The Daily GOP Ignominious: Lies, Misinformation, Fakery

Lies, Misinformation, Fakery Bundled As "Incompetence"

If you are a High Information Voter (HIV), you really must peruse this piece from the Washington Post.

In 263 days, President Trump has made 1,318 false and misleading claims

As of our latest update Oct. 10, 2017, or his 264th day in office, the president has made 1,318 claims over 263 days. He has averaged five claims a day, even picking up pace since the six-month mark. (Our full interactive graphic can be found here.)
The state of Trump is one of lies, misinformation, fakery accompanied by behind the scenes GOP reach back and grabs of times well past.  During last night's The Last Word, MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell, masterfully guided his audience through the Trump pathology of lie after lie, after lie.

Yes, the Trump pathology.  Is it [possible Trump supporters are starting to see through his campaign rhetoric? Are they suffering a form of post-election dissonance? Are they feeling entertained? One can only hope the answer to each question is: "Yes." They are entertained without cable TV fees, but it comes with the real prospect of moving the nation back to a pre-1950s cesspool of social injustice, the risk of nuclear weapons use , indifference to national natural catastrophes, and an apparent lack of concern for our military personnel losses.

While most will never admit to any level of "Trump concern", there is evidence of growing remorse from Trump's base. Just after the 2016 General elections, I read a social media comment which seemed to chide voters about the apparent or claimed, the success of a  "rural vote" election win. Yes, that ever-present rural vote (a euphemism) is time-worn and wrought with danger. We have suffered from the GOP rural vote" in our recent past.  It seems we may be doomed to relive that past with the prospect of worse via Trump.

Th following graphic is noteworthy for a number of reasons, the least of which is the message it imparts. It shows growing dissatisfaction with Trump's leadership after the 2016 General elections. The poll is particularly germane as it was conducted over a four week period among potential respondents who are considered "rural."

It is hard to imagine talk of seven more years of Trump if the poll is accurate. But, let's not end with the chart; let's visit with the Reuters's piece and the story of a 70 year old retired banker who, joined many other high end Baby Boomers in their dream of "taking their country back." Huckabee Joins Hannity in Misleading Fox Viewers

The Progressive Influence frequently includes pieces about Fox News's consistent broadcast of misleading hosted exhibitions some may call news shows.  Yesterday's posts were no exception, at least two posts focused on the fallacy of Fox as a news network. Hannity drew top billing in yesterdays posts and he is highlighted in the Crooks and Liars piece linked below.

Fox News is not about the business of News. The network is a veritable propaganda machine for the latest GOP cause (of the day) and today that cause is the Affordable Care Act. The ACA with a twist of "fewer jobs." As you view the Huckabee segment below notice the perfect shotgun messaging. Messaging that is often well shy of credible.

Of course, Fox will always insert subliminal messaging in broadcasts. The network serves very effectively in reaching the inner psyches of people who tune-in for daily doses of ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome) red meat. Who better to deliver the Fox News brand of propaganda than Sean Hannity? Yet, Hannity does not stand alone. Huckabee runs a close second when it comes to outright misinformation, subterfuge and anti-Administration lies.  Both highly compensated propagandist are chief purveyors of Fox ODS.

When considering ODS, both Hannity and Huckabee share a unique niche on a network that also employees or contracts Host, guests or pundits the follows:

Sarah Palin
Karl Rove
Dick Morris
Steve Doocy
Elizabeth (legs) Hasslebeck
Anna ( Super legs) Kooiman
Gretchen (former legs) Carlson
Bill O'Reilly
Bill Hemmer
Bret Baier
Great Van Sustren
Neil Cavuto
Maria Bartiromo
Dennis Miller
Bernard Goldberg
Brian Kilmeade

While, viewing Fox News even for two minutes is far too much for my liberal paradigm and my moderately progressive psyche, reports of  Fox shenanigans can be entertainingly dangerous to society.  Entertainingly dangerous?

Huckabee provides the perfect example. He entertains audience LIVs (low information voters/people) while thrilling the larger television audience (the ultimate target viewers of Fox's conservative mission). The clip while focused on the Fox anti-ACA mission also touches into Fox's mission regarding of the US economy (jobs). Huckabee and his producers strategically booked a very low information (two degree) guest to tell her story replete with a non-verbal aura of a defeated innocent victim. The C & L analysis of the segment adds fuel to this weeks reports of Hannity's misleading exhibition

Fact-Checking Fox: What Real Journalism Looks Like

Ashley Dionne, a recent guest on Mike Huckabee's show, claimed that her insurance premiums would jump from $75 per month to $319 per month for her family. She proclaimed the act to be the "Unaffordable Care Act" and went even further, claiming her future and that of her children had been 'raped.'
Unfortunately, someone forgot to mention to Ashley that her premiums were offset with subsidies, so she would really pay $223 per YEAR as well as receiving assistance with copayments. Oops.
Last Friday Sean Hannity hosted a special on how the Affordable Care Act is hurting Americans. It's a claim we hear every day from Ted Cruz on down to your average right wing Twitter troll. Every time I hear it, I wonder how it is even possible that so many are in so much pain over a law that opens up the health insurance market to everyone.
Evidently I'm not the only one with those questions. Eric Stern, a former aide to Montana Governor Brian Schweitzer and one of the key people involved in Montana's exchange, took a hard look at the "regular people" claiming they were harmed by Obamacare.
Stern called the people who appeared on Hannity's show to get more detail on their stories. Surprise! It seems there was more to every single one.

Did you notice the danger after viewing the clip and reading the Crooks and Liars analysis?  If you did not recognize the overwhelming propaganda perpetrated by Huckabee and his producers, you should check it out again.  You might be susceptible to misleading messages easily assimilated in your scope of knowledge; messages based on misinformation.

Fox News managers and producers know most people lock into paradigms and do not expose themselves to the rigors of seeking information to validate other information. The network has a  fertile garden that will yield produce. We frequently accept what we have read or heard as fact. The process is analogous to a set of building blocks.  After years of building a misinformation foundation, accompanied by right-wing radio hosts, Fox simply broadcast blocks of misinformation towards a growing base of people who take their misinformed paradigms to voting places.  The Danger!

Misinformation, Lies, Fox News, GOP and Fact Checker

As the barrage of lies and misinformation from the political Right churns on like an oozing 1950's "The Blob," we thought we'd visit Fact Check Dot Org for a 2012 year old update on just how the Right goes about 'working your mind. But, first an acknowledgement of one of our greatest: Steve McQueen starred in The Blob."

An excerpt of the beginning of a now archived case of the sleazy kind of a guy on Fox News called Steve McQueen   A reader of Fact Check stated his/her  communication (issue)  as follows.

Subject: Obama quietly tramples the first amendment
I truly thought this was a joke until I watched the short video of Judge Napolitano. Here is another law that separates citizens from the President. (See full question below).
If you visit the TPI  from time to time, you and I both know the credibility of any paid speaker on Fox News. We are posting this piece as a perfect example, you do not have to be a contracted show host to suffer from "Low Cred,' which is endemic to Fox News. We also want to archive the case here in the TPI. This may be one piece you chose to peruse peripherally.

Here is the full story from Fact Checker.  Remember, this work is over a year old, but it clearly shows the extent to which highly paid conservative pundits serve as propagandist.

Steve Who? Fox What? war on women? Stimulus? = Fantasy Land

A P/R spokesperson and a network authorized to misinform!
As a matter or practice I rarely miss a morning of Media Matters headline stories.   There are few Internet and communication related monitoring forces (entities) in America.  I not only find frequent reports on the insane and inane ranting of the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Michelle Maulkin, the site allows quick access to all things FOX News.

Fox News should be monitored on a daily basis for reasons actually decided  and adjudicated as legal by our Court Systems. In 2010, CeaseSpin.org published a piece on an Appeals Court Decision which for legal purposes allows networks to "in effect lie about news stories".  Let's take a ride back in time for a legal backdrop of why it is so easy for Fox News to distort and lie about news stores. In fact, the Florida case has set a foundation for the Fox News business model, which millions subscribe to and follow on a daily basis.

Poll Shows.... Reasons to Get Your News From Multiple Sources.

I received an email announcement related to the following linked article and pasted information.  The email announcement was from a blog that I have grown to often view.  You will find articles from the blog on the Talent Place for Special People page, on this website; posted on another website also, www .thepardu .wordpress .com.

I thought I would share the information after reading the linked blog, and thinking about how the media impacts us everyday and most certainly influenced the 2008 and 2010 elections.   Of more importance; how information will influence the critical vote in 2012. The World Public Opinion article ,Voters Say Election is Full of Misleading Information will leave the reader with an impression worth serious contemplation.  (See at end of this article).
