"Crisis Actors" Via Your Right-wing Propaganda Machine

Pants on Fire!

It is truly sad and disgusting when mind-shapers, propagandist and Trump presstitutes turn a national tragedy into an opportunity to advance an agenda. As of early this week, conservatives have offered a flat-out lie that survivors of the Parkland mass killing are "crisis actors" People paid to appear during times of crisis and espouses views contrary to conservative ideology (regarding guns and gun control).

Russia Today Reporter Resigns Due To Truth In Reporting

Despite American right-wing "love of Putin," we suggest Putin's leadership in the region is showing signs of Cold War callousness and insanity. When the Russia Today (RT) reporters continue via resignation to extract themselves from Russian propaganda, the world must pay attention.

Evidence of Putin's imperialist ambitions and his obvious longing for life akin tot he former Soviet Union, is ever-present and growing. Despite, the Russian leaders 'dirty skirt", US conservatives are on record with admiration.

The Daily Show

Jon Stewart captures a few right-wing propagandist while oozing over Putin. We have to remember, these are multi-millionaire media personalities paid handsomely to broadcast against the US president and progressive America. We never heard one complimentary word from the Right regarding Putin during years in which he shared leadership of a nation along with Bush "W."  Not one word of disparagement!

Along with American oozing over the Russian leader, we continue to experience reports for Russian media (outside of Russia) who are separating themselves from reporting they feel is wrong.

A London-based correspondent for state-owned TV network Russia Today resigned Friday to protest the network's coverage of a Malaysia Airlines plane that was shot down over Eastern Ukraine.
Reporter Sara Firth told The Press Gazette, a British publication covering journalism news, that RT's coverage of the crash of MH17 was "the straw that broke the camel's back for me."

Firth told Buzzfeed that she resigned because she the felt the Kremlin-funded news channel was trying to pin the blame for the apparent shooting down of Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 on the Ukrainian government.
“It was the total disregard to the facts. We threw up eyewitness accounts from someone on the ground openly accusing the Ukrainian government, and a correspondent in the studio pulled up a plane crash before that the Ukrainian government had been involved in and said it was ‘worth mentioning’,” Firth explained. “It’s not worth mentioning. It’s Russia Today all over, it’s flirting with that border of overtly lying. You’re not telling a lie, you’re just bringing something up. I didn’t want to watch a story like that, where people have lost loved ones and we’re handling it like that.”
“I couldn’t do it any more. Every single day we’re lying and finding sexier ways to do it.”

While most on the Right do not have recall beyond last week, I wonder if progressive media will remind the nation of the dangers inherent in Right-wing media and conservative politicians who public admire a dictator while disparaging a US president elected by the majority of voters (twice).

As with Civne Bundy, why does the US Right via its media always fail to align and promulgate on the right side of issues?

Media Matters Benghazi Hoax eBook

When was the last time you heard the words Benghazi as an attack item against the Obama Administration? The words have become common mantra from the Right, despite a few important points.

The following meme graphics show the extent to which the world changed for conservative America the minute Barack Obama declared interest in seeking the Democratic nomination in 2006.

A few issues related to Benghazi and embassy attacks need delineation at this point. Attacks on US embassies and consulates date back beyond the most notable invasion and taking of the Iranian Embassy in the late 1970s. As indicated by the memes, embassy and consulate security was an issue long before the Benghazi killings. There are reports Ambassador Stevens refused additional embassy security on three separate occasions once while visiting in Washington DC. We also know the US Congress refused funding for additional embassy security worldwide. Memory may have failed me, but I recall reading Congress denied additional funding or enacted cuts on three separate occasions. Yet, we have a political party using the Benghazi tragedy for political advantage.

What about Benghazi provided conservative and GOP political mantra?

The new Media Matters eBook will answer the question.

After a year of meticulously chronicling the right-wing lies behind the politicization of the American tragedy in Benghazi, Libya, Media Matters for America unveiled the definitive takedown of the Benghazi hoax.

An excerpt of The Benghazi Hoax, an e-book authored by David Brock and Ari Rabin-Havt explaining how the right-wing media turned a night of terror -- but also of valor -- into a phony scandal geared at damaging the Obama administration appeared Monday on Huffington Post:
No one could have imagined how quickly the murder of Stevens and three other Americans would become politicized by a hungry right-wing leviathan of savage punditry and pseudo-journalism. Nor could anyone fathom how the most basic facts would get twisted, contorted, and even invented out of thin air to create bogus narratives -- first to suggest that a U.S. president seeking re-election was incompetent, feckless, or sympathetic to terror, and then, when that faltered, to tarnish the reputation of his secretary of state as the public speculated she might run for president in 2016. Had the Benghazi attack not occurred at this unique moment -- on a day when the Republican candidate for the presidency and his promoters in the conservative media were desperate for a new storyline, especially one that would undercut the popular effect of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden the year before -- this tragedy might not have been converted into a political scandal.
The Benghazi Hoax exposes Mitt Romney's bungled and shocking campaign to use Benghazi in his failed race against President Obama as the attack was still ongoing. The book details 15 Benghazi myths that right-wing media and Republicans in Congress have used in a reprehensible effort to damage the Obama administration and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton -- a campaign that continues to this day.

The New York Times reported that Fox News did not respond when asked to comment on Media Matters' plans to advertise the book on Fox's airwaves:

The Daily Kos Literally "Nails" Right-Wing Propaganda

Media matters published a meme over the weekend that sets the sage for a piece I am going to introduce from The Daily Kos. The meme exemplifies a basis for propaganda and dogma messaging that can and does influence people to a place that is not in their best interest. A place contrary to the person's normal position on issue, or a place diametrically opposite beliefs espoused throughout the person's life.

Conservative America is masterful at mind-altering messaging. As far back as Richard Nixon, the GOP has leveraged its wherewithal in mind-altering messaging wile steadfastly moving the nation Right of Center. Hence, the conservative SCOTUS. We are seeing the epitome of such messaging on a daily basis since Barack Obama took the Oval Office in January 2009.
The Daily Kos recently published a piece that is must reading, viewing  and contemplating. The piece, The-Brainwashing-Of-My-Dad-By-Limbaugh-Fox-GOP-Media, explores via Kickstart documentary a writers personal view of watching the influence of viral Right-wing media on the psyche of a former progressive mind (and family man).

If you are reading here (the TPI), you know our position related to right-wing media, and powerful people who have corralled conservative and libertarian politician into "Solyent Green-like" functionaries. Worse yet, those same mind altering entities have "done a job" on millions while introducing a phenomenon to the American political spectrum.  We now have LIVs (low information voters) who are as dangerous to our society as external military threats.

LIVs are not people who would harm the nation angst. They are people who have subscribed to political thought and paradigm, so influence by right-wing media and 50 years of Republican dogma, they refuse to consider thought outcomes that even remotely approaches  "center of Right or Left."

You know them.  You have them as Facebook 'friends'. I formerly connected to a few; once discovered as low information conservatives the Facebook connection change to an "unfriend" status.  Life is too short to interact with people who would vote for Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan after witnessing the horrors of the 2012 campaign. Anyone who will completely ignore empirical data showing Democrats are much better managers of the US economy is not a person with whom, I care to interact.  If a person cannot see the social implications of a political party that is 92% white (in a nation as divers as the US), the person has accepted a form on intolerance that is a core ideology/axiom of the GOP.

We are going to introduce the Daily Kos (must read) piece via embedding a video from the piece; the piece is linked after the video.

Why Does The GOP Think People Favor of Defunding Obamacare? Karl Rove Polling Again?

".....listen to the American people," Cruz said, "the vote would be 100 to 0 to defund Obamacare." Ted Cruz (R) Texas.

Well, Mr. Delusional data seems to counter your demagoguery.

Huff Post.....http://www.huffingtonpost.com

Five recent surveys of the American public flatly contradict that assertion.
2013-09-30-fundingcutoff2.png
The five surveys show that the percentage of Americans who want to defund Obamacare -- ranging from 37 to 39 percent -- falls well short of a majority, while far more Americans -- between 42 and 56 percent -- oppose eliminating its funding. And none of these questions raised the possibility of a government shutdown or default on the national debt. When the CNBC/Hart-McInturff survey probed with a follow-up question, a mere 19 percent of adults said they favored eliminating funding for the law "even if this meant shutting down the federal government and having the government default on its debts."

Nevertheless, public opinion on the health care law is not easily summarized by a single question. While Americans are reluctant to "defund" Obamacare, a broader look at polling on the law show considerable doubt and, most of all, uncertainty.
 Read much more

As I read through the Huff Post piece, my contempt for the general public was reinforced. There is simply no reason beyond  stubborn ignorance  for people to actually admit they are confused about the ACA. Even worse, people who indicate they just do not have knowledge of the law.  These people are fertile ground and simple fodder for GOP 'dirty tricks', anti-Obama operatives, and right-wing media.

Watch As Income Inequality Grows In The US

We ask the atheist and agnostics to forgive some of our imagery for this post?

Income inequality.....

Regardless of your political and social views, income inequality is a stark and growing reality.  The issue is as serious as national security for you and me. For those who ride the 'high horse' of the Top 20%, their work is to simply maintain earnings at their disproportionate levels and promulgate or support polices that provide a solid base for the disparity.
The Money Brokers

President Obama addressed income inequity as he campaigned in Cleveland Ohio in 2012.

Politifacts  http://www.politifact.com
"Over the last few decades," Obama said early in his 53-minute speech, "the income of the top 1 percent grew by more than 275 percent -- to an average of $1.3 million a year."
Mostly True

The president again addressed income inequality in July 2013 at Galesburg, Illinois.

Politifacts http://www.politifact.com
"The income of the top 1 percent nearly quadrupled from 1979 to 2007, but the typical family’s incomes barely budged," Obama said in the July 24, 2013, speech.
True

As President Obama speaks about growing income inequality and impact on the fabric of US society misinformation flows like Tar Sand oil derivatives from a Keystone pipeline oil spill. While locating the two Political links above, I ran across whole pages of articles focused on refuting the president's statements. From the American Enterprise Institute (aei), Forbes, Fox News, and of all sources Breitbart Dot Com, the list is long. Most of those articles are focused on disputing the president's use of the word "quadrupled".

Mother Jones and the New York Times have published articles with graphics that are irrefutable. In fact, the Mother Jones piece is detailed to the point of leaving questions answered.  The salient point is, why are the aforementioned organizations so diligent in working to refute the irrefutable. Could it be they have an agenda?  Is it possible the uber wealthy, and the lavishly wealthy want less attention to their developing world?  Maybe, they work to keep us in the dark as a form of "blissful ignorance."

The following is a quick graphic journey that ends with a poignant display of income inequity and visual representation of its cancerous development.  Maybe, we should call it the all consuming "black hole" of uber wealthy and the meager existence of the bottom 80 % as pawns.

The research work of a University of Oregon graduate student, John Voorheis, is making the rounds on the internet. The economistsview post includes animated gifs showing how various measures of inequality have changed state by state from 1977-2012:
The map shows the state-by-state changes in a measure of inequality (the gini coefficient), with red being less inequality and green being more inequality.

Think Progress places figurative "thick sweet icing on the cake."

Think Progresshttp://thinkprogress.org/economy.....
Excerpt....
In fact, income inequality has risen in nearly every state over the past three years. During that time, the rich saw their incomes grow, but everyone else actually saw them decline. The top 10 percent of earners now take home half the country’s income, the largest share ever recorded. The trend started in the 1970s, as the richest 20 percent saw incomes grow by $2,550 by the 2000s but the bottom 20 percent saw just $1,330.
Growing income inequality has been fueled by misguided policy. Wall Street deregulation brought big profits, boosting the incomes of the 1 percent who clustered in finance. Changes in the tax code favored capital gains income, or money made through investment instead of through a salary, which boosted the incomes of the rich. And while social spending has helped to keep income inequality lower, the U.S. is set to cut $1.5 trillion in spending over the next decade.

Earlier in this piece we offered a few guesses as to why Right-wing media and right leaning business journal desperately attempt to refute President Obama's comments about society killing income inequality. The data is empirical. Right-wing sniping at minutia regarding the Obama comments is fodder for the "low information" people who are averse to all things Obama. Many of the pieces I referenced focus on how Obama misspoke about income growth for the middle and lower income brackets. The argument was essentially, "the president misspoke."  If Obama misspoke about quadrupling he damned certainly did not misspeak about disparity and society separating economic growth between the nation's Top 20% (ers) and the (you and me) 80% (ers).

If you review The New York Times graph above it is unquestionable, income disparity was inseminated via Ronald Reagan's "supply-side economics (trickle-down economics). Reagan's "cowboy" anti-unionism also contribute greatly to flat-lined trend lines for the middle class. Yet, we have Ronald Reagan's party following their ideology leaders and a cancers Tea Party Caucus in the House in cutting SNAP benefits for millions of Americans.

GOP, The Deficit and "False Mantra"

illustration by Michael HogueOn September 5, 2012 Huffington Post's Bonnie Kavoussi published a piece that spoke volumes about the GOP and what they do not want people to know about the deficit. A deficit that the party "built" almost single handed.  A deficit the party consistently uses as a dog whistle to hook voters and subscribers to GOP mantra. The word "deficit" is as much part of GOP politicking as the words, "food stamps", "liberal", and the word "spending."

Warning: By now you know how I feel about my "journeys." Let's take a journey down a path marked "fiscal sanity." We are going to go a bit "high information." If you wish to remain low information, click-out off the site quickly.

The "Eleven Things" the GOP does not want you to know about the deficit.

In May of this year,  Rachel Maddow ran a lengthy segment about the Deficit as GOP false mantra. The "Sequester" kicked-in in March of this year.

MSNBC February 26th, pre-Sequester
Also in May, Bloomberg ran a segment on the dwindling deficit with accolades for the short term and caution about the long term.

Yesterday Business Week published a piece that pokes holes in GOP use of the deficit for political advantage.

The Shrinking Federal Deficit Hurts a GOP Argument
Is there a need to remind that President Obama was inaugurated to the US Presidency on January, 2009?
Rachel Maddow: GOP Deficit Outrage (2:52 minutes)   http://milkandcookies.com/link/405711

The expositions above speak to the basic premise. Why are people continuing to fall for GOP mantra about the deficit when the deficit is being reducing at records unmatched in recent US History?

While we believe in the individual right to believe what one chooses to believe and for one to do as they wish. Issues arise when the wishes and desires of some reach into the lives of those who choose different belief systems.

If people want to continue to follow the GOP around like minions following a "Pied Piper" which spews false messages, lies and practice surreptitious manipulation of sycophants that is their prerogative.  Major problems arise when they amass to visit the polls with zombie like paradigms and cast votes for people who are so obviously committed to the nation's wealthy.

The following graphics are extracts from a brilliant piece over on The Daily Kos.  Each graphic is link to the Kos.

Much more on The Daily Kos

It is common knowledge people who view Right-Wing Media are "low information" Americans. Low information is as dangerous as flaunting an American Flag in the heart of Somalia, Pakistan or Afghanistan.

Such voters will consistently vote for the GOP, despite the wealth of data that illustrate the fallacy of GOP manta about fiscal conservatism.

Another sad aspect of blind devotion to GOP mantra and policies: the GOP practices bigotry and racism in various forms and when most expedient for the party. But, as with the Harry S, Dent Sr., Kevin Phillips, and Lee Atwater "southern Strategy" the political manipulation of large swaths of the nation leads to racial divisiveness and civil unrest.

O'Reilly Hoodies For Sell? Really?

".....clothing sometimes used by street criminals!" Bill O'Reilly.

Here is the problem with Right-wing media. They are paid millions to feed the appetite of people who tune-in for hefty doses of hate. O'Reilly, Hannity and Limbaugh are classic examples of broadcast without basis in fact while delivering messages to feed sycophants. They deliver their messages with full knowledge their words will land on safe ears with no additional thought or questioning.  If you need the perfect example of such, take a look at a hoodie merchandising product line that might have a connection to Bill O'Reilly.

Let's suppose O'Reilly has nothing to do with the Hoodie sell venture. It is apparent the marketer of the garments spells O'Reilly's last name a bit different that the Fox News demagogue: "O'reilly." (See top of Cafe Press linked page) Wouldn't you think O'Reilly's vast information empire would have knowledge of such garments and garment sells?''

O'Reilly's comment about clothing and street criminals is dis-ingeniousness to keep it simple. Since, we are known for not keeping it simple, let's leave with the thought his comments are typical of one who works at Fox  News. In fact, we have little doubt the garment is worn by large numbers of O'Reilly viewers.  And, those viewers would wear the garment and wallow in O'Reilly's rhetoric even after watching their ideology leader disparage a murdered high school junior.
