As Trump's World Turns: Moments (Vaping, Appeals Court Nominee, Ethno Nationalism)

The Faces of White Nationalism
Image result for ethnonationalism menashi hearing

Today, as I watched the following moment, I was rendered semi-conscious via a stroke of astonishment. When my senses returned, I realized the ridiculousness of allowing Trump to render me stupid for even for one moment.

The Moment

Trump sitting the Oval Office with his Einstein Visa wife and spoke about vaping in a world and administration of utter chaos. Jong-UN is firing missiles to frighten Trump, The Bahamas has thousands missing (and feared dead) after Dorian, close advisers are vacating the Trump Administration comparable to Count Dracula exposed to sunlight. Just to name a few serious world issues.  Is vaping the most serious killer in our nation?  Is vaping the most significant issue his wife can grab as some sort of facade of concern for the nation?  Is this real?

Since I mentioned Einstein Visa:

EB-1 visa. The EB-1 is a preference category for United States employment-based permanent residency. ... Those are foreign nationals who either have "extraordinary abilities", or are "outstanding professors or researchers", and also includes "some executives and managers of foreign companies who are transferred to the US".
EB-1 visa - Wikipedia
https://en.m.wikipedia.org › wiki › EB-1_visa
Now for the moment.

The full Oval Office visit as consumed with what appears more Trump insanity and, frankly, a healthy dose of lying.

Moments of Shame

Let's move to an area of Trumpism which is as telling as Trump's penchant for increasingly appearing outside the realm of rational.  Trump's innate leaning towards white nationalism is troubling. If you continue to hold doubts Trump is a racist surrounded by people who are either equal social regressive or I see nothing lackeys think deeply about your core values.  Also, question your grasp of reality possibly fostered by a lack of credible news choices and supported by facilitating social interactions.

During Trump's campaign, you may recall comments about killing a significant Navy Admiral killing Muslim with swine coated bullets. The story was patently false, but one couldn't help but wonder from where did Trump come up with such a story.  Well, meet a Trump nominee for the federal appeals court (a lifelong judicial seat and the seat of former Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall).

Meet Trump's angel of Ethnonationalism. In very simple terms, the nominee is an overt the top racist, with a very dangerous inner core.

If you want a more in-depth perspective on Menashi as a penultimate racist, VOX offers a well-developed article linked here

Let's revisit Menahsi via his hearing performance which resembled a person taking part in a water-rifle competition. If you have never witnessed a person evading answering questions, give this one a watch. It is a short video and it is classic.

Is it even possible to find any level of rational in nominating such an over-the-top racist and socially regressive Appeals Court Judge? Once we settle on the possibility of such a nomination in a Trump administration, let's identify a deeper motive for nominating a virtual Klansman without a Klan Card, robe, and hood.

After a brief moment of thought, we cannot escape the nominee and Trump's nomination validates the undercurrent of white nationalism oozing from Trump and facilitated by the GOP.

Answer a question, without the need to drop to the comments section for comment. The site has common trolls and bots who leave comments; we don't post nor respond (for the most part).

Do you feel this nominee, if confirmed, would preside over an appeals court which practices, fair and equitable rulings regardless of race?

If you experienced even fleeting thoughts of "well, maybe,..." You should understand that you are to some degree a white nationalist. That mindset is the next step up the ladder of oppression against segments of the population. Moreover, you suffer from the associated inner core of white privilege. Both are the foundations of tragic homicidal lessons learned across the scope and breadth of humankind.

Let's take another look at the perfect example of the myth that only ignorant and stupid people are racist.

As Trump's World Turns: Video Games And Mental Health

Image may contain: text

...Video games and mental health...

After three mass shootings in the span of three weeks (with two in a matter of 48 hours), I listened with contempt as progressive cable news hosts commented in anticipation of Trump's next day White House statements. Well, as is commonly the case Trump pulled up well shy of productive comments while wallowing in a low-level less than rational mumble-jumble. To be much more specific. Trump wallowed in the same irrational and third-grade level reading of a teleprompter.

Let's first expose the most irrational and inane utterances form the address.

If you dare to expose your gray matter to a president who has offered over 11,000 presidential lies in three years here is the full ten plus minutes address.  Speaking of the teleprompter do you recall what follows.

And 2011 criticism of then-President Obama for his use of the teleprompter. Linked here.

OK so much for GOP and Trump ridiculous hypocrisy regarding the teleprompter aside, let's show how VOX has addressed video games as an impetus to mass killings.

According to Vox's Ezra Klein.

Why video games aren’t causing America’s gun problem, in one chart https://bit.ly/2YJSUC3

It really doesn't take much to find the utter ridiculousness of the GOP's affinity for gun Lobby dark money.   You might be thinking"...well the Dems also take money from the NRA."  Yes, but relativity is a powerful consideration and visual representational of the imbalance of NRA money to the GOP is poignant, Open Secrets dot org offers a look at what has truly become money for driving US politicians. Three graphics

In case you didn't check out the Open Secrets' link, consider this graphic.

Take a close look at 2016.

Did you really believe Trump was going to even mention rapid-fire military-style rifles?

As Trump's World Turns: Trump, CPAC, And The Song Remains The Same

In February 2018, Trump peppered his sycophant CPAC audience with a dose of celebrity very much outside the realm of reality when one considers a US President. "bald spot moment."

Yes, believe it.

After a year of Trump TV via the White House and an accumulation of an additional 5,000 lies and at least four major cabinets "resignations (or terminations), Trump again took the stage at the annual conservative oozfest.  Let's take a few peeps at his tow hour plus performance.

Since I interjected Trump Administration departures, here is a link to a February 28, 2019, New York Times piece about the unprecedented number of positions vacated under Trump.  In 2018, the sings of a sick organization manifest with these departures: CBS.

Now for a glimpse at CPAC.  (Brief digression:  To the person (visitor) who visits the page and leaves comments exhorting more writing vs. making my point via video and images. When I consider Trump and CPAC, I'd rather take a seat in front of my freezer, open the door and watch experience the joy of watch water freeze to ice. If you know your physics, my seat and viewing would be a major waste as ice freezing with an open door is impossible. Nonetheless a far more productive undertaking than sitting or even 30 minutes of Trump at CPAC.)

Trump speaking at CPAC...  No words

How embarrassing and shameful to see an adult and the nation's top elected official stoop to such silly antics. Check out the image below.

President Donald Trump hugs the American flag as he arrives to speak at Conservative Political Action Conference, CPAC 2019, in Oxon Hill, Md., Saturday, March 2, 2019. (AP Photo/Jose Luis Magana)

The Atlantic best captured the CPAC cesspool and Trump's clown show. The AtlanticThe 7 Most Bewildering Moments From Trump’s CPAC Speech

How about a US president who spends a moderate amount of his 122-minute performance insulting a former Attorney General he used to prop-up his early campaign. Then Senator Jeff Sessions was the first member of Congress to offer copious support for Trump.

Please excuse the profanity. Credible and respectful US Presidents don't come to a podium and sprinkle profane language throughout their message.

North Korea?  After this regarding Otto Wambier's comatose return to the US  and his death...

...Trump goes here at CPAC.

Of course, there was much more but I abide by my longstanding policy of only scant comments about CPAC.

Without understanding how VOX could keep Trump's most bizarre CPAC moments to seven, the piece is worth a quick read.

The AP also ran a piece about the veracity of Trump's visit to the 2019 oozfest.

Let's close with these.

It is so easy to dupe the uninformed who have allowed themselves to fall into deep sycophancy.

State Of The Union: A National Embarrassment (Fact Checks)

Image result for sotu fact check

Of course, I didn't spend one second of last night on Trump's Stage of the Union (SOTU) performance. I have heard it ran close to one and a half hours, and from today's reporting was laced with lies truth-stretching and other Trumpism. Correction, there was a new twist to the first Trump SOTU. He gave himself applause along with his GOP members of Congress. The visual.

Let's take Trump's recent mantra regarding "black unemployment" as it was bundled into other comments which seem to touch on issues important to minorities.

Many fact checks exist on the day after the SOTU. Last night MSNBC offered a short fact check within an hour of Trump leaving the House Chamber.

I have anxiously awaited the Politifact fact-check which follows. We offer the Politifact Truth-O-Meter (or lack thereof in Trump's case).
Image may contain: text
When added to the Politifact Trump File, the life of Trump in the White House looks as such.

False statements every four and a half minutes throughout the SOTU.

Another perspective on Trump's SOTU performance:

As was the case with Bill Clinton and issues outside of his marriage. As was the case of Trump and his history of sleaze, we also knew that Trump was a serial liar who also avoid fraud trials via settling out of court. But I will wager no one knew the extent of his affliction of lying (itis). Yet, it is all much more serious than Trump's pathological lying.

Trump could serve as a conduit to a state of fascism very much akin to international leaders and regimes he seems to hold in high grace and fondness. If you tend to disagree, watch closely his public affinity for the leaders of Russia, Turkey, and the Philippines. High information Voters (HIVs) are immune from Trumpism as their scope of and quest for, knowledge span outside of total belief in and devotion to Trump and Trump TV (AKA Fox News and Sinclair News) and radio media. The conduit is Trump reach and fissures in the minds and psyches of people who are the antithesis of the HIV; the LIV (Low Information Voter). Therein lies the danger. A danger which without questions past dictators and mental ill national leaders use to affect a subservient populace willing to accept any acts from the leader.

Here are a couple of links to additional observation and comment regarding Trump's SOTU:

The Great Trumpcare Con

While the CBO was working over the weekend to score the Senate bill, Trump's number one 'presstitute, was on cable and network news shows with "alternate facts."

Do you recall his from May 2015?

Medicaid: A GOP Target

If you read the TPI on a regular basis you are aware of our position (the humane position) on Medicaid and Medicare.  The Human Services program may not exist as a life-sustaining from which you derive benefits, but it is a program which offers quality of life opportunities for millions.

As you view what follows, see if you can actually avoid the reality of the GOP (and their nascent leader: Trump) as purveyors of death panel ideology leading got killing policy.  We start with a few graphics for quick delivery of information to the rational person.

Our ending video segment is a piece from last night's The Last Word. Ari Melber filled in for Lawrence O'Donnell. Melber was literally brought to tears as he sat listening to one American who's quality of life (and maybe his actual life) is enhanced via Medicaid.

MSNBC
Michael Phillips, who has spinal muscular atrophy and whose life literally depends on Medicaid, shares his fears about what Medicaid cuts could mean for his care:

Watch the remarkable full interview with Ari Melber:

The GOP Brand is showing its colors as a critical tool for Americans top .01% (ers) who will derive major financial benefits via healthcare laws signed by Trump. VOX linked.

If you have a bit more time, MSNBC's Joy Ann Reid ran a segment this morning which totally remedies the essence of the GOP.

Obama Care Facts VS Trump/Ryan Non-Health Plan

Obamacare

The GOP won the fall General Elections. Trump won an electoral victory (which should draw deep consideration of how the College works) and after one month end-up the process 2.84 million votes behind his opponent Hillary Clinton. The GOP lost seats in the House and the US Senate but retained House and Senate majorities. A dire state which will impact the nation throughout this century and probably into the next Century. The impact of the vote is showing in the Trump/Ryan Budget and it can be characterized as pure blood-letting and "death paneling.A"

US voters should have gone into the polling places with full knowledge and recognition a Trump win would lead to a path for Paul Ryan to cut cost at the expense of all Human Services program. Of course, the ACA is the big target of the GOP. Think of the number of times since Trump's inauguration you have heard "repeal and replace'. Yes, the slogan has gained status right alongside the Confederate Army rebel yell, and the ugly conservative political rally chant of "USA, USA, USA." Repeal and Replace based on the GOP claim the ACA is on a death spiral.

The GOP is remarkably successful at sloganeering.  Evidence of their success is inherent the GOP's opposition to the ACA before 2010 (and thereafter) with that ever-present "death panels" slogan.  The call post-election call of the day is " death spiral." The slogan is nothing more than a sophism much like their pre-2010 "death panels."

While there are many sources of ACA-related information (all of which refute the GOP claims), we prefer to frequent a site called Obama Care Facts. Before moving to a few examples of information-laden charts related to the ACA, it is critical to remember the GOP didn't enact one measure or piece of legislation to further develop the ACA since its signature day at the White House. The party has been in total opposition with lock step strategy with Mitch McConnell's call for Obama as a "one-term" president.
Obama Care Facts excerpt

Obama Care cost and coverage (key considerations)
In all, the latest news is good news in regards to total costs and coverage. A new June 2016 study by the Urban Institute shows the latest long term spending projections are $2.6 trillion lower than the original post-ACA baseline forecast through 2020 — a reduction in projected spending of almost 13%. Read more. Meanwhile, the uninsured rate was estimated to hit an all-time low fell to 9.1% in 2015 according to a 2016 report. Another report demonstrated a steady falling trend under the ACA, but estimated it at an all time low of 11%.
Before the ACA up to 47 million were uninsured.
A Gallup poll shows how the uninsured has decreased since the inception of the law. Note, the poll data relates to late calendar 2013 through the first calendar quarter of 2016.
uninsured-subgroup-gallup-april-2015

Gallup also offered a graph clearly showing deep reductions in the uninsured dating back beyond the ACA through the first calendar quarter of 2016.  gallup-healthways-2nd-quarter-2015-aca-uninusred

Millions more Americans now have some form of medical coverage than prior tot he ACA.

MSNBC's Ali Velshi offered a three minutes segment about the myths of the ACA death spiral.
"I want to keep drilling down on some of these big myths that are being spouted about healthcare, surrounding the healthcare system here in the United States," Velshi said. "One of the myths we here, we have it said on this show several times is that the United States have the best healthcare system in the world."

The following MSNBC AM Joy segment is a bit long, but it is must viewing. Her guest, a former Pharmacist and current House Representative from the State of Georgia, comes across as the classic GOP Ayn Rand non-caring conservative. While we should consider not broad-brushing all conservatives as anti-Obama Care since some conservatives apparently benefit from the Affordable Care Act. However, I think it safe to assume the majority of voting conservatives support GOP efforts to repeal the ACA.

The following World Data chart speaks volumes about the extent to which US leadership and health industry professional care little about the quality of health services in our nation.

A pathetic state for an alleged world leader.  Now, consider where the GOP wants to take the majority influence on life expectancy: health care.

If you are a person who values accurate information on the ACA and the Trump/Ryan bill, from a non-conservative perspective you may want to give this piece more minutes Ezra Klein published a great broadcast segment via his VOX website.
