Politics 2012: Cain...Planned Parenthood?

The Talking Man.....A prelude to disaster

Two hundred and thirty days ago, Herman  Cain 'opened-up' with a comment that was prologue to for his 2011 campaign for the GOP nomination   On March 15, 2001, Cain said the following.

(The video has been disabled for embed by YouTube)

In early 2011 it should have been obvious to all political observers that Cain was going to approach his quest for  the nomination with unadulterated rhetoric.  Actually, allow me to change that word  "rhetoric" to "demagoguery".

Fox News Toning Down? Roger Ailes Public Interview : TROJAN HORSE

(This article is cross posted from and

Roger Ailes, the inimitable one, declares a mellowing Fox News!

September 26, 2011
Comes forth a man who earns a reported $23 million per year, a man who helped elect a few GOP presidents, and a man who has presided over a cast of characters who have practiced ‘television yellow journalism'. Fox News can be categorized in no other way than  ’yellow journalism’.

Politics 2012; "Lindsey Graham: 2012 Election Is GOP's To Lose, 'Everything Is Worse' Under Obama"

How can Lindsey Graham (R) South Carolina, make this claim,
"everything is worse" under President Barack Obama"."This is our election to lose," Graham told Candy Crowley on CNN's "State of the Union" when asked for his assessment of the GOP candidates and the 2012 race.
This is the problem I have with media like CNN. The network  purports to be middle of the road (not their actual verbiage) but if Crowley did not actively challenge such a claim her journalistic credibility (and that of her producers) should be questioned.

Bachmann Alludes 'Wet People' Allegation

No, Bachmann did not ask a crowd, ‘Who likes white people?’

Article pasted below
COMMENT: The Pardu

As I watched the video referenced below, I suspected that something was not right.  Please make no mistake, I believe that Michelle Bachmann is one who should avoid public politics (at the national level). She is certainly well below the level of mental acuity necessary for the Oval Office. She is a perfect example of right-wing religious zealotry; that alone should place her outside of acceptable for the presidency.

Politics 2012: MSNBC Matthews Fumbles; Saved by RNC Chair

As I watched the first time appearance of RNC Chair, Reince Priebus, on Hardball, I was somewhat taken aback at his level robotic 'talking point (ish) ness".  He also appeared capricious to the point of trivial and strikingly less than intellectual in his responses to Matthews.

Americans are starving for authentic leadership", became the repeated message from Priebus  who is primarily charged with raising money for the GOP and a provider of some level of guidance in the party's goals.  Is it possible that the current RNC Chair thinks said 'leadership' is possible from the names posted at the end of this article?

As I watched and opined about the political environment in the United States over the past three years, I will admit to complete disdain for the bombastic Michael Steele as RNC Chair.  Steele often came across as 'all knowing', at times seemingly irrational in his comments, and sickening lofty in his approach to the RNC Chair role, yet he maintained an intellectual competence and effective communication skills.  Steele was also not one to mince his words and was never caught without a retort to interviewers (even if the retort was nothing more than a quip).  He  (Steele) never 'ducked' a question.

Politics 2012: Herman 'citizen' Cain

A Fool's Gold

Admiration and contempt come to mind when I think of  Herman Cain.  Where do you stand on the continuum from admiration________________to___________________ contempt?

Cain has a corporate background that clearly places him in a league of its own. As an African-American professional, Cain reached lofty levels in a Corporate America; a place that is sparsely populated by other than white men.  He served as CEO and Chairman of Godfather Pizza for an unusually long period: 1988 - 2003. "Unusually Long period," most CEOs do not serve at the top spot for as long as 15 years.  They are either replaced for any number of reasons, or they 'golden parachute' themselves off into the realm of the mega-wealthy where the most stringent exertion is contemplation, and execution of a golf swing.  Mr. Cain also served a few years as head of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Missouri.

Without further looking into Cain's professional background, I can surmise that he is well-educated, tough-minded, and a corporate political 'whiz'.

Please excuse this pessimistic opine.
