a threat. Why else would Wilson stop shooting? The next four shots – likely at least one of those being the fatal shot to the top of the head – came at a much more leisurely pace – hardly what you would expect if the officer’s life was in danger.

Here is CNN’s Don Lemon breaking the story, along with the 12 second audio:

The Ferguson resident’s lawyer seemed to come to the same conclusion many others had: The pause is suspect.

“I was very concerned about that pause … because it’s not just the number of gunshots, it’s how they’re fired,” the man’s attorney, Lopa Blumenthal, told CNN’s Don Lemon. “And that has a huge relevance on how this case might finally end up.”

Lawrence O'Donnell And The Shame Of The New York Times. Also "I Will F_ _king Kill You."

The video segment below is a must view. If you read or view nothing beyond the Lawrence O'Donnell segment, that is your choice. If you fail to give O'Donnell a viewing you are enabling both bad police work and you will miss a classic example of "media by the authorities."  The articles referenced by O'Donnell isn't worthy of linking on the TPI. The level of unprofessional reporting and slanted "copy" would not pass the scrutiny of Journalism students at a Junior College in a town of 5,000. Yet editors at the New York Times passed the article on for publish and "salting" the minds of those who do not question US media.

Bad Reporting via a Storied International Newspaper.

I could spend an hour writing in opine about the O'Donnell piece. There is little need to opine beyond what follows. When one of the world's most storied newspapers settles of diminutive reporting on the execution style killing of Mike Brown, you have to know the nation is in deep trouble.

I find it impossible to believe the wanton murder of a non-minority 18 year would receive the level of "almost apologetic" coverage as that delivered via the New York Times.

UPDATE: Margaret Sullivan, NYT Public Editor's Journal, screeds on the New York Times "Fumble." Linked here

Act II of police gone bad!

Mike Brown's spirit is showing the extent to which cops have no regard for decency inherent in people they are charged with corralling or herding about.
