Trump Vs Obama Economy?

Taking a bit of a hiatus on posting on the page of late...simply busy.

Yet, I can not resist linking to a Forbes piece regarding what some are calling the "booming" Trump economy. I have long posited my rejection of Trump's economic team and policies as the catalyst of the current US economy. Eight years of economic growth preceded Trump's days in the Oval Office. A question comes to mind.

Could the Trump economic team have taken the Bush post-subprime burst and losses of 750,000 per month and turn it around as did the Obama team? I suspect the answer is rhetorical; not with any infusion of GOP or conservative economic ideology and policies. Hardly!

The Forbes piece is linked here.

Since most won't be inclined to follow the link to Forbes, I have posted two charts from the piece as an enticement to educate oneself and understand how the Trump team are flying high on a whiff of self-serving flatulence.

U.S. unemployment rate

One wrong economic decisions and the Trump economic flatulence could dissipate.

As Trump's World Turns: Stephen Moore False-Flags Deflation

Image result for the lying economistJust after Christmas (2018) CNN booked noted Heritage Foundation and Trump economist talking head Stephen Moore, to its airways to joust with Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell. The talk of the day was US inflation (opposed to "no-inflation") and Moore's claim of a current period of "deflation."

Let's define Moore's use of the term to help with showing his continued lack of credibility on matters of the US economy. In fact, Moore has a history of contorting information to advance his usefulness as a far right-wing talking head (economist).  Even the most non-credible carnival barker has to earn a living, eh?

Deflation

Web results

Jun 10, 2018 - Deflation is the general decline in prices for goods and services occurring when the inflation rate falls below 0%. Deflation happens naturally when the money supply of an economy is fixed. ... This is distinct from but similar to price deflation, which is a general decrease in the price level.

For those who prefer information from multiple sources, consider these links as we trod our way through deflation.

The Balance

Deflation: Definition, Causes, Why It's Bad - The Balance

One Minute Economics

With the definition in hand or within easy reach via scrolling up for another review, let's take a look and listen to how Trumpism works. As you listen to Moore, it is important to keep in mind many people believe his flawed demagoguery and Trump without question loves it.

"He who lives by the lie loves the lie."

The following segment is a bit long, but we must not let our tendency for quick gratification move us to the life of the (information deficient) LIV (Low Information Voter). We have enough LIVs in the nation who are supporters of GOP and Trump lies, the eight-minute video is the perfect example of how HIVs (High Information Voters) avoid the inherent dumbness of Trumpism.

The Raw Story offers an abbreviated transcript of the interchange.

As stated above Moore has a history of such "alternative facts" as coined by the Trump communications team.

In 2014, Moore's penchant for modifying reality riled the editors of the Kansas City Star.

There are a couple of standout issues with Moore's lies. He speaks to and for a segment of the population who has learned to embrace the lie as reality. A dangerous state of mind for a nation currently lead by a person with obvious issues surrounding incompetent self-centered leadership. Another issue; if CNN management knows Moore has a history of alternating facts why does the network pay him handsomely to appear on-air to facilitate the network's "do battle" broadcast model? Despite the fact I answered the last question within the confines of the question, CNN viewers shouldn't accept Moore's role in Trumpism. Actually, the network Should consider why even employ Moore. I am guessing the same reason it employs the likes of Rick Santorum.

Trump VS Obama Economy? (Video)

January 2018...the US economy.

Trump has a penchant for running around the nation banter "his" economy. When he isn't offering false prophecy regarding the US economy, his talking head minions are on all cable news networks doing same.

This morning MSNBC's Stephanie Ruhle hosted segment which straightforward deals with Trump's false weaponizing the current US economy. Before the 13 minutes video, we acknowledge the US economy is (basically) doing well. Sustainability is an issue, but we certainly credit the tax cuts (for the wealthy) and Trump deregulation for good spirits in corporate America. We have log posted the current economy is a continuation of the Obama recovery; without the recovery, it wouldn't be possible to have unemployment at 3.9 percent.

Recall, the Bush Sub-prime collapse was preceded by Bush deregulation and Bushes two tax cuts.

If you have 5:00 minutes give the following video a viewing. After the first five minutes, Ruhle embarks on almost eight minutes talk among her guests.

If you are inclined to believe Trump, so be it. But, the wise American will seek to verify or fact-check just about all which emanates from Trump's mouth.

The US Economy After the Wealthy Tax Cut

Last night I witnessed and heard a CNN contributor sit on camera with a sot ad a Left-leaning contributor and rail about how Trump's economy running wildly to the positive and how wages are up. The host didn't challenge the hyperbolic "alternative facts" talking head, but someone should challenge.

New York Times opinion piece regarding a major component of "Trump's Economy", the wealthy tax cuts.

If you didn't visit the NYT link, think about doing so and at least view the Real Wages chart.

The Hill recently published a piece with a compelling case of suspicion regarding continued economic growth. while we are certain Trump and his team as well as conservative Americans can locate pieces with an opposite view, we feel the Hill piece is a worthy read. We have the recent history of the GOP washing or economy into a crevasse, we can ill afford another such collapse, there may be no wiggle room for another economic stimulus as with Obama post-Bush.  The Hill linked here.

The Obama Economy Churns On

We should expect better from the White House.

Trump also has a tendency to brandish a false reality regarding the US economy on a comprehensive basis. He frequently speaks about and has his presstitutes speak out the "great economy". Well the "great US economy" did not commence on January 20, 2017.  Politifact, as well as most credible media, don't share Trump's I am the only one: communications regarding the US economy.  Politifact linked here.

As we frequently state:  Maybe Trump and company should celebrate not crashing the US economy...to date.

One last look.

No automatic alt text available.

Regarding black unemployment or "black jobs". The numbers will aswys correlate to unemployment as the neumebr are unseprable. Differentiating the numbers for politcal advantage is an exercise in the ridiculous.   It employment numbers go up black unemployment will go down just as white unemployment would go down.

Trump: General Pershing And The US Economy (180 Degree Lies)

More
Study what General Pershing of the United States did to terrorists when caught. There was no more Radical Islamic Terror for 35 years!

Pants on Fire!

Trump

Says that in the Philippines more than a century ago, Gen. John Pershing "took 50 bullets, and he dipped them in pigs’ blood," and shot 49 Muslim rebels. "The 50th person, he said, ‘You go back to your people, and you tell them what happened.’ And for 25 years, there wasn’t a problem."
— Donald Trump on Friday, February 19th, 2016 in a rally in North Charleston, S.C.

When will it ever end? Donald Trump is so obviously lost in a world of false reality it is no longer funny. After the recent terror attacks in Barcelona Spain, someone in Trump's White House staff posted a professional and compassionate statement regarding the terror attack. Within hours of the statement, Trump grabbed his IPhone and tweeted a few characters of a completely debunked story of an American Admiral who ordered the deaths of Islamic terror attacked via pig blood dosed bullets. Notice the bigotry and racism. "PIG" and Arabic "Isllamic" are polar opposite ideology.

The over-the-top lying doesn't stop at the top. Trump has a well oiled cadre of "presstitutes" who earn millions traipsing through cable news shows while spewing what often seems agreed upon talking points. MSNBCs powerful financial minds Ali Velshi and Stephanie Ruhle hosted one such mouthpiece earlier today. The rational viewer will recognize the Trumpeteer should not have eaccepted the invitation. The irrational Trump support (lover, sycophant or minion) will continue to accept the lies from the mouthpieces.

Trump's first mental output is to push a lie or an exaggeration across his lips.  If you are a person who believes anything from the mouth of the 45th President of the United States, well.....

Medicaid Enrollment A Problem?

Repost from  occasional links & commentary

Impoverished nation

Posted: David F. Ruccio 29 March 2017

Dissension in Republican ranks didn’t prevent Repeal and Replace. Poverty did.
Think about it: Medicaid now provides for the medical needs of one in five Americans. That’s 74 million people. Even more:

Medicaid now provides medical care to four out of 10 American children. It covers the costs of nearly half of all births in the United States. It pays for the care for two-thirds of people in nursing homes. And it provides for 10 million children and adults with physical or mental disabilities.
As the New York Times notes, Medicaid was a mere footnote when Lyndon B. Johnson signed the Social Security Amendments of 1965. Now, however, the U.S. economy has so impoverished the nation’s population that Medicaid has surpassed Medicare in the number of Americans it covers.

So many Americans rely on Medicaid it was politically impossible to garner enough support, from Democrats and at least some Republicans, to repeal Obamacare and replace it with a plan that gave tax breaks to the rich in exchange for decreasing health coverage for the growing ranks of the poor.

The problem, as it turns out, is not the health system. It’s the nation’s impoverishment.
