ANONYMOUS Responds to Westborough Baptist Church

Contributions from Addicting Info Dot Com & The Examiner

    Vs.Westboro Baptist church

What follows is an exact example of how our government has led the charge down the path to utter ruin. Our federal legislators legislate ever mindful of how gun PACs and the NRA wish them to legislate. Presidents have enacted gun-control laws, reversed those gun-control measures and now we have a president who seems reticent to tackle the necessary: some form of weapon control against civilian destruction. Another branch of our constitutional government, the Supreme Court, has contributed to simple horrors in our nation. A conservative Supreme Court which as been carefully stacked for political agenda back through Ronald Reagan is spawning legal decisions that contribute to a serious diminution of the quality of life in our society. The very Court that recently ruled in favor of strip searches, unlimited secret political campaign contributions, also ruled that religious groups (or groups) can picket at funerals.

Less than 48 hours after the Connecticut school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, which took place on Dec. 14, the Westboro Baptist Church is already making plans to picket. The Westboro Baptist Church is known... Read full article
It appears Anonymous finds Westboro Baptist Church's (WBC) threat of picketing the funerals of Sandy Hook victims despicable   The Hackivst group claims to have hacked into the WBC database.

The Progressive Influence has long been a strong supporter of Anonymous,  Hackivist who often appear as modern-day Robin Hood and his Merrymen,  and their efforts to do what often appears as 'the right thing to do' across the globe.  Of course, as with any group some action requires a deep level of thought as to why, but overall Anonymous has drawn serious praise from the Progressive Influence.

After Anonymous reported claims of stifling Karl Rove's ORCA on election night, along with pure personal glee had wondered what the group would do next.   Linked,  Linked

Social consciousnesses seems to never rest with Anonymous.  According to one Reddit user:
“Westboro Baptist Church says they will be present at the funerals for the victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre. Let’s counter their protest by forming a silent blockade during the funeral processions!” Very practical, but Anonymous had a different idea, though with the same intentions:
On Sunday, [Anonymous] posted the names and addresses of members of the extremist Westboro Baptist Church after the hate group announced plans to picket Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Conn., where 26 people were gunned down Friday. Anonymous posted the following two messages on Twitter on the weekend:
“Dear WBC Site Admin, you should really work on securing your personal infos. Er, too late…”
Earlier, it tweeted: “It’s so nice of #WBC to provide the internet with a list of their twitter handles..”
The list of the church members, which also includes email addresses and work numbers, can be easily accessed on sites like armywtfmoments.com. (Via)

Hacker Group Anonymous Renews Their Attack on Hate Group Westboro Baptist Church

2012/12/16

By Cicero

According to Computer World, the animosity between Anonymous and WBC began in January 2011, when a letter was sent to WBC claiming to be from the hacker group and claiming they were about to target WBC in retaliation for planned picketing of the Arizona shootings. Anonymous said the letter was a hoax, and they had no plans that included WBC.

WBC, believing the letter was real, put out a flyer calling on Anonymous to “bring it.” (See flyer here)

So Anonymous did indeed bring it, defacing WBC’s Website during the great David Pakman’s live radio show, which that day included members from both groups. The hacker group went on to post personal information of WBC’s high ranking members, along with a map of the internal network of the church.

It seems as though Anonymous is back on the attack due to WBC’s attempt to insert themselves into this most recent national tragedy. While many Websites are reporting that the group has reposted the personal information of WBC members, Addicting Info has not been able to verify this. But the Anonymous Twitter feed did feature a message saying “Anonymous never forgets,” with the WBC “Bring It” flyer attached.

And, at the time of this writing, Anonymous Tweeted: “Called every comic book and costume store in the Newtown / Danbury, CT area, and they are all out of stock of Guy Fawkes masks. This is good.” (The ‘Guy Fawkes’ mask is the signature face of the Anonymous movement.) Looks as though Anonymous may be taking their online activism to the streets.

BREAKING: Anonymous tweets: “RIP… just successfully filed a death certificate for sherley. Her ssn is now blocked”

Anonymous most recently made the news by purportedly claiming credit for a successful hacking mission that led to glitches suffered by Project ORCA, a poll-monitoring system that was supposed to cinch the 2012 presidential election for Mitt Romney. (See coverage here.)

Currently, there is a White House Petition – with over 30,000 signatures in less than two days – calling for the administration to legally recognize the Westboro Baptist ‘Church’ as a hate group (as it has been already recognized by several organizations, including the Southern Poverty Law Center).

Anonymous seems to have taken positive steps to place the sickness of an (alleged) American church back on their heels. The warning, "..be careful".

Let's hope the message is received and heeded.

Obama Abandoned Israel!

Mis-informed, liar, or just lost?

There is little wonder why Mitt Romney consistently accuses the Obama Administration of "fail to support" Israel".  Mitt Romney during his well publicized and much reported fumbling and stumbling 'Make the world angry tour', visits Israel with Casino Magnate Sheldon Adelesen tucked neatly by his side.  Imagine a potential candidate for the US Presidency traveling and fraternizing with a casino magnate?

The very mention of the country, "ISRAEL", has become a political Dog Whistle. The nation is the  number one or number two U.S. international ally. More significant, Israel has significant social and political fissures into and across the United States.  No Republican candidate for president will venture far away from ready-to-fire "Anti-Israel" mantra.  Romney has certainly matched and exceeded the usual pre-election level of "Anti-Israel" charges against his Democratic opponent.

The Israel Prime Minister recently visited the United States as part of the Israeli delegation to the United Nations.  During the visit President Obama did not agree to a sitting meeting with the Prime minister. Obama continued with his campaign schedule. The schedule included a visit to Nevada; a state that has become  a key battleground state.   Personally, President Obama was very wise to avoid such meetings with  heads of state during the heat of the campaign season.

Relations with Israel is critical.  After the 2008 election, The New York Times reported exit poll data showing 78% of the Jewish Vote went to Democratic Candidates. The Times also reports the Jewish vote comprises only 2 % of the electorate, yet it is a critical voting bloc.

I often wonder about the impact of Romney's charges on the people of Israel and the Israeli government.   The Examiner's David Phillips is reporting, a former member of the Israeli Mossad finds Romney's rhetoric unproductive and factually incorrect.

Israel’s Mossad takes issue with
 Romney comments
President Barack Obama and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
President Barack Obama and Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu

In a new interview released today in Foreign Policy magazine, Efraim Halevy the former head of Israel’s foreign intelligence organization Mossad, the "Spymaster" has a few choice words directed at Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney.

“Regarding the election, I think many of the statements made by the Republican candidate are very undesirable as far as Israel is concerned. I remember an article of Governor Romney’s in the Washington Post in March where he advocated dispatching American warships to the Eastern Mediterranean. Shooting from the hip on these matters is a very dangerous sport to be engaged in. And I think that drawing Israel into this campaign is detrimental to Israeli interests, and I regret that one of the candidates is doing this.”

Romney, the Republican Party and the right wing media continuously attack President Obama, saying that he does not fully support Israel. This is despite the fact that Israel’s Prime Minister, Israel’s Defense Minister and Israel’s President, all say that military and intelligence sharing has never been better under any other U.S. President.

Now, the former “Spymaster” Efraim Halevy says that Mitt Romney is dangerous and shoots “from the hip” and he wants Romney to stop “drawing Israel into this campaign" because it's "detrimental to Israeli interests”

The Examiner: Rush Limbaugh: Democrats don't recognize 'authentic' blacks without slave roots

Robby Sobel, The Examiner, explores the intricacies of the Right-wing controversy of President Obama's ethnicity.  It is impossible to explore such bigotry without focused on the GOP ideology leader: Rush Limbaugh. We like Robby find it both perplexing and horrid that we have to even "go there". But, we react to the environment which we live.  A must read.....

Radio talk show host and conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh

Excerpt.....

One of the biggest critics of President Obama and the work done by Ancestry.com was conservative radio show host, Rush Limbaugh. On his radio show this week, Limbaugh attacked the study done by Ancestry.com and ripped the history of African-Americans.
"You can't, in the Democratic party, be an authentic black unless you can have ancestral traces to the deep south and slavery, causeyou not down for the struggle otherwise. If..if you don't have a provable, documentable genealogical trace to slavery, then you are not down for the struggle, and questions of...Well, yeah, you have to be marching, too. I mean that was qualifier number two, you had to march. But a lot of people marched that were not with slave blood. Heston marched. James Garner marched. A lot of people who weren't alive then marched. Just listen to them tell you. By now, everybody, every white liberal marched. Every white liberal in Hollywood marched, but, anyway, I'm getting distracted here."

A look back: How Republicans fell off an economic cliff over the last century

Robert Sobel's photo

It wasn't too long ago that the Republican party looked much different than it does today. Compared to the current incarnation, the men and women who represented the Republican party of yesterday might not even be welcomed in today's GOP. As the years have gone by, conservatives across the country have taken steps to the right of the political spectrum and today are nearly falling off a cliff.
The current Republican party is no longer a party that relates to the average American. Whether it's economic or social issues or foreign policy, the Republicans take a far right stance with nearly every position. After the stock market crashed on October 29th, 1929, following three straight Republican presidencies over a 12 year period, President Franklin Roosevelt was sworn into office in March of 1933 and over the next 12 years got the United States back on its feet. Following the guidelines in his "New Deal," which included the creation of the Social Security program, Americans found themselves getting out of poverty and back into the workplace. After leading the country into a position to win World War 2, President Roosevelt passed away on April 12th 1945. His vice president, Harry Truman, became president and less than a month later, finished the war and the United States and their allies were victorious.
When the stock market crashed, the top tax rate was 24%. The top tax rate in 1923 was 56%, but was lowered to 25% in 1925 and pushed down further leading to the destruction of the American economy only a few years later. One of the main reasons the United States was able to bounce back was because the country was receiving more revenue from its citizens. The top tax rate was increased to 63% in 1932 and by the time President Truman left office in 1953, the top tax rate was 92%. When Republican President Dwight Eisenhower took office in 1953, the country was doing well. It was common place for only one parent in the household to work, easier to raise multiple children and a family could afford to send their children to college without having to worry about massive debts holding them down for years to come.
In the 1950s and 1960s, unions were strong, workers made a living wage and pension plans and vacation time were normal. Not everything was perfect in the 1950s as civil rights for African Americans, women and minorities were being fought and the horror of what was going on in the streets of America was disturbing. While the country had its ups and downs, both parties seemed to be able to sit down and have a conversation with each other, unlike in Washington today.

The Examiner: The Republican attack on public education and unions

Cross posted from The Examiner Dot Com
Robert Sobel's photo

(UPDATE- 6/8/12) The true foundation of a person is their education. Whether it's in the classroom or knowledge that is gained throughout life, the education of a person is important. In the United States, it seems that education is under attack as public schools see their funds cuts by conservative lawmakers, and many college and university tuitions are rising faster than people can keep up with.
At over $1 trillion, The USA Today reports that student loan debt is now greater than credit card debt in the United States. In 2010, over $100 billion was given out in student loans. According to a report by credit.com, the average college debt held by students when they graduate is over $25,000. However, before students can get to college they get educated in elementary school, middle school and then high school. While college tuition is increasing, public education is under attack by Republicans across the country, putting children in America at a severe disadvantage.

The Daily GOP Ignominious: Did Santorum make a Freudian Slip (almost)?

Is this the candidate who quipped about President Obama's use of a Tele Promopter?"
I awakened this morning very typically, reluctantly, but clear necessary.  After a cup of my favorite java (Kenya AA),  my morning routine  got under way with a check my news sources.  After running through my standard linked super heavy weight news links (Huff Post, The Washington Post, The Daily Beast, The Guardian.uk, Reuters, and yes, AOL.com, Addictinginfo.org), I noticed a partially hidden headline from the pages of The Examiner.  The headline led me to an article by Robby Sobel, writer for The Orlando Liberal Examiner, with the following headline:

Did Rick Santorum call President Obama the N-word?
