"But he is so qualified" (Is He Really?)

I am reading comments from conservatives with the new mantra of "but he is so qualified".

Qualifications is a multi-faceted reality.  Does a documented liar denote a qualification? well, maybe for conservatives and Republicans (specifically )to lie is an admirable and desirable quality.

Does a penchant to step outside the realm of courtesy and expectations also qualify/ We remind of Kavanaugh's posing questions back to Democrat Party Senators and his over the top exhibition of judicial activism?

Watch starting at the 50-second mark......

But let's get t the business of lying in a Senate hearing as it relates to his past alcohol consumption. drinking and his over-the-top love of "beer" is a far lesser concern than the ever-present lie form the nominee.

Brett Kavanaugh's Yale roommate tells @andersoncooper that when he heard his Senate testimony he "knew he was lying."

Outright lies in a judicial confirmation hearing and over and partisan judicial activists comments from the witness has become acceptable via Trumpism.

As Trump's World Turns: Kavanaugh Remarks, Beer And Questions OF Judicial Fitness

Trump Praised A Farcical Senate Appearance

Judge Kavanaugh showed America exactly why I nominated him. His testimony was powerful, honest, and riveting. Democrats’ search and destroy strategy is disgraceful and this process has been a total sham and effort to delay, obstruct, and resist. The Senate must vote!
Yes, and therein lies the problem. A White House official issued a comment before Kavanaugh's opening statement and referred to it as "game-changing." While we do not recommend viewing the full 44:00 minutes of Kavanaugh's Opening remarks, we have linked it here for your perusal: linked.

A key moment in the remarks was as such:
"calculated and orchestrated political hit, fueled with apparent pent-up anger about President Trump and the 2016 election, fear that has been unfairly stoked about my judicial record, revenge on behalf of the Clintons, and millions of dollars in money from outside left-wing opposition groups."
Problem. Didn't Kavanaugh clearly declare himself a judicial activist via those few words? He issued words which do not seem to have been written by a competent and "in control of his faculties" Federal Judge. He offered a Trump-like declaration. He offered an anti-Democrats declaration. and he issues words which came across as child-like and without deep contemplation: "...the Clintons".

For the Opening remarks to an indication of what was to come.  Kavanaugh responded to Senior Committee Member Feinstein (D-CA).

A rant perspective from Michael Beschloss, NBC News US historian:

Kavanaugh rant raises questions about his political impartiality

A minute related to conservative dogma against Justice temperament. Seems the GOP's world started last week. The confirmation of Sotomayor.

While responding to a question from another Democrat Senator, Kavanaugh again showed a lack of preparation, a lack of judgment (from a Judge) and a moment of telling defensiveness.

Brett Kavanaugh likes beer, but not questions about his drinking habits

Beer... (one minute)

Bill Maher in closing ( a bit long but good)

Why is all that is Trump come across as well below the level of acceptable behavior for high office?

Senate Hearing Smorgasbord (The FOUR Stooges)

We are posting this segment from yesterday's hearing first solely based on the manner in which her question was interrupted by the GOP committee Chair. While we have not posted all segments a few Democrat Senators questions the witnessed with equal vigor without a stern interruption from the male committee chair.

Heinrich Questions Top Intelligence Officials In Senate Intel Committee Hearing

U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) questions top intelligence officials during a Senate Select Committee on Intelligence open hearing on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA). Appearing before the Committee were Director of National Intelligence Daniel Coats, Acting Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation Andrew McCabe, National Security Agency Director Admiral Mike Rogers, and the Department of Justice Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein. Sen. King Demands Legal Basis For McCabe, Rogers & Coats' Refusal to Discuss Talks with Trump/Comey

Let's spend a moment on a Trump "presstitute's" comment about Trump mentioning his desire for loyalty from FBI Director Comey. What you are about to see and hear is an insult to the intellect of anyone who can see, read and hear. While Tucker Carlson feeds his audience pure malarkey ( as a good Fox News and GOP communications purveyor), this guest embodies the level and scope of Trumpism as the political phenomenon relates to truisms.

It is important to keep this in mind as we move into tomorrow's testimony.

One reason for this post (a day laters) is to provide a The Progressive Influence archive of the hearing.

Senate Hearing And The Four Mockingbirds (The Fix)

After exposing myself to a bit of Republican theatrics this morning I have reinforced my without question bias against all things conservative and with the following statement remind myself of the fix is on. The four participating witnesses in the hearing were obviously lawyer coached to the max, and they also were not about to speak frankly about the prospect of being asked by Trump to assist in stifling former FBI Director Comey's probe into Trump/Putin and Russia.

Angus King frustrated and appropriately so. It seems the fix is on.

California Senator Harris

Harris's full questioning of the Deputy Atty General. It also includes the strategic (male)  dominance interrupting by the Committee Chair.

Sen. Mark Warner: "We've gotten no answer from any of you."
Particularly noteworthy.especially if you are a woman who doesn't subscribe to GOP gender servitude and barefoot in the kitchenism.

Herewith is a link to a Twitter feed offers almost total coverage of the key moments in the hearing and the segments are offered in brief. Daniella Micaela.

The hearing seemed to solidify, a form of executive privilege as these men clearly have something to hide.
