A Liberal's Perspective On Trump's Inauguration Pledges

Obama Vs  Trump Inauguration

Image result for trump inauguration vs obama inauguration

Is it necessary to identify which image associates with Obama or Trump's inauguration?

Once passed the comparisons, let's take a (Liberal) peep at inauguration pledge amounts. Trump's FEC filing (pdf) shows total pledges just shy of $107 million. Obamas 2009 filing reflected a record $53 million which was double the previous record Of George W. Bush at $42 million.

Pledge Digression:Trump's Inaugural Committee Paid $26 Million to Firm of First Lady's
_______________________________

Days after the inauguration political observers and television news show hosts (other than hosts employed by Fox News) questioned the historic pledge amount. Some TV hosts even questioned inauguration expenditures in light of the scarcity of Trump's inauguration festivities (entertainers, events et al). Questions of expenditures faded like Trump campaign promises, but concerns about the historic pledge amount have lingered for almost two years.

Is it possible we have answers about the $107 million pledges coming to the light of public scrutiny? Last nights The Rachel Maddow Show offered an MSNBC and Maddow perspective based on information oozing out of Trump's News periphery. Linked here.

If you visited the Maddow (four-minute) link regarding Trump's inauguration pledges, you might find the following link even more intriguing. Apparently, Special Counsel Mueller has yet another plea agreement conviction in the winds.

And, a bit more on Patten: linked here.  Crooks and fraud's et al.

All things considered and with the reality of conservative Americans indifference to caring, more rational Americans should stand firmly behind the Mueller Investigations. Trump is as guilty as his actions seem to indicate Have you ever seen a person act as guilty as Trump?

Think long and hard, but recognize you will not find a US President in your recall if you find anyone who acts as guilty.

Rachel Maddow And Company Exposes Efforts To Manipulate Media (VIDEO)

Image result for the rachel maddow showThe following is a long video. We realize any of your are at work and will not or can not devoted 21 minutes to viewing and listening to a video. The video requires full attention, so if you can not view it immediately (and did not see it last night no TRMS), consider setting it aside for good viewing opportunities.

It is one of a kind and it is not about "BREAKING NEWS"; that tired, worn out and manipulative news tease. The segment is about attempts to manipulate a liberal show host (and her team (via a forged surreptitious document. Again it is one of a kind.

We are less than six months into the Trump Administration. We are seeing never before butt-sucking of a Russian leader via a US President. We are reading and hearing of unprecedented effort to data manipulate US election last fall. We are also seeing over the top examples of subterfuge surrounding all things Trump.

As of this week, The Rachel Maddow Show is the leading one hour cable news show across the full spectrum of cable news.  Wouldn't it be a major prize from the Right to have an opportunity to discredit the liberal host and her team? Trumps quests for his "Fake News" Label apparently ran up against pure intellect, wherewithal and proper journalistic acumen.

Now as yourself, why would an opportunity to relegate the leading liberal news related show to that of "discredited" serve a purpose.  If you did not come to a point of thinking, someone on he Right is jobbing us, you may have already slipped into the darkness of Trumpism.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Trump's Adviser As A Russia Recruit

Yesterday, former Trump adviser Carter Page (to Buzzfeed):
"I didn't want to be a spy," Carter Page told ABC News. "I'm not a spy."
Time passes, information comes uncovered and the story adopts a chameleon look based on the degree of revelation.

Slightly over one month ago Page was here:
“I have no comment about any meetings or discussions that may or may not have occurred at the off-the-record Global Partners in Diplomacy event in Cleveland as alleged by USA Today. Although people in Washington frequently disregard such confidentiality rules as we have seen throughout recent weeks, these were not the standards and practices I learned while serving as an officer in the U.S. Navy. However, I will reiterate that I never did anything improper in my activities related to Russia, both last year and throughout the quarter century that I have been traveling to that country.”
An explanation crafted with a great deal of care, caution, and seemingly and suspiciously vague.

The saga is nothing shy of intriguing (and revealing). The matter is especially intriguing with consideration of the GOP party leader's comments on the total innocence of contact with Russia, or lack of knowledge. Of course, that is if you believe anything which emanates from Trump's (Pants on Fire) brain and mouth.

On February 16, 2017, a Trump press conference included an answer which has proven to be another case of "Pants on Fire."

From Paul Manafort to Mike Flynn it seems Trump's words were simply more "Pants on Fire" rhetoric. Trump's comments are unbelievable, even with consideration of his plausible denial disclaimer:  "...not my knowledge."

PBS published a piece on March 2, 2017, which included a brief recap of matters related to Trump's former adviser Carter Page and Russian officials.
Published on Feb 15, 2017

Carter Page, a former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, is among those alleged to have had contact with Russian officials, and was named in an uncorroborated dossier. Page, who manages an energy investment company, joins Judy Woodruff to combat claims of campaign contact with Russian officials, calling recent reports “fake news” and “public relations attacks.”

The PBS piece also included an interview with Chris Hayes, MSNBCs ALL IN and Page.
As we often do here on the TPI, we borrow news show "A" Blocks from MSNBC's Rachel Maddow show. Yesterday's' "A" Block was customarily a bit long, but totally relevant to any consideration of Carter Page and the business of Russia and US politics.

No matter your political preference as to party, no matter your love of dislike of Trump, and no matter your affinity for Russia (as many are showing these days), Russian interference in our elections and US politics is unacceptable. If you can not see the blazing fire under the cover of profuse smoke from this issue, you are actually enabling a political climate conducive to Russian interference in the sovereignty of our nation.

Rick Snyder Poisons Michigan's Seventh-largest City: Your GOP

History repeats with Michigan voters failing to understand: " Forgetting one's past leads to reliving the past."

A cost saving measures to draw residential water from the Flint River instead of the more costly water systems from Lake Heron, has reminded communities of GOP governance.

The majority of Americans who follow the news or current events know that Detroit, Michigan fell into a state of bankruptcy. While tragic enough, the failed economic state led to health risks that were prologue to a much deep health catastrophe as Michigan's Republican governor followed 'spending cuts' practices endemic to all thing GOP.'

In 2014, Michigan's Governor, Rick Snyder, appointed an unelected "emergency" manager to work towards bringing Detroit back to solvency, or to at least (hopefully) provide a level of governing stability during times of economic disaster.  Water and the supply of water in metro areas around the state have been integral to fail GOP leadership; at the peril of residence who had (or have) no power beyond an ability to turn-on and turn-off faucets.

ECO-WATCH published a piece this week which lays GOP governance open to scrutiny. and, you thought the GOP only "leads from the gutter" At the federal level!

What is Legionnaires' disease? 01:03
Flint, an economically depressed city of about 100,000 people, started getting its water from the Flint River about two years. It previously bought Lake Huron water through the city of Detroit. The state government made that change to cut costs.

Soon after the switch, the water started to look, smell and taste funny. People complained.

It was discovered the water had high levels of iron, from the Flint River, and contained lead from hange to cut costs.

What You Need to Know About the Flint Water Crisis

A series of public decisions, driven by misguided management practices and ideological principles that backfired, converged during the past 20 months to poison the city’s drinking water and cause one of the most severe public health threats in the U.S. The extent of the risk to Flint’s residents is not clear.

Flint’s crisis is the third time during the administration of Republican Gov. Rick Snyder that decisions about water supply and water quality at the most senior levels of state government have put state residents in harm’s way. In 2014, again as a result of the governor’s decision to appoint an emergency manager in Detroit, drinking water services were cut off for thousands of city residents said to be in arrears on their water bills. But water services for many of the city’s largest commercial water consumers, which owed the city water department millions of dollars in unpaid charges, were not halted.

The Snyder administration, according to business owners and residents in northern Michigan, has been slow to respond to the threat of a major Great Lakes oil spill from two 63-year-old pipelines that transport 540,000 barrels of oil a day across the Straits of Mackinac at the top of Lake Michigan. An environmental law group in Traverse City, For the Love of Water, has argued that other existing onshore pipelines are available to transport oil to Great Lakes refineries and that Gov. Snyder has the legal authority to shut down Line 5 and prevent what the group called an “imminent risk.”

A key consideration: the poisoning of Flint is the reality of voter apathy and voter inclinations to forget, GOP politics is overwhelmingly that of constituent groups not of the middle class and lower income strata. The basic GOP political paradigm is governance for the nation's Top 20%, with consequential tax cuts, budget cuts, and cut costs even in the reality of loss or damaged lives.  While the Michigan Governor was not in office as Detroit economically collapsed, his Republican inclination to enact inhumane budget-cuts has lead to catastrophe for Michigan's seventh-largest city.

Let there be no mistake the poisoning of Flint is a gubernatorial indictment of Rick Snyder and GOP political policy and practice.  In December 2015, The Rachel Maddow Show ran a segment that should be viewed by anyone who feels there are responsibility for the poisoning beyond the elected GOP governor.  The segment is a bit long, but I remind of a critical credo: Information is not a 40 character-sound bite process; it takes time and contemplation. Republicans thrive of Americans who do not enact that process, and who simply walk away from soundbite rhetoric inseminated with GOP propaganda developed to enact votes.

Flint toxic water tragedy points directly to Michigan Gov. Snyder

Rachel Maddow reports on the poisoning of Flint, Michigan residents when their water supply was switched, and shows explicitly how responsibility for the tragedy falls to Governor Rick Snyder and his radical, anti-democratic policies.
Synder's Poisoning of Flint

The recent GOP Debate included politicians, an entertainer, and a virtual nut case former doctor who if elected would make Snyder's deadly cost-cutting measures seem pale in relation to their potential for nation killing.

On January 13, The Hill reported the Paul Ryan led House voted to over-rule President Obama's "Water Rule."

When Media Decides Debate Participation The Nation Suffers

As I perused MSNBC last evening (between commercial breaks from Monday Night football), I ran across a segment on the Rachel Maddow show that demands attention.  The segment is a bit long, to be frank, but relevant in a climate where we are finding media's guidance of the political process.

If you recall (without find details) The RNC leadership has previously admitted they sat a rule for media coverage of a primary debate after months of claiming hand-off the process for months.

As we moved through the past three weeks published reports of Rand Paul falling below the threshold for the debate main stage was all the news.  Within the past 36 hours, CNN came forth with news that Paul made the threshold without explanation of what took place literally overnight.

Rachel Maddow's production team didn't miss the sudden *re-administration*of fluid rules.

Take a few minutes and watch CNN and the RNC at work. Also, notice towards the end of the Paul segment, another intriguing tidbit regarding the sale of Nevada's most read newspaper (for $140 million).

Your elections are being tweaked manipulated and not so much for the good of us voters.

Jade Helm 15 Has Flushed Out The GOP (It Ain't Pretty)

Re-post from Tracy Knauss and his illustration genesis.

Tracy Knauss

THE AGE OF INSANITY IS UPON US — We live in a time when "The Onion" stories are the order of the day.

You can't make this stuff up. I wondered yesterday,

"How many stupid people are there in this nation to support the ever growing list of GOP clowns running for president?"

Obviously a ton of "igits". They are the same people spreading the conspiracy plot in which our president, nearing the end of his term, has ordered federal military forces to invade Texas where dissenters will be placed in camps as President Obama declares a state of emergency and assumes a third term as president. NPR had a big story on it this morning.

The "dumbassing down" of America is now complete.

Letting the evangelicals take over the school books and state school boards has finally reaped the bad seeds they've sewn. And it isn't pretty. It has helped create the Age of Insanity in America.

When will this madness end? When we restore Democrats to both houses of Congress and keep the White House, (through the ballot box, not the bullet box) and replace the fascists on the Supreme Court who sleep with the Koch brothers and other billionaires. That's when. And NOT until then.

If you have a few minutes and if you issued the following segment from last nights Rachel Maddow Show, give the segment a viewing. After watching many segments regarding this classic GOP insanity and tin hat paranoia Maddows was the most informative and entertaining.  With this segment, every word coutnts, give it a full viewing.

O'Reilly Threatens, Maddow Tucks-in The Fox News Entertainer

O'Reilly Williams
“I know Williams for a long time, I’m not friends with him, I don’t particularly like his style, it’s not my style, but … he’s never done anything that I’ve seen underhanded — personally,” O’Reilly began Thursday.

“But you go on Letterman, I’ve been on there many times, and you want to please, you want to be interesting, you want to be fascinating, you want to be cool — he operates in that world, he operates in the Internet world.
Read more at The Wrap

O'Reilly's exploitation of the Williams's malfeasance, led to typical Fox News demagoguery, and that effort to feed its viewers led to a 'cesspool' dunk for its flagship host. Since, you probably are aware of and may have followed Mother Jones reporting on O'Reilly's contested stories of war zone coverage, we will not go redundant with re-reporting.

You may not know O'Reilly threatened a New York Times reporter and implied threats to other reporters.  The Politico lede below is linked to a piece about the threat.

It is truly sad to have the cable news giant's most watched host literally and brazenly threaten a journalist. O'Reilly again exhibited severe loss of his emotions in addition, to validating himself as a highly compensation demagogue Vs. a television journalist. Fox News on-camera entertainers are not only known for extreme loss of emotion, it isn't beyond the Fox New business model to assume such acts are welcomed (and possibly rewarded). Let's face the fact many on the Right relish exhibition of machismo and acts that appear to others as bullying.

Do you recall this exhibition?

Some people grow to a better place in life, while others simply wallow in emotional misery accompanied by exponentially more compensation. And, the compensation makes them none-the-better. The Pardu
Bill O'Reilly's condemning words about the Brian Williams false comments regarding his involvement in the Iraq War and Williams's remarks post-Katrina. The comments were straightforward and without question mocked Williams.

Bill O'Reilly threatens N.Y. Times reporter

Fox News host Bill O'Reilly threatened a New York Times reporter on Monday night, promising to come after the reporter "with everything I have" if he felt that any of the reporter's coverage about his Falklands war controversy was inappropriate.

You surely knew what would come next. The totally cerebral production team at the Rachel Maddow Show would dig deep (and report) without any exhibition of emotion. Maddow adroitly address O'Reilly threat in the first three minutes of the embedded below.

The US Economy And November Jobs Report

A few days ago, I published a piece related to the November Jobs Report. The piece included the latest evidence of economy mending from years of Trickle-down economics, the deleterious effect of Republican "Free Markets; No Regulation," and mending from being "Bush'd."

The following graphic excerpts are embeds from the piece.

Unemployment dropped as the months passed into Post Bush US History.

While most progressive news viewers have seen the following two minute segment from the Rachel Maddow Show, I think it worthy of posting for others to view. The segment is only 2:02 minutes in duration, but thoroughly nails the common thinking on the improving US economy.

I will again remind you..the GOP has done absolutely nothing to help improve the US economy. In fact, GOP members Congress (to the elected official) have over the past six years worked against the Obama Administrations efforts to improve our economy.

Yet, many of your handed the GOP the US Congress along with pathetic Progressives, Liberals an Independents who simply did not vote'

A Fox News Egg Hunt With Tin Hats For All Who Dare

Let's start our Fox News "egg hunt" with a clear a case of utter disrespect for a viewing audience as nay in 2014. A California Republican congressman, Duncan Hunter sat for an interview with Fox New's Greta Van Sustren and fired -off the largest "tin hat" flatulence you could imagine.

http://on.msnbc.com/10SyI3q

The network's manipulation of its huge audience speaks volumes about the American public. While we poke fun at the network of the gullible and influence-able among us, know that the network serves to sway votes. Votes that when tallied will lay waste to they nation's economic well being and social stability.

Fox News and its most cognitive deprived host. Steve Doocy should gave stuck with the weather cast gig many years ago.

How about uncovering a few more "rotten" Fox News eggs sprinkled across the full scope of of its broadcast programming.

Holding back on Ebola treatment!

Fox News ignites and flames Ebola "Tin Hat" scare and throws in a sprinkle of racism.

What sorts of people patronize Fox News?  How can a sane person find entertainment in this.....?

Fox goes visibly angry when guest will not fulfill thew host's mission of feeding the audience "tin hat" garbage. One of the two segment guests was the same (pay me to say anything) dweeb who sat while Megyn Kelly ranted about white Santa and white Jesus.
